  1. This is around the time i started to lose interest in lego. I owned the metroliner, and really wanted a new passenger train and this didn't do any justice with the whole futuristic shape, yellow/black, it seemed more in place with a space set than city set. Even to this day I wouldn't consider buying it except if it was for the same $90 you got it for I would consider buying it for the motor and parts.
  2. Just wondering how all the 9v guys go about getting power connected to their transfer tables/turn tables? or are the trains PF?
  3. Does the 8404 contain and rare lego parts? I'm tossing up between buying this tram and turn it into a monorail, purchase the parts from bricklink and build it it :/
  4. I've just put in an order for some of these parts to make 3 short tankers... or perhaps 2 long tankers 6 top and bottom cylinders in total. One thing I have 2 freight trains (red 9v & Maersk and 2 80's/90's locomotives?, I'm sure these tanks would look ok with these oldschool black trains. Since getting back into lego last month, I've spent way to much at bricklink.... :(. worst thing is the parts are being delivered to my parents home while i'm living in Shanghai. Time to talk to the company for an internal transfer so i get can get busy with my lego bricks :)
  5. That's half a racing circuit almost. Would love to Ed. Video of this... Well a cut down version. I donning my brain could handle 1:55hrs
  6. the amount of times i gawked at the lego catalogue photos and the boxes at the toy store wishing it was in my set. Awesome review!
  7. Would consider buying this. Does the plumber come with his trademark crack also? good stuff mate
  8. Only on the forums for a few days, loving the mini mocs but each time i see one this comes to mind. http://www.thepunch.com.au/images/uploads/zoolander_school_1.jpg I haven't seen any city setups with mini mocs yet, seem to find only regular modular set ups. if anyone has a link to one I'd appreciate it
  9. This opens up a new weld of possibilities. Laptops, android and iOS devices will make use of it with apps. Controlling things such as street lighting, movement of trains and monorail ... Mmm Cannot wait, hopefully there will be something to integrate this with us 9v track guys :)
  10. That clears it up, I guess two 9v motors will be overdoing it for the setup i plan on having. Seems like you have to pack up your setup after playing with it each time, time to move the bed outside on the balcony and build a table inside :) Thanks
  11. I'm speechless along with 100% of the posters here. I absolutely love the 6399 Airport Shuttle. A set I could only have dreamt about. Do you have any plans on perhaps transforming the 8404 public transport tram into monorail perhaps? or run both at the same time?.
  12. 12fps at almost 3min. thats alot of moving around. Really enjoyed it, also the motion effect with the caravan at the beginning put a smile on my face. well done.
  13. thanks you guys, Lots of old sets in there. I've just stumbled across bricksetforum and worldbricks catalogues. My my, as you said townsman, it does bring back alot of memories. I still have every set since day 1, and I'm trying to make a catalogue of each and every set i can remember. I may have 2/3 boxes from the big train sets still, however I have kept each and ever instruction that I can remember. Pitty I cannot just download all the instructions in a zip file and be done with it :(. One more thing, I have gotten pdf's of catalogue through to 2010, any way of getting 2011 catalogues and possibly 2012 pdf's also? Loving the forums, all these city MOC's are making my mind run wild. I think eventually when I build my town on a table it'll be split into two sides with a 80cm river (harbour/beach side. one side with the classic sets, other side with mountains and MOCs. first its time to call the bank for a loan :/
  14. Ohh what, if only i came across this forum before I left Tokyo a few months ago. I used to drive down to odaiba on weekends for the hell of it to get out of tokyo when there was little time, one place i always poped into or made the effort to pop into was the lego store. I've always wanted to head into Machida store, but never got a chance, anyone got details on this store? I read it was different to other stores. I remember reading that there was a lego exhibition west of Japan, above kyushuu/okayama area in 2010, and also a lego land/theme park in Nasu also, any details on these?
  15. Been on the forums for a few days, I've done a search for scale tech and can't seem to find it in the train resource guide. What are the different scales mention here, I've figured out n scale is narrow to which I suppose it's 4 wide?, I hear of HO, G scales also without any idea what they are. I have an ancient 9v setup so which scale would I be looking at? Can any 4.5/12/9/RC be run with any scale, or What do builders usually stick with? Thanks. EDIT: Rather than a new post, I'll add to Frank STENGEL posts jsut below with this from Wikipedia on scale information. Wikipedia on Scales I would love to see if someone who has a good idea on scales could get a few images put together of train/city set ups with different scales to give everyone a image of what it actually looks like.
  16. Seems like your trying to pull Netherlands with 5motors? Lol Without starting a new thread wondering if anyone can tell me how man cars the maersk train will Pull with one 9v motor and even perhaps an incline to 13blocks high?
  17. bricklink is the I purchased the Maersk train last year as it looked pretty sweet, thinking to myself that this would look awesome next to my tv. Only a few weeks ago i discovered this forum and bricklink. I remember my sets that i used to own, i remember which pieces were missing and this lead me to buying a whole bunch of brings and 9v tracks. I think I'm on about 500$ worth of brincklink purchases in a few days. :( make it worse, I'm not even living in Australia and dont know when I'll be moving back either, and all these parts are getting delivered to my parents home for when i pop over for a holiday, spend a day or two rebuilding some sets and then leave it for another year i suppose ;(. damn you bricklink :(
  18. Welcome, where in Aus are you from?
  19. Wondering how this layout is going, particularly the water/cliff side of things.
  20. champagne glass rack is an awesome touch!
  21. Suspension bridge is held with fishing line? because I cannot see anything
  22. 512 STRAIGHTS??? that works out to be about 65m in length! I think its time to rent a warehouse for your hobby :)
  23. I agree LovinLegoSince97, blue bricks under the elevated railway. I admire the vintage lego. question: the control tower above the station is that from the 12v railway crossing set?
  24. Wow, just checked out your flickr album, thats a very big setup, need a friend to play with it? I'll bring the beers.
