So I am going back to school in just a little over a month now and am starting to get those sad, inevitable feelings that I will have to leave my collection behind and put a hold on buying new sets However I started thinking that this year I am going to do it a little differently! I decided that I am going to take one of my small bins of misc. pieces down to school with me for those times that I just need to hear that clinking of the pieces bouncing off each other and let my creative juices run free! I also decided I am going to take down some of my favorite minifigs (Spidey ) to keep my new builds company. I have a single for the entire upcoming year so I won't need to worry about bugging a roommate! I feel like this is a great solution to the long break that college can sometime be! So come on fellow students! Let's hear some of what you guys do to stay LEGO active at school, and for those that have made it through college already, what did you guys do?

They better or I will be one unhappy camper! Hopefully we will get a response soon For $30 in the US I think this is one set TLG actually priced just right!
-
Well I might not be a familiar face but welcome back! It is always fun to hear what people have to say after they have been in and out of the hobby for some time
-
Well it has 3 exclusive, at this point, minifigures, a great price, a good number of pieces, and a good number of cool and useful pieces. It may be an opinion that it is better than most Avengers sets, but I would put this one over Cap's motorcycle, Hulk's Helicarrier (since we pretty much paid $50 for the Hulk), and the SHIELD truck one since the only exclusive was the Iron Man suit and that truck just was nice but not great. I would say that this is in the same ball park as Wolverine's Chopper Showdown set. Great figs, great price, and good pieces

Spider-Man 2 By far the best Spidey game ever made! I will continue to swing around this city forever!

I agree about the figs. I am not to crazy about TDKR figs, however if they have a tumbler and B.A.T I would be slightly more interested! -
Ya I got mine to! Said to be here tomorrow
-
Wow that looks great! Really creative and great piece usage! Now let's try to fit that into a tumbler

I agree Lyichir. There is always something MORE people want. First we wanted TDKR sets, done. Then we wanted to get the tumbler and B.A.T., we think that's done. And now we want Catwoman TLG must read these forums and just feel like they can never win! I do think the minifigs are the draw for some sets, Hulk Helicarrier , however in some sets, especially Batman, I think the vehicles are a huge draw. Especially if we really are getting the two previously mentioned ones! -

I for one like the fact that they are doing a lot of sets based of Ultimate Spider-Man. The show is just kinda silly and not all that great but they introduce a wide range of characters! They have introduced Sabertooth, Dr. Doom, Juggernaut, and there have been hints at Anti-Venom The show gives LEGO an easy reason to make these characters and put them in sets. I think it would have been hard to get a Dr. Doom fig with out this show. -
I browsed even less than that! Maybe a couple hours before I through my hat in the mix Glad I did and I am sure you will enjoy your time here as well! Welcome!

I apologize, I was just responding to the comment, trying to give an answer. I will stay on topic -
You won't find Palp Arrest at Target because it is a TRU exclusive unfortunately However right now they are offering it online for retail price, it's sold out though. July 23 S@H should have most of the new sets in so hopefully it will pop up there for $89.99 rather than the $109.99 TRU has it listed at.
-
That is what most of them are. Just product designs and MOC's. I don't think TLG would ever sell a bust of Watto I don't know many people interested of a big Watto head sitting around their house
-
Then Doom comes back and attacks them on the Helicarrier so maybe they could include a little bit of that?
-
First one to come to my mind was the city of Atlantis Take out some of the weird fish people and explorers and just have the S8 Diver discovering the lost city. I think the white and gold minifig work really well, and should look cool with that big diver helmet

That is pretty darn cool! With something like that one could easily be a master in those photography threads I could almost be as good as Peter Parker. Now that guy gets some great shots!

You mean kind of like this set? I think TLG did their best to make that scene already so I doubt we will see anymore sets being made from the past two movies, just like I doubt we will get Iron Man 1 or 2 sets or Thor or Captain America: TFA. TLG did surprise us with this TDKR set so who really knows what they will do at this point? -
In recent years Dr. Doom has become a bigger villain across the Marvel Universe. He appears in a lot of Spidey comics, as well as a few Daredevil and a couple of Mash-Ups where characters like Thor and Iron-Man fight against Doom. Sure he is the main villain to the Fantastic Four, but he has grown a lot over the years. Stan Lee lists him as his favorite Super Villain he has ever created. And for the sake of solidifying the argument; he appears in the Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon and that is all the ammo LEGO needs. Besides most 6-12 year old kids will probably only know Doom from that show

I guess thats probably good considering I am not a huge fan of the last few movies. However it does make it seem less and less likely that we will get a ton of X-Men sets. LEGO has a lot to work with since Marvel is releasing so many movies in the next couple of years. I am still hopeful that LEGO will realize how popular the X-Men are and give us at the very least some of the most popular figures and locations.
