February is when we’re supposed to expect Ninjago to appear in brick and mortar stores.
-
I reckon the 11 minute episodes worked to a degree, as they allowed for more focus on even the most obscure side characters, they just need to work on the finales. If you still aren’t convinced with it, remember that Secrets of the Forbidden Spinjitzu was very much a trial. Hopefully the next season will be a bit more polished. Has Ninjago ever had a March/April wave? It would be a very welcome first.

The only trouble is that the 2HY wave for Ninjago consists of 4 sets, 2 of which are Legacy sets. Unless we are only getting one season this year, those 2 sets are probably to do with the season releasing in the latter half of the year. Its usually about now the January LEGO Store exclusive minifigure pack gets leaked/released, so i’m holding out that the Digi Zane figure will be released in that, if we are getting one that is. I can't speak too much to this, because I am gaining this from one tweet (this one:https://twitter.com/tommyandreasen/status/1188903583355408385?s=21), but I get the impression that what happened at the end of the Ice Chapter was always supposed to happen. I wonder if the choppy editing and the overall rushing of the ending was a result of the team trying to tell a 20 minute story in 11 minutes, lending to some constraints of the new standard runtime. Of course though, you could be right that there was some 'will we, won't we' about killing Zane in development that led to LEGO playing it safe and not including him in any S12 sets just in case. Again, all this is pure speculation, when season 12 starts, i’m sure it will become crystal clear what Zane's role will be. I'm speculating he will be suffering those repercussions you were talking about, maybe trying to rediscover himself after being forced to enslave an entire realm for decades against his will.

Tommy Andreasen already confirmed that to be false. He said their schedule doesn’t allow for them to make major changes that late in development, so what they made is what they intended to make.

LEGO Hidden Side 2020
Tobias_Jay replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I may be misunderstanding what you’re saying here, but LEGO does have the license for Ghostbusters, but only seem to release anything when there’s a new movie out. I believe there is a set tie-in for the new film rumoured but don’t hold me to that. With that in mind, I can’t see a line of Ghostbusters sets eclipsing Hidden Side with a full range of sets, unless they decide to pull a Jurassic Park and take the license onboard to start a series of sets that are inspired by in-house ideas rather than the films. But with Hidden Side being seemingly quite popular, I can’t see that happening just yet. -
I’m trying to level my expectations for this, but it would be sweet if it was another Elemental Master minifigure pack. Four minifig pack. Four missing Elemental Masters. None of them require new moulds. Do the right thing LEGO If not that, I would expect it to be a sort of battle pack/army builder thing that has one or two of our heroes, much like the last one. Maybe it will include missing variants, like Spinjitzu Slam Nya and Cole or a Digi Zane. Again though, I will level my expectations, as these packs have been, at least with the last two considered, a little lacklustre when it comes to new and exclusive minifigures.

There are four set numbers that don’t have names or pictures to them yet and sources are saying two belong to Legacy, so the other two we can assume belong to the Prime Empire storyline (perhaps they contain spoilers for season 12 (and hopefully a Digi Zane figure) so they’ll release them a little later). I was wondering if they’ll belong to a smaller April/May wave, which, to my memory, would be a first for Ninjago. Having Legacy sets attached to each wave from now would be great, I hope you’re onto something there.

Pink one is Richie. Green one is harder to make out, but I think it’s Krusher

Some observations: - The Nya, Cole and Harumi Minifigures In the Gamer’s Market are ‘Avatar’ variants. So I would wonder if Harumi really is alive or someone in this game has for some reason just chosen her likeness to be their avatar in the game. All I’m saying is, lets hold out on the ‘Harumi is alive’ outcry for a bit. - the new suits are called ‘Digi’ suits (at least I think thats what they say) - The 404 figure looks to be called ‘Red Visor’ and the appearance of two of them in the Tuner Car set makes me wonder if they’re the ‘goons’ that serve Unagami. - The ‘Karlof-lookin’ guy in the Gamer’s Market is tragically not our Metalonian friend, but a new character who’s name appears to be Okino (?) - The figure I and I think many others thought was Jay’s Avatar is actually a new character called Scott. I wonder why he chose an avatar that looks kinda like Jay; long lost brother? - Speaking of Jay, the box art seems to imply this will be a Jay-centric season. Also, can anyone make out the name of the chef guy in the Empire Temple? He’s the only minifigure name I can’t quite read.

To be fair, the first time they did Evil Wu, it was a bit underwhelming, because a lot of what they had planned for him in Rebooted was cut from the final production. I wouldn’t mind seeing how they handle it properly given that their production schedule is a lot more stable now than it was then. That said, I too would prefer that Unagami was someone totally unconnected to the main team. Someone totally fresh that not even Wu has any idea about. I think that’s what made Harumi so likeable as a villain was that she was a consequence of the ninja’s actions, rather than the result of a previous tussle with Wu or part of some ancient prophecy.

To my knowledge, episodes 16-30 are yet to air in the US. Those first 15 episodes aired from June to August and I guess were put on demand during then. If you’re keen to watch then next lot, you might still be able to find them on YouTube, but I can’t imagine it’ll be too long before they air on Cartoon Network in the US. Surely- 4,591 replies

Some eagle-eyed viewers noticed the teapot inside the Desert Beetle in episode 4 of season 11. It also got regurgitated out when Zane escaped the Beetle's belly. I don’t think anything can be confirmed, but I wonder if they’re laying the groundwork for Nadakhan's return there. Back on the season we’re in now (Episode 27/28 spoilers to follow)- 4,591 replies

The piece count for the Golden Mech appears too high to be just the mech, so I wouldn’t be surprised if an Overlord Dragon was included with it, like the Giant Stone Warrior in the Earth Driller. Also, we only know the names of two sets, it’s possible other previously unreleased models are on the way. The Jungle Raider's inclusion is odd, but it shows they’re going up to season 4 with remakes, so maybe it’s an opportunity to get those last few elemental masters that we’re missing.

I’ve been playing around with one of the Spinjitzu Slam sets and I can confirm that the mechanism not only works with the Legacy wave spinners, but also works with the 2011/12 spinners. Kind of a game changer for people still wanting to play the old Spinjitzu game. It also kind of begs the question why they redesigned the Spinjitzu tornado mould but it looks kind of cool, so I’m not really complaining.

That’s very interesting how the ratings differ. I’d say that LEGO could justify Stranger Things because, whether they should be watching it or not, the show is very popular with 12-15 year olds, largely because of the main cast of kids becoming role models for so many of them. It would be very irresponsible for LEGO to promote Game of Thrones to the target LEGO audience simply because sex not only features, but themes around it are overtly prevalent. It’s really the graphic horror of Stranger Things that made me believe it wasn’t ever going to be made into LEGO, but I guess they could look past that. Overwatch too appears to be mostly marketed towards adult fans, but even so, from my understanding of the game, it’s violence level is no worse than, say, Star Wars.

Ninjago: Masters Of Spinjitsu TV Show Thread

Nor do I, but it would make sense for them to make the show feel different after March of the Oni, as that felt like the end of a saga. Now season 11 is moving into a new show, which is still the old show, but with a different runtime and slightly different title. If we are getting thirty 11-minute episodes this season, I would not be complaining. I wonder if, with the new runtime, we will see a change in the style of episodes. Maybe the show will take inspiration from other Cartoon Network shows, like the last couple of seasons of Adventure Time, with each episode having a more contained storyline with a consistent threat throughout.- 4,591 replies

Ninjago: Masters Of Spinjitsu TV Show Thread
Tobias_Jay replied to Lance's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
That trailer appears to have been leaked prematurely, as the animation appears unfinished, at least according to Tommy Andreasen. Whether or not this is Season 11 or a miniseries remains unclear. According to a tweet thread (source below) the new series consists of 30 11 minute episodes, which is 15 22 minute episodes so we might be looking at a bit of a soft reboot for the series. The series is also apparently called ‘Ninjago” as opposed to ‘Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu’. I’d hope so, but I feel like we’d at least know a set number for it by now, so it’s not looking likely...

Sorry to briefly distract from the exciting reveals but is the 70680 Monastery Training out or exclusive to somewhere? I haven’t been able to find it anywhere and I dont want to make the unnecessary effort to order it from Shop@Home...

I’ve heard that the next wave will be villain fighting villain fighting the ninja. The story will be super interesting if this is the case. I wonder how Zane and Kai will play into the story if there is a ice vs. fire theme. There’s this rumour that Zane will become an Ice Emperor, will Kai become a Fire King? It hurts how true this is...

I don’t think the Legacy wave was ever about connecting to the current storyline, rather reimagining scenes from the first two seasons. The Legacy shorts, while also made to entertain, were likely made simply to advertise the sets, minifigures that pop up are just an added bonus. We also didn’t see Garmadon or the minifigure-sized Stone Warriors in the Legacy shorts.
