Post about Cartoons and Anime you like
Spider-Man replied to Peppermint_M's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I guess you are right, but things like this and the superhero squad do cause some problems. My little 6 year old brother watches them religiously and when the time the Marvel or DC movies come out in theaters he throws fits when we tell him that he is too young to go. I guess my real quarrel is just hoping that they don't lighten up ALL of Marvel, because over the past 5 or so years there has been a noticeable trend in not only television but also in more and more 'kiddie comics'. A major part of Tony Stark's life was the "Bottom of the Bottle" stretch where he was a struggling alcoholic, and that story line builds a lot of his character that he is later on, and I don't want Marvel losing the more mature things like that. -
You need to have done 500 posts in order to do a poll, so as of now you would need a mod to add one for you If you really want one I suggest just pm-ing one

I am the exact same way. I love going to hang with friends and I play basketball at the gym pretty much everyday, but the whole drinking and going nuts thing just isn't for me. I did a lot of that stuff back in HS and just got bored of it and didn't really see the point to it anymore. I see people spend easily over $100 a night on booze, which is ok since that is their "hobby", and it also makes me feel better about buying the occasional set!

Ya that is pretty bad. I really don't like how Disney is seemingly dumbing down the Marvel Universe for the kids. Some stuff needs to be left alone. A lot of the comics are anything but kid appropriate. -
Great review! I still can't help but think that TLG just felt like they needed a Queen fig and said what the heck throw her in the sub set! She has no business being here but I am glad that she is!
-
I think TLG should see if they can do some medium sized molds, like Hagrid. I don't think they should go bigger than Hulk, but some characters are just bigger than minifig form. I feel like what ever LEGO decides to do will work out well. I think we will all be happy with just getting all these characters in LEGO form one way or another

I was thinking the same thing about the seam, I just don't know what clone brand would have made it? It feels like LEGO plastic but who knows. It fits figs heads so I am sure I will be able to use it somewhere

Quick Pic Review: 6873 Spider-Man's Doc Ock Ambush
Spider-Man replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Licensed
I actually really like the playset. It has a nice little lab area, holding cell, and vent system. I much prefer this playset as to the Hellicarrier Breakout one -
Thats what I thought to. I wouldn't think of a white prototype? It looks identical, buckle and all. I'll have to work on getting some pictures up so people can have a better idea. Edit: Added two photos. Hope I can get a better idea of just what this is

Hey guys I was just going through some bulk LEGO that was given to me by one of my mom's friends uncles. The pieces are all from pretty old sets, such as dragon knights, some of those yellow islander sets, and the old ninja(?) or samurai(?) sets that have spider and wolf capes. My LEGO knowledge doesn't date that far back so that is the best I can do to describe them But there are also just random pieces from broken down sets and I came upon a white wizards hat? I did a quick search on bricklink and saw that it isn't even in the known colors? So I am thinking that either it is really old and the color has faded away, or bricklink just doesn't have what set it is from? Pictures: Hat on Gandalf Just the hat Any help you guys can offer in identifying this piece would be much appreciated (If this is the wrong place to ask this could a mod please move it elsewhere )

[MOC] Yet another Super Star Destroyer Executor...
Spider-Man replied to Bob De Quatre's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Whoa Now that is one big project! That would take a long time and a lot of $$$ to actually brick build! Great job on it so far -
Got it! I was a little surprised by that I do look forward to seeing this 'all red Vader' however! My guess is decals on a red torso with a red cape!
-
Wow that looks pretty neat! Thanks for the pic Gandalf's brick build hat looks pretty good on him
-
I was more referring to this quote: I know that they test to see imperfections, I just don't think that we should consider ourselves 'lucky' that we have black Vader. If Vader was any color other than black people would throw a fit.
-
Those look pretty cool! Really nice job on the painting, and as you said, I say you paint the base of the pink hair to make it look like a ring holding it up like that
-
Why would they use any color besides black for Vader's helmet? I know they have to test the mold in a cheaper color, but there is absolutely no way they would have put red or blue Vader's in sets. TLG made LEGO Star Wars way after the movies came out, so there would be no real reason to choose a different color.
-
Were all those official LEGO pieces? Why would TLG test in so many colors? It looks hilarious with them all sitting in a circle like that though

Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion
Spider-Man replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
I think that the figs fit in perfectly together? I really don't see how Spidey and Iron Fist look different from the others, and I have them sitting right here in front of me. The Fury that is coming out can easily fit in with the Avengers as well every other fig in the line. Just because they come from a cartoon doesn't mean that they look all that different in minifig form, heck minifig Iron Man's big head looks like it came out of a cartoon. And even more to the point big Hulk looks more like a cartoon then he does to his on screen Ruffalo counterpart. All in all I think TLG has 3 different styles as purpleparadox said. Fleshies, Yellow system which you find in city and other non-licensed themes, and then the classic which you get in the modulars. -
We all need people to help us in this moment so I will hopefully help by saying...Yay! Go for it. It sound like you really want it, and will probably get it regardlessly, but I say definitely go for it!

Thats pretty sweet that you were so close to everything! I atleast have my car on campus so I can atleast drive the 10 or so minutes to Target and see what they have in. I just don't like having to break everything down to bring back home lol
-
Got mine to! Really is a good set in my mind! Lot's of nice big pieces and TLG finally gave us a set at a great price! $30 well spent on this set!

Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion

October 11-14th I am pretty sure -
Benvenuto e ciao amico! Conosco un po d'Italiano. Hope you enjoy your time here!

They REALLY need to figure out what to do with that hanging tower section. It looks real goofy and sloppy with it just hanging onto the end there. I know the two sets aren't both faced the right way but still I really hope they thought that part through!

Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion
Spider-Man replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
Because that's what they gave us It's not like nobody here doesn't want to see the sets, in fact a lot of the discussion is about what the sets are going to be and what we can expect out of TLG. And as for NYCC i think that they will definitely show more stuff. They should definitely have more Hobbit stuff by then, but I also think they will show some Superhero stuff. Superheroes have a better connection to New York then they do to San Diego
