Am I the only one not impressed with this set? First of all, is overpriced like all recent OT sets. European prices are highway robbery. This is not a problem by itself, but as a Lego exclusive we are forced to pay full price. Some people here compare this set to the Death Star which costs 439 € at the Spanish Lego store. Recently I got one from amazon.es for 309 €, only 60 € more than the Ewok Village but twice the piece count. Half of the figures are just recycled. And the other half are rehashed, the only true new figure is Leia. The Scouts are too black, the arms should been white. Luke is nice, at least his hand is black now (not like Desert Skiff and Rancor). And Leia looks silly, ALOHA! Don't get me wrong, the set is nice but in no way I will pay 250 € for a bunch of trees, yet another speeder bike and a castaway Leia.

I just finished building the first box (4 in total) and I'm pretty happy with the model so far. To me looks like a collection of rooms inside a spherical shape. Something similar to a doll house for Star Wars. Figures are without pupils but Palpatine, Obiwan and Han Solo had pupils (new type). Obviously this doesn't matter for stormies and guards. The only figure that feels outdated is Leia, the new hair and head from 7965 are way better. It is worth it? As a (almost) pure OT fan, the answer is YEEEEES!!!! Do you like non-vehicle sets like Echo Base or Jabba's Palace? In a way the Death Star is quite similar to them.

Wonderful review! After checking all 10240's features against my 9493, I can only wonder how good is the 9493 giving the system limitations. Could you post some comparison images between these two? I want to check their relative sizes.

UCS are supposed to be "models" and regular sets "toys". However the difference is becoming less clear every year. I only collect regular sets because I prefer the "toy" look. Also, modern regular sets are sufficiently good models to me. If I want a better model I would use glue and paint instead of Lego.

I found an anniversary Endor battle in a local store. It was still at full price 119 €

Disney is making a "tabula rasa" policy, they are killing all ongoing projects even if do not actually interfere with the new movie. Also, they said that the new movie will not use any established canon. I'm really worried about two things: the perspective of no more OT sets after 2014 and, that all new sets could have a completely new aesthetic incompatible with current sets.
