Update by Hinckley: To get the calendar in the US Call 1.800.835.4386 (Brothers-Brick has the wrong number listed) and order no more than 2 7979 by giving them the code JesterUS. In Canada the code is JesterCA @ (1.877.518.5346). It is also advised that you only order your calendars right now so TLG can keep the lines free. You can always add more to the order later... I just saw this on The Brothers Brick looks like the US fans can get it on the 26th of sept, not sure how long for though? Good luck US fans!

The Baritones Discussion Thread
I Scream Clone replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I really think Flo took all the strategy out of the last few days, she turns up and everyone believes what she says, no arguing against that Still fun quick game. Oh Norrington, your location should read 'bowels' not 'bowls' of hell, unless you are in the cereal district of hell that is -
I realise in the movie they are fully grown, but I was having some fun with the whole baby idea! Thanks, I hadn't seen the ninja masks used like this before, so I gave it a whirl though I dont claim to be a trailblazer The water is coming from a underground stream in the mountain. I was intending to build a dwarf scene inside the mountain, but concentrated on the Orc castle instead.

Theres no last ditch efforts, Im just keeping the story of the towns characters interesting. Perhaps you would prefer the characters to be mindless one dimensional lego bricks Not me Im in it for the creative writing and detective work -

The Baritones Day 5-An End to the Spectral Help
I Scream Clone replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Well I just guessed that there was an arsonist, because a) it was a lawless town and b) it was a different mode of killing to executions. You see Arson is a particularly nasty way to die and the Baritones seemed to prefer a quick kill with multiple gunshots. I had no knowledge of an Arsonist, but quickly put 2 and 2 together to get 5. (OOC: Its a shame the arsonist / Stash was killed off as it was an interesting plot device that had everyone guessing) -

Slap back out of town blow in Oh its on! Cat fight No wait wrong photo Thats more like it. Even though it looks bad for me, I implore the citizens to use other means to track down evil. Dont just fall in line with this Darlene chick she has already fallen in with Ivan who is up to no good at night. Hmmm any final tirades, The Mayor kept slapping my pantsless butt! The Construction workers were always sexually harassing me (and I loved it ) So long suckers...... -

Ill be out on the sundeck if anyone needs me! No point trying to even tell the truth because Flo has already killed off two baritones, and you cant argue with those stats even if im a loyal citizen. I loved this town of Moonlight and I believe i was making moves towards finding more of these Baritones, I even nailed a couple myself! Please bury me with pants -
That is just brilliant! Go naughty grannies! great use of parts too. Go copmike you Lego Ambassador Did someone say SNOT?

The Baritones Day 4-A Good Man Slain...
I Scream Clone replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Thats exactly the 'over the top' reaction I would expect of someone who doesn't like where i'm heading with my line of questioning. You are quick to point fingers but don't like it when I point them back, and instead play the family card saying that because you are Florence's sister you must therefore be a good person as well. There are bad sheep in many families. As for saying that you were out last night as well as Ivan and expecting me to just dismiss your actions as innocent, well not going to happen sister. I don't have any night actions, and though some people are able to investigate people at night and find out their allegiances others are up to no good, like murder and arson related murder. Care to explain what you were up too last night, or at least trying to get up to? Ivan, why so secretive on your night moves too? I know you are in mourning and after your wifes killer, but have you unearthed anything we can use? At this stage I am happy to go with Flo's call and Vote: Betty, though I think we are getting somewhere now. Another thing that just occurred to me is the handyman work done to make sure Trekk was trapped in his inferno. Perhaps some of his work mates could explain the best way to nail windows shut? -
Great review Dunamis, I was hanging out to see how your review would turn out even though mine hasn't arrived yet and I didn't want to spoil it too much! Just couldn't resist having a look, though I did skim over most build pics

What a sweet review! Well worth another look. Thanks for showing how cool older sets were.

Thanks all for the nice words and great stories behind what must be a classic in terms of SW sets! Thanks for putting the poll on KimT, I was having issues with the font-flaws on the 7037 review using the quick edit, but when I would open the page again they would dissappear, it was all getting a bit confusing as other times I would fix the font flaws and save and they would return again Cheers buddy!

The Baritones Day 4-A Good Man Slain...
I Scream Clone replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
There is much to ponder here. First up we have an arsonist on a rampage ( well two days worth is a rampage I guess?!) It seems like this killer is helping the plot device workers clear land to build Casinos etc for the Baritones! As well as bumping off good citizens and traitors who dont pay their debts I find it strange that the arson attacks only started once Darlene arrived in town, and im sure she realized this too and decided to tell us that she was bonked on the head Though the note from poor Trekk (no winning streak for you) might also point to 3 fingered Ivan as the masked pyromaniac/vigilante as he was out both nights (possibly torching poor people) Well it looks like we might be in Florences debt again! Where does she get her information from? Flo has decided to, I assume haunting characters, to find out their motives. She has delivered already in the Mayor and now asks us to go after Betty as well. I still have trouble trusting anyone in this town at the moment, what with my Al torched before we could even get a relationship started and all the other murders Im just not sure who to vote for. Though Betty is firming very quickly at the top of my list with Ivan and then Darleen to do some "splainin" Has anyone found my pants yet, I need to match up my nail polish? -
I think it worked out about $95 AUS incl postage from the US (built once and displayed)

Set Review: 7038 Troll Assault Wagon
I Scream Clone replied to cagri's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Nice review cagri! I must admit when I saw what was in this set I decided to pass on it for the same reasons as you stated. The only thing nagging at me are the different faces for the knights. Maybe I will pick them up on BL. I sure hope you never do a review of Death Star 10188, as laying all the parts out could be a nightmare -
Wow! Here is another line I had no idea existed! Nice little set, and provided there are no holes in the boat you should give it a try in the bath tonight

Sir, We have captured an Orcish spy! Good work, throw him in the Tower! We will deal with him shortly! …and so begins the classic tale of Escape from Castle Tower, a Review of 7037 Set Name Tower Raid Year of release: 2008 Set Number: #7037 Pieces: 364 Minifigures: 5, 2 Knights and 3 Trolls/Orcs Price: 49.99 Aus/29.99 US/19.99 GBP/ 29.99 EUR S@H Bricklink Off we go! The Tower Raid is part of the second year of the New Classic Castle line. I consider it a mid priced set. For the purpose of this review, I consider the term Orc and Troll interchangeable. Here is a picture of the box and of the instructions. This set was packaged into 4 plastic bags (numbered 1-4) Bags 1 and 2 contained the tower parts, whilst 3 and 4 the siege tower. Instruction book 1 is for the tower and book 2 is for the siege tower. As per usual the minifigures were located in the first bag. Parts I was excited to open these pieces will go great on some of my future creations, dark brown bricks are always welcome! Minifigures One of the big draw cards of this set was the minifigure variety and count. I love to get as many trolls/orcs as they are my favourite faction, and with this set you receive 3. You receive 2 grunt orcs with the new silver helmet, and a general who has the orange metallic helemt as well as shoulder pads! You also get 2 Crown Knights, 1 generic knight with 'determined face' and 1 archer with a happy/scared face. Weapons consist of 2 orcish swords (1 brown and 1 silver/grey), handcuffs ( I got 2 lots), crossbow, sword, 1 shield for the knight and orc and a quiver. There is also a Standard, which the Orcs would use to rally there troops and instill fear in to the Crown knights. The build: Tower Early tower pic showing the placement of the falling floorboards Once the tower wall falls inwards on the hinges, the tiled floor above falls down freeing the Orc Almost done just need the top now Complete Tower The build: Siege Tower Early stage showing the battering ram. The second level contains the boarding ramp which extends forward when the string is pulled backwards at the rear of the tower. This easily resets. Complete Siege Tower: To operate the battering ram feature you pull back on the ram and the rubber band ensures that it will shoot forward, battering into the tower wall Complete Pictures The two parts of this set are well balanced. Summary In summary, some of my thoughts on this set Design: 9/10 Really well designed set with 4 levels of tower and three levels of siege tower. Playability: 9/10 Great playability with the battering ram and boarding ramp both functioning really well. The tower wall is also great and easily reset! Pricing: 9/10 For what the set contains I think the pricing is spot on. Overall: 9/10 This I feel is the benchmark by which all other 2008 sets should be measured against, it has loads of playability, a great minifig assortment, and is just plain fun to build as well as admire! So who's going to tell the king the prisoner escaped? Thank you all for looking, I welcome your opinions on this set. My Photobucket

Mix it Up! Who says a Lego Town doesn’t need a small mobile Concrete Mixer? Sometimes a giant cement mixer just can’t reach the tight winding streets or docklands. Then who will do the job? That’s right you better call for Jim the Concrete Guy! Ssshhhhh We need some concrete over at the docks, roger! sssshhhhhshshhh Cant you just send in the Concrete truck?, over! ssssshhhhh Wont fit out on the narrow pathways, over! Sssssss Ok, Im on my way! Set Name: Builder Year of release: 2008 Set Number: #5610 Pieces: 23 Price: 5.99 Aus/3.49 US/1.99 GBP/ 3.29 EUR S@H Bricklink First up we have the Box viewed from front and back Some shots of the instructions. Next we see all 23 pieces in this set. A progress shot to show the complexity of the build. Here we see the finished product! A shot next to the box. Summary In summary, some of my thoughts on this set Design: 9/10 This is an ingenious design for such a small set, a nice feature of this set is the cement mixer actually rotates when you push the cart on its wheels. Very nicely done Lego! Playability: 9/10 Great playability as you can arrive on the scene of any MOC and help out with construction work Pricing: 8/10 Whilst this set isn't cost prohibitive, it is just a little more than you would want to pay to buy an army of impulse sets. Overall: 9/10 This is a great set with cool parts and a rotating mixer feature All in all, this is a great army building set, perfect for the local council to stop any citizen uprising in its tracks! Bonus: One of the many uses for concrete! Jar Jar: Messa ready for my new concrete shoes okiday! Thank you for taking the time to read my review! Cheers ISC My Photobucket
