6209 Slave I Review Admiral Piett: "Bounty Hunters! We don't need that scum." Darth Vader: "There will be a substantial reward for the one who finds the Millenium Falcon, you are free to use any methods necessary, but I want them alive. That means no disintegrations!" Boba Fett: "As you wish." ...and so begins the race to capture the Millenium Falcon! Set Name: Slave I Year of release: 2006 Set Number: #6209 Pieces: 537 Minifigures: 4 and a ½ (Han Solo doesn't really do much) Price: 49.99 US Brickset Bricklink Here is a picture of the instruction booklet. This is the exact picture shown on the front of the box as well. A picture detailing the inside of the instruction manual. Next up we have a picture of the minifigures. This was a major reason behind purchasing this set off eBay. I love all the bounty hunters from Empire Strikes Back, and this set comes with three of them. Boba Fett, IG88 and Dengar comprise the bounty hunter contingent, with a Bespin Guard and Han Solo frozen in Carbonite rounding out the 4 and a ½ figures. Slave I. This set came with plenty of nifty pieces like sand green tiles, lots of various hinges and cool slopes. Besides being a great build, as well as no dreaded sticker sheet! Cockpit shot. Boba shown in the upright flight position. Rt side detailing. From the left we have the Laser cannons on the tail. Next is a small compartment that opens forward on both sides to reveal some hand held weapons. The upward opening hatches reveal some heat seeking missiles on both sides. Just behing the cockpit is the spring-loaded missile launcher (avoid aiming this at the eyes). Below all of these you can see a cabinet that opens up and the lever to fire the missile. Lt side detailing. On this side you can see the corresponding compartments as well as a lever to open the back entrance of the Slave I to allow storage of Han Solo for the flight to Jabba's Palace! One mean sucker! This is one ship you don't want to mess with! Loaded to the hilt with missiles rockets, bombs, lasers etc Boba Fett can shoot his way out of any nasty situations. The Slave I also has some mines that deploy from the section below the back ramp by lifting the rear of the sloping grey pieces. (this was incredibly hard to demonstrate and photograph at the same time, so sorry no pic) Flight Mode. Beside all the in built compartments, the unique design of the Slave I has been copied from the movie perfectly. Upon lift off the Slave I's wings roll 90 degrees to stay horizontal, though this switches Boba Fetts position so he can now see the direction he is flying in. Underside of the Slave I. Here you can see the multiple engines used to propel the Slave I. All of the gang! Boba Fett: "Load Captain Solo up" In Summary. This is one of only two sets I have kept built since purchasing, so that should tell you how impressed I am with the design of the Slave I! Playability: 10/10 Pricing: 10/10 Design: 10/10 Overall: 10/10 I have never been disappointed by any facet of this set and have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone! Bounty Hunters: "Hey Darth you're crowding the shot! The fans want to see us, we only get a short time on screen!" Thanks you all for looking, there are some more pics of this at my Photobucket

I have my lovely wife to thank for making me two great cakes that look like Lego for my birthday! (plus the test cake too) They are sponge cakes underneath and wagon wheels for the studs. Anyway here is a pic. Man was there a lot of icing. Not looking forward to changing nappies in the next day or so...... This got me thinking, Has anyone had anything like this before? I do remember seeing a Lego wedding cake with SW figures recently.

Definitely a good question to put to Copmike. Maybe they were only prototypes that didn't test well? Perhaps the BP's took their place? They don't really scream "buy me" Oh, I couldn't find them in the Lego cache either.

The Baritones Day 3-The Citizens Strike Back!
I Scream Clone replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
There certainly must be some subtle clue i'm failing to see in regards to 'construction workers', Where are the 3 beefcakes? It was to be expected that the power of loaned money, gambling debts etc could be used by the Baritones to influence the voting etc, cant believe we didn't see such an obvious plot device! -
The Baritones Day 3-The Citizens Strike Back!
I Scream Clone replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Alright a double win for the citizens of this lovely town! Cant believe we Carter killed off the Godfather! Now we are getting somewhere. I really was distressed at my leading the way for a vote for Neal, but now his death is leading us to tracking down the Baritone scum! My poor Al was a traitor/and two timer. Patty is one lucky dead biker chick, as I would have been after her for forcing Al to vote with traitors. Not to mention someone torching his house and killing him. Ivan and Darleen I feel your pain, even though our relationship was in the early stages, whereas you had a lifetime with Florence. So, Al was either able to break into the Mayors office or got the briefcase off another town member! Very interesting. Ivan! Ivan! look! look! Whoa! that is one pissed ghost! She does have a point about the Mayor being very unscrupulous! Looks like people in this town are on a win with ghosts and dead FBI agents pointing us in the right direction! i hope..... For know I vote ptdapen/Mayor it all seems to add up and we must see that poor Florence came back to us for a reason. Mayor can you possibly say anything to sway mine or others in condemning you? Ivan im sorry I didn't hear you speaking before me! Sorry to interrupt. "Avast me hearties it be a crooked Mayor off the port bow" whoooooaaaa, where did that come from? I must have been standing a little too close to the cosmetics cabinet this morning -

$45 isnt too bad to get the mammoth sized set to Aus, It would cost a lot more off ebay shipping from US, though the price to buy would be in US. Kmart has 15% today for a week -
Must look out for the SNOT ship I really need a few more orcs to use another head for the baby. Bring on Orc/Dwarf BPs next year!
