Not in Australia it isn't. Besides, it's as simple as moving the station to the other side or placing a straight piece before the station.
-
No offense, but I personally think that people who complain about the overhang of the new nose piece are being ridiculous. It's not even realistic to have things that close to the track anyway if the nose hits it. You either have far too little space or you can simply move the track a few millimetres .... literally away from the object. Otherwise LEGO would constantly have to make flat nose trains and there would be no variety or realism. Literally all you have to do is have a straight piece or move the object away, it's the simple, not a flaw at all

1974 ahaha! No, I swear I'm not talking about the train nose ahahehe! I'm merely saying that in terms of those Disney CAR sets, the cars are really small. So to make them look realistic they practically had to use a custom mould, however that can also be applied to the nose piece, they wanted to make that realistic too
-
^ But they practically had to make those Disney CAR sets look like that, because they're working with such small spaces and specifications, that's why they use a mould. If they're trying to make something detailed, realistic and right, then they may consider a mould c:

That's fine zephyr1934, I do understand about certain pieces not being used for anything else, however I think LEGO has moved into more allowing people to buy specific sets for a specific purpose. So if you only intended to build or you wanted a train, then 60051 would be specifically for your train layout, though I do understand what you mean. Though there is enough sets now to allow you to choose what you would like and which bricks you need for your builds c:

To build a brick built version of this new train replica would mean a rise in piece count. Also, it would be aesthetically impossible to achieve the sleekness, aerodynamic and flowing lines that are represented in the design of this new nose piece. For the size and space that the piece is working with, I think it does it perfectly. It looks beautiful on the track and it really does stand out as the most modern looking train as a result. To me, I've never considered LEGO as having to be purely ''bricks'', because I wasn't born in the 80's. I was born in 1994. I feel as though there is a clash between the adults here, who have grown up with purely brick built and the new age of LEGO today. Because these large pieces are still a piece, you still have to place it on just like any LEGO brick and you're still creating the model. You're just not constructing that shape. LEGO presumably had to face the challenge of achieving modern design into their bricks, without driving the piece count up, without making it too hard for the core demographic and looking aesthetically stable and correct. I think that LEGO did the right choice with these new trains. There is a HUGE contrast between the two trains. Streamlined high-speed passenger train and industrial diesel. To a child, that contrast would be great for their CITY.

Yeah, it will certainly be interesting to see what LEGO does in the future. I would be surprised actually if they released another single mould at some stage. I would love for LEGO to make an amazing station one day, that would be wonderful!

Unfortunately it doesn't have lights at the front, however I am sure it wouldn't be hard to put lights in it, that is something I would consider too! c: I am so, so happy though about this new passenger train. The nose piece is one of my favourite LEGO pieces and it fits perfectly, no gaps. It also looks incredibly modern on the track, stunning work from LEGO. Also, to me this new mould is LEGO. As I grew up with these types of moulds in many LEGO sets. 7897 was my third LEGO train and it was incredible as a young teen finding a LEGO, sleek train. Duplo is heavily junourised and oversized, this piece isn't. It's sleek and aerodynamic. So many sets have single moulds for various reasons, so it's not doubt why LEGO wouldn't do one for a train. LEGO normally makes these moulds because of the detail they're dealing with. Hence why plans, helicopters, previous trains like 4511 and 7897 have had large pieces. Even pirate ships, boats and other LEGO sets have had large pieces. LEGO will release more trains in the future, which I'm sure you will be ecstatic over because it suits 'your' train. However to the people who love this train and this style, we're rejoicing and are thoroughly excited. If you don't like it don't buy it.

Thank you c:

The only flaw it had was piece on the bogey. The red train also doesn't have doors and many of LEGO's trains have the holes exposed in the floor for the wires. So realistically it's not, not well designed. Thankfully the front piece is perfectly designed, fit's perfect and looks amazing!

JANGBRiCKS posted a review of 60051!

The recent red 7938: Passenger Train is styled under a German train called Talent and is not considered to be high-speed passenger train, that is why it managed to be brick built and thus under the piece count. The 10233: Horizon Express is a high-speed passenger train based on the French TGV 001, however it is a more solid shaped design rather than a streamlined design and is also under the expert line, giving it far more pieces to create it's front façade. The 60051: High-Speed Passenger Train doesn't appear to have a distinct replica, however it is based on a very modern, high-speed train, trains which are more current and are being developed now.The only other train that LEGO has created that is similar to this new 60051 train is a train they release in 2006 called 7897, which had many flaws. When I bought it, I was extremely disappointed. So to have this new train is a relief, I love these styles of trains so I'm excited to finally get a high-speed train with a front moulded nose that fits perfectly flush. It feels like LEGO is repaying all those who bought 7897 and were disappointed. LEGO has also been doing large custom moulds for decades. But LEGO will release more trains and styles in the future, so no need to worry c:
-
That's fine c: It's just that to people like me, who really wanted to display a high-speed, sleek profile white train, I'm finally getting this year and I couldn't be happier. I'm sure there will be a passenger train in the next wave of train sets they release that may suit your liking.
-
When LEGO 7897 Passenger Train came out, I loved it as a kid, however it had flaws. Now we have 60051, which is perfect. The front mold is extremely modern and fits perfectly! You have to realise this if for the demographic of children today. Also, LEGO wants variety, hence the streamlined passenger train, with the boxy diesel. It would be near impossible to build a streamlined brick built train that stays below the piece count of the cargo train and under price, as the cargo train is always the higher piece count of the two. If LEGO can do it with planes, helicopters and the trains they have done before, then I find no reason why they cannot do it now. Besides, it looks realistic, sleek and amazing!

You're welcome! c: Ahahaha, no worries! look forward to it!
-
I love your reviews just2good! I can't wait for the Passenger Train review from you!
-
I wish there was some new information about the passenger train, I can't wait till July/August ahaha. :c
-
Do you mean you are able to find out about the sets and the stores? :o Can I know about this information please?! Ahahahaha I am in Australia too! ^_^ !
-
it will be interesting to see if all the second yearly sets are released in the mid year June/July Australian toy sales? Hopefully, -fingers crossed!-
-
Wow, very well said, very well said!

Awwwww :( yeah actually, looking at the past sets back in the 80's and 90's there were some amazing structures and added additions to the train line. I know what you mean about the train line just being the station, passenger train and cargo train reintroduced in a different style, which is similarly the same as many other themes repeating their models so that the constant generational and focal audience can experience the same target capture, however it would be great to have some more structures. Maybe that would work if LEGO made a separate line for trains, or perhaps in the future we will see a special train set or some more variety.
-
I suppose like you have said, it's all about the generational difference. I am 19, so I grew up with the current CITY style sets, like the white and green trains from 2006, although I did get the original Santa Fe when I was little. I think the trains of this decade are amazing, though I love all the LEGO trains c:
-
I completely agree! c:
-
It certainly does c: however she simply used that statement in regards to the trains being reintroduced after having not been released as a focal, core line since 2010. So similarly she would have stated the same if another said theme was reintroduced again after a few years, it just happens to be trains that are reintroduced again this year, hence the statement.
-
She said that the LEGO CITY trains haven't been introduced in a few years as a current retailer line, simply stating that it has been a few years since trains have been available as an actual line, rather than expert series or exclusives :)
