  1. In Australia also, Never received any replies to emails around April/May this year. I backed $190 worth in metal rails. :(.
  2. Doesnt seem to be, sent them a message on me-models website with no reply either. hmm
  3. Has someone got an email reply from someone at ME?, My email to Michael Melan hasn't been answered and looking for another contact.
  4. Some what out of the loop on the whole kickstarter/me-models situation and not sure where to find updates from the creators. I emailed Michael Melen at MEmodels May 5 but no reply. Its been 3 years since pledging and no update on metal rails. :(
  5. Really liking the new style of metal rails. If they rails come as one rail segment rather than rail + sleeper, that would be an absolute win.
  6. Parents originally bought 4558 early 90's, by far the most memorable. I did end up getting the double decker carriage shortly after when a family member visited Germany around that time. A few months ago I had the chances to jump at another 2 more, one being built as the original the other as the Amtrak something or rather for $250usd and 84 rails, missing the figures being the least of my problems. https://www.dropbox....vxehwh/4558.jpg Now I'm the proud owner of 3Metro's + 1 double decker. What I would do, keep it in the box, source a box in better condition if its worth it. Second go online and find a 4558 and build that. Remember to have this train still fresh in a box after 30 years is spectacular and certainly a collectors dream.
  7. Its been so long, but i cannot remember an option where i can pledge but not pay. I thought you had to pay to play? I am one of those that pledged for plenty of metal tracks. still look forward to these.
  8. I've just purchased a raspberry PI after seeing plenty of automation projects. As I have never heard of Arduino, could this also be possible to replicated with the Raspberry? i suspect the need for a power converter to produce 9v-12v.
  9. Group buy anyone? Found these last weekend in Shanghai, Pearl market in Gubei district. Initial price for the minifigs was 20rmb(2.80eur), but you could score them for 5rmb (0.70eur). lol, anyway real lego sells for stupid prices in China, definitely bubble tax.
  10. 7x 9v motors keep me happy but seriously toying with the idea of getting one PF motor in order to run two trains on the same circuit with options to start and stop either one. I will continue to purchase metal rails if needed. I'm mostly looking forward to sbrick, and the modding community (if there is one) to introduce some nice automation applications, most likely with PF than 9v.
  11. Shinkansen would be awesome, but for this to work it would need to be a creator edition with some rights from Japan Railway to really make the set as authentic as possible.
  12. thats 260 backers that will be extremely happy to receive these later in the year :). just to put it into perspective approx. $335 was the average per funder. Looking forward to this, Thank you Eric and the ME team.
  13. Metal $49 + $75 packages done plus shipping to Aus Looking forward to seeing this get funded.
  14. Would like to know how many straight/curved/ you are running for this setup. Also my guess is you've added 12V motors to Emerald night?
  15. Me and several friends are already keen as for this set. Just hope the price in Australia isn't outrages like some sets. :/
  16. Thank you for that. gives me a rough Idea how large my table will need to be. Look forward to following your posts Arjen.
  17. Good to see some automation, looking forward to what the next 5 years of creative will bring to Lego. Do you have a photo of your train layout, and how many straight/curved you used to make this?
  18. Came from Shanghai to visit family/friends and get a few things done here and randomly stumbled across brickvention. Hit up the last session today (sunday). Was pleasantly surprised. the kid in me is about to burst out. Would have loved to meet some of mlug guys, perhaps next time im in town and there's a smaller meet.
  19. what characters did you use for the number plate?
  20. This is dangerous... Seems like I'll be backtracking some sets from the 90's now :( Thanks PsyKater The whole Shipping/location will be a challenge, I may just get lazy and have to pay the price with 2/3 sellers rather than 6/7 sellers.
  21. Me being a Polish guy from Australia who up until last year lived in Tokyo for 8 years, and dont watch japanese cartoons... i have to say this is pretty awesome for the fact that my fourth and last apartment in Tokyo looked almost like this minus the multi coloured doors and orange roof and an extra 4 rooms wider. How many pieces in all?
  22. Got them , confused why there are two copies for some, darker scans and lighter scans, ohh well got them. One problem is there is no XML sheet added so hard to import into bricklink to get the parts :(. none the less, cheers amte. I may take a shot at at $10 instruction/xml package of a modular set I fancy. Since I havnt played with lego for over 14/15years it may be a good idea. That guys layout is nice i admit, some structures will fit right in if I adjust the height of the old lego and add abit to the back of the structure to fill it up (sort of looking at "lightningtiger'S" direction with his Munnun setup. (http://www.eurobrick...ic=71177&st=400) I find having the old light gray road plates both with the walk way a challenge, seems like $200-300 will need to be dropped to get the darker colors for the modular setup and sell me old gray road plates to somewhat fund it. I'll think about that when i eventually get back to Australia and have a place to build my lego city I'm sold on your pictures, I will definetly extend it in some ways, and add a rear wall to it to give it a nice 360deg/ modular look to it. You're right in the yellow looking somewhat odd. Since I come from Melbourne Australia (http://www.gerasimon...eet_station.jpg) I would like to keep it somewhat Yellow, but adding some gray/tan perhaps may also work to give it a Modular look/feel along with extending it to perhaps a third level but still keeping it with the 4554 style lego released it with. Looks like this set will stay with me :) The 6394 is definetly one of my top 5 sets. I remember scrolling through someones flickr set and he had a ferrari modular building, I would like to consider making an addittional Shell & Octan petrol(gas) station modular set. Dont know How it would come out but using some old elements would be sweet. Regular Lego City sets dont make the old system look that much outdated I find, other than the vechiles being 6stud. But the modular buildings really bring Lego out to a new era. btw, anyone have XML for all the modular sets? well the first 3 ever released at least?. Tim.
  23. I'm not sure how keen I am to smash up all the old shell/octan/fire stations/police etc for the sake of rebuilding modular buildings, I'd like to keep them for the nostalgic reason. Wondering how some of you oldschool collectors mix and match your old system lego with the modular setups? The modular sets seems to be a brick or two higher in scale than any of the old sets :/ Only building that just may suit this modular style would be the 4554 Yellow 1990's train station, I'm heavily considering to do this to turn mine it into a modular in some way http://brickthorpe.f...low-station.jpg What is everyones experience purchasing modular instructions off ebay?
  24. perhaps its been asked, but why is this train classified as a creator set?
  25. I own one of this set, however after yesterdays bump I hit up BL and purchsed aprts to make another 4 in light gray color.
