This Italian page states that it's a very limited edition, though not for sale (while that's just unlimited misinformation, reading JB's words).

Power Miners: New Sets for 2009
The Cobra replied to cartoondude's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
That's mine too. -
Yay! another Paisà joining this great community!
-
Because in LDD car doors are ONLY available in red. Wow, I'm happy to inspire people. And I love that Shell truck too.
-
I also voted average, and only beacuse of the dragon. IMHO, castle sets in those year had awful colours; I hardly like a few of them. Anyway, cool review.

This has been on my PC for a while. Click for full size.

Exactly. TLC should focus more on their own themes.

Review: 6772 Alpha Team Cruiser
The Cobra replied to The Cobra's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
As The Pillows would sing, "I think I can". Fact is, the copter is obviously not MISB either, so it's a bit more difficult (at least, to me) to review it as it deserves. But I'll give it a try. And thanks everyone for the feedback. -
Review: 7015: Viking Warrior challenges the Fenris Wolf
The Cobra replied to The Cobra's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I sometimes buy two of a set too, but I want to! As for FenriS, looks like it's an alternate name (while Fenrir is more more popular, both are acceptable). -
The enemy is fast. And hungry. And BIG! So da*n BIG! Set data: 7015: Viking Warrior challenges the Fenris Wolf Year: 2005 Theme: Vikings Subtheme: N/A Pieces: 76 (incl. 6 extra) Price: 5 USD / EUR / UKP Building time: less than 10 minutes MISB on review: No More info: Brickset - Peeron Front box: I love the Vikings logo! Random instructions page: wolf's rain legs The human: weapons, a place for recovery and bllody red diamonds The human: what a warrior is made of Viking's sanctuary: will a big shield and a spear be enough? The wolf: his head piece was a 2005 premiere The wolf: a side view of the leg The wolf: rear body half can rotate thanks to a Technic pin The wolf: head close-up The wolf: headless body Set overview: The viking surely has its hands full; will it be the same for wolf's mouth? Review: Smallest set in the line, it keeps the idea of men vs animals that will be the line's leitmotif; isn't that Aqua Raiders concept too?. A good choice of weapons for the man (diamonds ended up in 7020's trasure chest before they got lost). The wolf is really good: scary big compared to the minifig, maybe odd beacuse of the pieces it's built with. Set is still available on the bay, but usually expensive (10 Euros, that's 2x RRP. I was lucky to buy one for less than 6 Euros incl. S/H). Extra pieces include an horn and the usual Technic small parts. The only down side is that this can hardly be an army builder, unless you want an army of wolves too. Rating: 4/5

Welcome the woman amongst action men: Alpha Team's first Lady, Radia! Set data: 6772: Alpha Team Cruiser Year: 2001 Theme: Alpha Team Subtheme: N/A Pieces: 56 (no extra) Price: 7 USD / EUR / UKP Building time: less than 15 minutes MISB on review: No More info: Brickset - Peeron Box / instructions front: the Lady and the beast Box / instructions rear: cool alternate models Random instructions page: building on a wing (and a prayer?) The girl herself: makeup and hair matching bodysuit main colour. The cockpit: front view The cockpit: side/rear view The rear: featuring an hinged trans neon green radar dish The rear: main engines (thumbs up to who chose to use flames!) Thrusters: front and rear Thrusters: sides Complete model: all hinges flat Posabilty: choose how to place side thrusters and radar dish Comic page: came at the end of the instructions booklet. Actually, Radia has neither radio nor binoculars. Secret code: to unlock some content on then-AlphaTeam site Review: I bought the 6773 Copter in my dark years, and thought it would be cool to own another AT set. This one is quite cheap (I Paid 7 Euros incl. S/H, isn't that a deal?), but really a good one. All AT sets feature the same colour scheme (varying in the 3 different lines, this one being the original before Mission Deep Sea and Arctic Alpha Team), and this is a really good one, with lots of trans neon green pieces; purple is good too. No printed pieces but only three stickers, and that's a pro to me. Unfortunately, no accessories at all. Excellent model design with 3 well placed hinges. And, hey! A female minifig! Rating: 4/5

Shop @ Home hat the Assault Tiger at half price for most European countries. Didn't check NA and AUS/NZ.

For all those people whose favourite colours are black and blue (that of course includes us fans of Internazionale F.C.), here's your Tiny Turbo! Set data: 8151: Adrift sport Year: 2008 Theme: Racers Subtheme: Tiny Turbos Pieces: 52 (no extra) Price: 5 USD / 5 EUR / 3 UKP Building time: less than 10 minutes MISB on review: Yes More info: Brickset - Peeron Box front: classic TT box, not much to say. Box rear: combine it with 8148 for an alternate "supermodel". Box content: 1 bag, instructions and stickers. Sticker detail: it's hard to tell from here, but these are mirror stickers! Instructions: first half of the supermodel instructions to be found in 8148. Pieces: in 2008, Tiny turbos include "glow in the dark" elements. And they do glow! Building: it's obviously easy with such few pieces. M.I.P. (Most interesting Piece): courtesy of Peeron, 'Plate 1 x 2 with Racer Grille 4 x 1 x 2/3' Splitting the model: car base, and 3 big parts. Sticker effect: flash reflection on paper The model: two shots for complete view. Review and rating: Small / cheap sets always are my favs. Tiny Turbos are generally nice, adding Glow in the dark pieces is a great way to get more interest. And I guess many fans of the old faithful 4-wide vehicles are into TTs. One will hardly buy these sets for building fun alone, but their playability (and displabilty) are surely worth the money. I told you, I like these colours, but I Like the shape also; good detailing, obviously thanks to stickers too. And, it's not difficult to find a TT 0,5 or 1 Euro cheaper than RRP. In its category, to me it's 5/5.

I really like the Diner, the BBQs and the Desk light (it would work great with those big 70s figs).

Review: 7979 Castle Advent Calendar (First Look)
The Cobra replied to brickbitz's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I like it. I was 99% willing to buy it, and now I'm 100%. -
Thanks! Well...

Could someone help me out with this piece please?

Here's a couple of shots I hope they can help. -
Sometimes there's no need for a big ambulance; sometimes you only need a doctor to get there. Fast! Set data 7902: Doctor's car Year: 2006 Theme: City Subtheme: Emergency Pieces: 66 (3 extra) Price: 6 USD / EUR / 4 UKP (UK price may have been higher in the past) Building time: less than 10 minutes More info: Brickset - Peeron Box front: no frills, just the set. Box back: no alternate models, but "Designed for easy building and istant play". I still wonder if today's kids are lazier or dumber than my generation... Box content: 2 bags, loose car base, instructions, stickers. (not so) Random manual page: the evolution of SNOT tecnique on car lights. Set inventory: split into 2 pages! Stickers: Red Cross has gone a long time ago; here's Caduceus. Loose pieces: we're ready to start! Minifig and accessories: "What's up, Doc?" M.I.P. (Most Interesting Piece): it's SNOT time! Building starts: and it's fast and easy Notes: car has doors! and that black plate with rail helps so that the roof doesn't only weight on the windscreen. Complete model: top view "Container Cupboards": that's where Doc puts its accessories when driving. Sticker time: see the difference, with and without. Review and rating. Do you remember when Lego cars had doors? It seems so long ago... The car is simple; but as well as a set can be designed, this one doesn't look so realistic (isn't it what Lego has been doing over the last few years? Going realistic?) Doc is OK, but I guess many people would have wanted a female fig (and: brown eyebrows with black hair? that's odd ) As I said, no Red Cross, but a politically correct Caduceus on the roof and sides. Extra pieces: 1 small antenna and 1 1x1 decorated tile. Overall, a cheap way to own a doctor minifig and a nice vehicle to add to your town. Just above average. Rating: 3.5/5

So, no Castle Advent Calendar in North America. But what about the rest of the world? I'd like to know if in your country you can buy every Lego set or no. Or, better: list sets that are NOT available in your local shops. tbc = to be confirmed ITALY - 2008 Mars Mission - Full line Batman - Full line Castle - 7041 Troll battle wheel <- has been spotted in an Auchan mall, priced 40 Euros as it should be. Impulse - 5618 Troll warrior - 5619 Crystal hawk - 5620 Street cleaner - 5621 Coast guard kayak Agents - 8637 Volcano base City - 7235 Police motorbike (2008 edition, with blue stickers) Spongebob - Full line Belville - Full line Star wars - sadly, some sets are marked as "Limited edition" (usually limited to Toys center) To the best of my knowledge, Castle Advent calendar was only spotted in Bossi mall (Saronno), while I have no proof of City Advent calendar sightings in any Italian shop. They both were listed in the Italian paper catalog. ITALY - 2007 Mars Mission - 7691 ETX Alien Mothership Assault, 7693 ETX Alien Strike, 7695 MX-11 Astro Fighter. Aqua Raiders - Full line (available in 2008 in one toy store chain only) Castle - 7009 The final joust 7907 City Advent Calendar 7898 Cargo train deluxe and 10182 Cafè Corner are now available (September '08). Please note that all of the above sets are available for Italy on Shop@Home.

That Impulse set is great! (and better than all of 2008 city Impulse sets?)

Power Miners: New Sets for 2009
The Cobra replied to cartoondude's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Ok, let's wait. Up to now, those sets look to me close to awful. -
I think it's no good to laugh at people's bad luck, but now North Americans know how it feels. Just like I felt about Advent Calendars until 2007, or Mars Mission, or Aqua Raiders, or 7009 The Final Joust, or the Troll Battle Wheel, and the list can go on and on.
