  1. At the Lego Store today, there were no kids debating on whether to buy 2013 Ninjago or some Chima... ALL 2013 NINJAGO WAS GONE!! All of the employees now where blue aprons with the Chima logo plastered on it. Every employee was excited for the theme. Now then, on to my opinion of my purchases today. Ewar's Acro Fighter looks somewhat like an eagle, but I'm sure that the only reason why we want this set is because of Ewar. Sadly to say, He's Equila with a different "hat." Everything else is the same i comparison. Ring of Fire is a bit of a surprise. I thought it was "aim your ramp an launch it through the ring with failure almost every time." I set the ramp directly on the green plate base and... twice I made it through! The ring has the perfect width. The Speedorz are fun... perhaps I shall save a bit more on the game for just a bit... Razar was the reason why I bought this set today ( I wanted at least one fig from every tribe available ) and let me say, he does not disappoint! His expressions are wonder full. Heck, every minifig in the sets I bought today (perhaps besides Cragger) have excellent expressions. CHI Battles is the ideal intro set. The ramps included however are absolutely pointless. Without the rubber grip that two of today's sets ramps had, they get caught by the grippy Speedor Wheelz (couldn't resist). The challenges are various, the weakest being the one involving the cones, but the rock/leaf hazard can be flipped on either side, not to mention the palm leaves that are easy to grab to, making this the best of this set's hazards. Ultimate Speedorz Tournament (I have this strange problem calling it a Challenge) is great. You have a hazard you can't possibly miss in the Lion gate, and the ramp -> Fountain hazard mix is pretty well if I do say so myself. Plus, it includes both of the Princes. Eagle's Castle was excellent. With enough practice, the castle is very easy to open, and mostly consists of rubber bands. It doesn't have that much variety compared to the other combo Speedorz packs, but if you want to collect all of them... On a side note... Ewald is still genderless. Ewar's Acro Fighter 3/5: Just for the minifig, right? No variety at all. Ring of Fire 5/5: Works perfectly, probably the easiest to use hazards today. CHI Battles 4/5: It's hazards are, for the most part, uninteresting, but that is pretty small when compared to the Speedorz/Minifigures. Ultimate Speedorz Tournament 4/5: Not as ultimate as it seems, but has no flawed hazards. Eagle's Castle 4/5: Simple, large enough for it's price, but... Ewald... Now about the Speedorz game. If I were to compare it to Ninjago when it comes to entertainment, well it's rather boring. It's like a game of War (card game). The catch? Winner gets to pick from the top first, and the loser of the match still has a chance to win. The character cards in particular serve not other purpose either. they add nothing to how the game is played besides that. Also the Card name are Chimese AKA nonsence. I sometimes can't pronounce what they say, due to that, and that is just...why? The art is good though. Now if you were to compare a Speedor to a Spinner, the Speedorz are fun to buzz around, but there is no customization factor to it, whatsoever. Sure you can trade out Power-Upz, but they aren't added when a card is pulled (They do have cards to spotlight them though). When it comes to playing with them just because, the Speedorz are much more entertaining than watching a spinner die down, and much easier to master too. Other than that, they are a flop to me (perhaps if I were to get someone to play with me ...)
  2. At least a year-and-a-half, that's the typical $120+ set lifespan. I've heard in the UK that period can be a tad shorter.
  3. Read the previous posts in the Challenge VI thread. It'll get you up to speed quite well.
  4. It appears that in each Speedor set, there is a card for each figure showing the constraction figure of the character the group of cards corresponds to. What's interesting to note is that each minifigure has a constraction figure design.
  5. Now owning some of the sets, I'm very curious of how this show will play out... The fact that we can't decide which gender Ewald is is irritating me. I'm hoping for some info on that for the Season Preview. Also, why Season Preview. Why not a Season premiere and get on with the show!
  6. That is a lie. It's just some kid getting people excited. From what I heard it's not due until late 2014. I'm excited though, as Lego Universe was fantastic!
  7. Wonderful first review Rogue. The only thing that I would work on is the lighting. Everything is still clear enough to see, but its just a bit dark. I also suggest to check some sources. The Wolf is named Worriz. Great job, nonetheless!
  8. SCORED!!! Ring of Fire, CHI Battles, Ultimate Speedorz Tournament and Eagles Castle (funny story on that one) are MINE!! Not to mention TWO Ewar Polys! I will have opinions up later today. As you may see in my Checklist, I don't count Polys, but that's 4/37!
  9. James Benjamin There is a coupon on the back if you live near a Lego Store. Also Monster Fighters was confirmed to be discontinued this year. Besides the Haunted House that is.
  10. Does Steen Larsson wish to move to the west?
  11. True. Eurobricks contest holders are very flexible.
  12. I'll be back in a few hours... hopefully with some results! Also the above poly with Leonidas in it is the one Toys R Us has on their website.
  13. Odd I kinda guessed that from the start... I really hope they don't make Eris a "know-it-all." They say she's wise... but as Laval's friend, I hope she isn't Sensei Wu wise! Also is it just me, or does that image of Razar look like Razcal? SETS ARE NOW LIVE Also keep a look out on Lego.com's product page. Sometime in the next two days, the full Chima site should be added.
  14. The Gorilla's seem a bit dimwitted if you ask me, well, judging by the one in the commercial posted on here some days ago. So that does seem likely. Either that, or they have always been a part of the fight, but they will only fight when it is their fight to fight! (Confused?) Anyway... "The Kingdom of Chima is a world ruled by armed animal tribes. This once pristine, natural paradise is now a battle ground. The animal tribes fight for control of CHI, the ultimate source of life in Chima. Only a few brave heroes know the true nature of CHI and its importance to their world. Their stories, and the stories of those who seek to destroy them, are known as... THE LEGENDS OF CHIMA!" -USA Lego Product January 2013 Catalog, page 4. Also, Huw on Brickset posted this on his Flickr today. Sorry if the page is a tad large, but we have some info in there. This comes from a comic included (at least in the UK) in the most recent Lego Club Magazine. To end this large post... Chima is available from Lego starting tomorrow. Just thought that would be a helpful reminder, and Happy New Year!
  15. I looks like "start working on entries" as apposed to "start submitting entries." However, a freebuild is a freebuild.
  16. I don't think the second semester has gone underway yet, Kai. Si-MOCs did say that there will probably be another.
  17. There is a new, much more simpler, Cuusoo project up now for LoZ. It still looks very nice, but it has sooo much less new molds. I'm very hopeful with this one.
  18. Oh dear, that box size is going to be very misleading. Did you buy it?
  19. That is just EPIC! He needs his bongo drum, though. I don't really care though. Its still fantastic by itself. I could never replicate that, EVER!
  20. Its "chee-muh." If you have seen any of the commercials that were posted here in the past month you would have heard each announcer pronounce it as above. I was originally pronouncing it like "China," but once I figured that Chi was life force... I adapted to that. The commercials later confirmed the pronunciation, and I was happy that it didn't take me very long to adapt to it as apposed to Ninjago (nin jaw-go)
  21. It looks fantastic! You should make a separate thread for it though.
  22. This is getting tiresome...

  23. HUMMMMMMMMMMM...Two more days... HUMMMMMMMMMMMM People, please keep reporting back your findings. If there is any success today, don't be surprised that I won't be responding for some time...
