Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion
bekindsorewind replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
TRU will only price match if you have a physical advertisement of another store charging that price. You can't just go in there and say "Target has it for this much". I've tried it before, and they've had issues with price matching on their OWN website. TRU's service is just awful based on previous experiences. -

With TRU's markup for the mansion alone is 10 dollars more, you're better off paying for shipping. Plus, don't you get free shipping with orders over 25 dollars? I don't remember, I've had Amazon Prime for a while now. :) -

Rhino all the way. The trailer of the show makes them feel a lot like me in my opinion. -

Are the rhinos and bears a sneak peak for 2014 sets? If it is true that's lame, the rhino is definitely one of the coolest head molds. -
I'm wishing for a possible D2C set of a 1987 Turtles scene, with printing for the original turtles (cartoony eyes, their belts) but that will not happen sadly.

I think there is some licensing issues with some of the characters, which include Bebop, Rocksteady and the Technodrome. I don't know if this is fact or speculation, but I just remember somebody saying it.

TRU.com is listing the Star Slicer now, and it's apparently a TRU exclusive as well. No markup... yet.

I saw the Golden Dragon as TRU today for $32.99.

Hello all, I'm here to inform fellow LEGO fans of an incident that I encountered with a fairly popular channel some of us may know on YouTube. I am talking about "brickshowtv." On their recent review of the Temple of Light, they are misinforming viewers about a very important factor when it comes to a set: the price. They are stating the set is $60, while the set is $70. Some people may know that these guys are very well-known for their constant mistakes in names of sets, or just being clueless about a set. What bugs me about this is that people (including children) are being told information that is very important. Imagine a child being told this information, saving up the money, and when they finally go to the store, they see the price is not what their favorite reviewers told them it was. It's all-around just laziness. Now, when I commented about this, they responded when my comment was attracting attention. Now, I would show you all my comment, but I can't as they deleted the comments. However, I am able to show you their original comment towards me: "remember the review is of the set, not whether or not every detail of the price is accurate. We post videos so people can see the set and decide if they want it, we do not worry about the price as much as we want to give the best view of the set to those watching. and brickset does not have prices up for awhile after sets are released usually" They are addressing Brickset because I stated that Brickset is a much more reliable source than Brickipedia IMO. Now, what their comment sounds to me, is that they don't feel that price is a very important factor in a set, as stated they "do not worry about the price". Now, let me ask you my fellow LEGO fans, has price for an object ever been a factor in your purchases at some point? I understand Brick Show does not as they seem to not even look at the price tag when they buy these sets. However, for most people, especially children, price is a very important factor. Now, what's even more interesting, is a few months ago I asked them a question about their ratings for some Monster Fighters sets. Fortunately, I do have these comments. These can be found on their Ghost Train review. My comment: "So you say this is the best MF set (pre-release review), yet it doesn't get the highest ratings? The Mummy got all 9, this should've gotten almost 9.5 for young kids and 9 for the other groups. Shows that you don't really put too much thought into the ratings nowadays : )" Brickshowtv's response: "the ratings are based on the price point alot. not many kids can afford this set, but most can the mummy, and thats a great small set that doesnt cost much, and we love the glow in the dark skeleton horse" Now, doesn't this sound a little different than what they say now? In fact, this sounds the exact opposite from their first comment I quoted. This just proves that they are wrong, they know they messed up, but they won't admit it and won't fix the problem. So what do they do? Delete my criticism and respond with a point that makes no sense (which as I can see, they deleted as well.) To conclude, these reviewers cannot handle criticism and cannot admit they are not supreme. They don't allow free speech on their channel and I have proven they have very inconsistent beliefs. Please brickshowtv, if you read this (and I know they have an account here) please explain your points and why you have done these actions to me. : ) I hope you all a happy holiday and hope I have educated you all about these people.

If i had the money, I would've definitely bought the Shellraiser as an ordinary purchase as opposed to a Christmas wish, even with the TRU markup. It's been one of my most anticipated sets, and I love the color scheme of the Shellraiser itself.
-
Usually TRU loves to put new products out after their BOGOs or anything like it. Unless someone is desperate in need for these sets, I wouldn't find much point in buying them from TRU right now. ($35 for Shredder's bike?!)
-
Ordered the Shellraiser today from Toys R Us. It's a jump in price, but it'll be here for Christmas so it's fine with me.
-
I'm excited for these to hopefully show up on S@H tomorrow! The orange robot looks much better in HQ pics and the green set is great.
-
Since Galaxy Squad is mentioned in Toys R Us' latest ad, does that mean they should be showing up any day now?

The Tin Soldier's my favorite, so I'm bummed he might be in the book only. Which means he won't be out until May, and no multiples!- 1,076 replies

Creating new molds?
bekindsorewind replied to bekindsorewind's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Physical, and isn't this the Customization subforum? -
Hi, I was wondering if there is a website who makes custom molds by request? If not, is there a tutorial or process on how to make a custom mold?

Legends of Chima 2013

The castle sounds like the only set I'd be remotely interested in if done right. It's be cool if nests were made as the top of towers or something. Hopefully the castle itself will look like a real castle with machine elements built on to it rather than a blue castle which would look ugly IMO. -
The biggest set is basically Mars Mission 2.0, which is a step backwards for LEGO IMO. Most seemed really unappealing and the humans look like recolored ADU soldiers. Will sadly be passing this theme most likely.

Just finished building Bag End. Absolutely amazing, the lush colors and new pieces are amazing. It's nice to get a peaceful set as opposed to conflict, a common theme in the licensed world. The box is downsized to make it feel more "full." My favorite minifigure has to be Bilbo himself, I just love his happy smile on his face.

My favorite minifigure of this wave. I'm pleased they made her.

It looks to be the color of Wolverine's suit. That would be disappointing for me.
