I know this topic is nearly one year old, but I'd like to have an answer to Holodoc's question. I've only seen pics from the Lego site with the blue stickers on the 7235 bike, but no "actual" photo.

Great review. As for the set, I voted average, for two reasons: 1) The van looks a bit odd to me. 2) Instead of these they should have used these , to have more room in the back. Yet, I own one.

Toys center 20% still available: City: 7738 and 7726 (Coast guard), 7945 and 7239 (Fire) Creator: 4993, 4995, 4996 and 6161 Technic: 8271, 8291, 8292 ad 8294 Duplo: 4975, 4986, 5416, 5593

Searching Lego.com oroducts (english version) I've only been able to find the 3 Mars Mission Impulse sets, the two old castle sets and the Coast Guard Kayak. That means, 6/12 (and 2/4 of the newest). Still, all 12 sets seem to be available on S@H.

I think that ¤ should be read as Euro. As for the set: outstanding.

ARTICLE: Set Design, Playability, and Other Considerations
The Cobra replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Town
Let's see... Price (How much is it?) -> of course. I mean, we have the internet, we how much it should cost, so way pay more? And, with all the info we have, it's not that hard to find a good deal. Value (Is the set worth the price/piece or other value ratio?) -> a good point, mostly to drop some sets not worth buying. Playability (Will it give you some play or fun - swoosh value?) -> that would have counted 25 years ago. But I think there would be no problem playing with any of the sets I own if I were a kid today. Design (How is the overall quality of the design?) -> not necessairly. If it's cheap, has some pieces I never owned, maybe a could minifig, who cares if it looks lame designed? Integration (Will it fit within my existing Tabletown or collection?) -> no. If i like, it WILL fit. Theme (Is it a theme I value or collect other sets to?) -> Sure. I'd love to own at least a set of each theme and subtheme. Rating (How do other AFOL feel about this set?) -> no. I really like Vladek's encounter, but the poll shows many people don't. Oh well, whatever. Visual Quality (How "cool" does it look? or does it look like a Classic Town set?) Maybe. Still, a set out of the box (and built by yourself) will usually look n times better than any of the pictures you've seen so far. Pieces (Does this set contain special pieces that you need or want?) -> Yay! But that's a plus, not the main reason I'd buy a set for. Minifigs (Does this set have minifigs that you want?) -> Yes. A new/cool torso, or wig, or head or accessory. That can make a difference. Build (Do you prefer an easy or more complex build?) -> I open the bags, put all the pieces on the table, mix them and THEN start building. Other Considerations (you may have other considerations when buying a set). -> It's an old set and I've been wanting it for years! -
Last set I bought was 6891, about one year after it came out (summer '86; I was getting closer to 13). As legotrainfan wrote, I was thinking I was too old. Still, I kept an eye on what was going on thanks to a friend / former classmate / fellow townsman / who used to buy one or two small sets every year and show me the cataolgue. Still, it took a few years to give my Lego away (to a cousin). Oh, why did I do it? I've been on the net since 2000 and using DSL since 2002, yet I only started checking Lego in 2005, I think, and then bought a coupleof MISB Helicopters (7044 and 7663) plus some used stuff. So 2007 was my comeback year (see my collection following the link in my signature). But, over these last three or four years, I've been thinking that Lego had its dark years too, form 1997 (the beginning of juniorization) to 2004 or 2005 (I'm mostly basing my judgement on City; other themes may be good or bad)

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I too thought the idea of having each knight of a different colour was odd. As for the armor plates, Danju's doesn't look so bad to me; I mean, Jayko's looks like a pijama! And what about the shileds? I mean, what did lions do to deserve such a silly design as the one on Rascus shield? Torso printing: I think it's waste on an armored minifig. Still, I didn't expect that so many people didn't like the set (or the KK2 line).

Here's my August + September.

Sorry, item is not available in this country: Italy.

As for the insurance, I can tell. As for all the rest... The Italian message "Il mio nome è Adrian Pana e vivo a Roma, Italia..." has been translated by Google or something like that; too much nonsense. Adrian Pana, if it's a real name, sounds like a Romanian one. Most boxes are not Italian. We don't have set name, piece count and so on. In this picture you can read a date; any Italian would write it 16-9-08 (day, month year). Ok, may I've been watching too many Law & Order episodes...

Still, I'd had loved if the used the pizza tiles (which I never owned! Damn dark years!) And, great review. As for the set, I'm getting the Castle Advent calendar for sure, and wait for this one to be on sale (or at least a few bucks cheaper).

I think it would be great! But figures must come disassembled, like in the 80s and 90s, not like those Knights and Skeletons battle packs!

The line was the best in its theme; and this set was the best in its line. That's IMHO, of course. Set data: 6773: Alpha Team Helicopter Year: 2001 Theme: Alpha Team Subtheme: N/A Pieces: 77 (+1 extra trans red 1x1 round plate) Price: 10 USD / EUR / UKP Building time: less than 10 minutes MISB on review: No More info: Brickset - Peeron Box / instructions front: what you see is what you get! Box / instructions back: cool alternate models. Random instruction page: the hose reel, the string and the hook. Minifig close-up: his name is Dash! The cockpit: on a single-piece Landing skids, there lies a boat base plate! Cockpit includes a monitor and binoculars. Snot time! Technic way. Copter features: a "camera" (which I've been calling a bazooka since my early years) and a "space scanner tool" Don't ask me Dash: I don't know what those flexible hoses are meant to be! Tail: with a Jet engine that's supposed to help the copter turn fast! Ready to take off: copter is complete The man and the machine: ready to save the day A view from the queue: Copter have a b-side too. Oh, and that's the extra 1x1 round plate. Why storing insted of using? Comics page: learn how to take down enemies in a non-violent (?) way! Review: Before I seriosuly got back into Lego, The only MISB sets I've bought in my thirties (breaking a streak that lasted since I was 13) were two Copters. City's 7044 and this one. 7044 is surely bigger and more detalied and realistic, but has some lacks (the only way to place pilots in the cockpit is to un-build the upper part of the copter!); the Alpha Team one to me is just perfect. Small and agile, looking cool in those black, yellow and trans neon green colours, not many frills but quite detailed. Very few stickers (3), only a printed piece (the radar screen) and actually in some way no minifig accessories (they're all in/on the mech), but still not missing anything to me. The fig itself is great (ok, except for that odd hair!) with its suit and his stubble and grin (face piece is exclusive to this set). Cheap set too, since RRP was 10 bucks; that's cheaper than 2008 police copter (which I think is just an averege set). Rating: you guessed it - 5/5.

For a few years, many Lego characters were unique and each had a name; that mostly happened with Adventures and Castle. So, get ready to meet brave knight Danju and evil Vladek Set data: 8777: Vladek's enconunter Year: 2004 Theme: Castle Subtheme: Knight's Kingdom Pieces: 42 (+mini packaging with 3 cards and special instructions) Price: 9/10 USD / EUR / UKP Building time: less than 10 minutes MISB on review: Yes More info: Brickset - Peeron Box front: as you can see by set name and details, I bought (on the net) in the U.S. of A. Box back: no chance of alternate models, so let's show some action. Box content: loose horse, loose barding, pieces bag, cards bag, instructions. Cards front and rear; English and French instructions: big images, so I'm posting thumbnails. Random instructions shot: building the catapult. Loose pieces: let's get ready to build! Danju: The Knight of the Wolf wears purple and gold. Vladek: now, isn't he evil? The catapult: it works good; comes with three "bullets". Catapult - complete: plus extra horse pieces. Catapult complete: a view fom the front Full set: who's gonna win this battle? Comic page: all KK set were shown as comics in the instructions book. Review: While in my dark years and searching on the net for what I've been missing, I thought this was a good set; that's probably why I bought two of them at once. Danju looks good, his face is exclusive to his character (see here) and waaaay better than the stupid face of the good knight in set 7009. And Vladek is impressive, with his helmet and armor and barded horse. And a scary face. Plus, the "bad guys" really look great in their dark colours with the Scorpion emblem. The catapult is ok, I think kids can enjoy it. This could be a 5/5 set, but it's really overpriced (just as some other KK sets). 10 bucks? You can buy a 7091 with that money, and it comes with twice as much minifigs and a much larger shooting machine. A small con is that there were too many Vladeks (I own 7 KK sets and 4 of him!), but you can just think of it as a mounted soldier. Rating: 4/5

Italy Iper: - buy the 7743 Police command center (39,90) within the next two weeks and get a 11,97 coupon to use on any nonfood purchase over the following two weeks. - Racers 8490, 8491, 8492 and 8493 are 8 Euros each instead of 10. - Speed racer 8158 and 8159 are 15 Euros each instead of 20. Toys center: 20% off (their prices, that might be higher than S@H) on these sets City: 7738 and 7726 (Coast guard), 7945 and 7239 (Fire) Creator: 4993, 4995, 4996 and 6161 Technic: 8271, 8291, 8292 ad 8294 Duplo: 4975, 4986, 5416, 5593 Edit: sorry, this Toys center thing is about to end tomorrow.

Sets with sorted bags; worth the extra expense?
The Cobra replied to Siegfried's topic in General LEGO Discussion
That's right! And I built King castle's siege that way! -
Is packaging made of gold in France?
The Cobra replied to Hinckley's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
I checked Poste Italiane; Pacco ordinario is the cheapest (and obviously slowest) way to send a package; unfortunately, shipping costs are not available online but only by inquiring at the local post office. On the other hand, a speed parcel service is available (Pacco celere internazionale), which is supposed to reach the U.S. within 3 days. Sending 0,5 KG costs 41,55 Euros. (You may add 5,68 for insurance). Yeah, that's quite a lot. -
Amazing review (and amazing set too!)
-
That would be a pity. Trouble is, the 2009 list that's been around for a while includes 6 (six) Bionicle Impulse sets. I hope they didn't trade City for Bionicle, because that would be a shame, IMHO.

Check this topic. Too bad those sets never hit the shops. Edit: wallpapers still available, though.

The three most memorable moments in a video game for you
The Cobra replied to AgentRick's topic in Culture & Multimedia
1) Bubble bobble (on C64): I used to play with 2 joysticks by myself, so I had the blue dragon killed instead of my green one. That allowed me to 1) get the silver door at levels 20, 30, 40, 80 and 90. 2) Complete the game without ever being killed. <- now, that's a memorable moment! 2) Wing Commander (on PC): I finished the game. The first time I ever completed it, I didn't know it was the last mission and ejected. Then I replayed it (and got killed some times). Then I completed BUT with my last missile I took down my mission partner! (eventually, I trashed the enemy ship with laser cannons only!). After a few more times, I did it without ejecting and without killing a friend. But I got disappointed I didn't get thw medal that was described as the "greatest achievement for a pilot" or something like that. 3) World series of poker (on PC): I won a tournament for the first time. -
Thanks everyone for the feedback. @Manta: well, LDD might not be easy sometimes, but if you experiment you can make some really nice models. @ Guss: I'm a (kind of) bassist, but back in my early teen days, when I was MOCing with real bricks, I wanted to be a drummer.

If we're talking about sets from 5618 to 5621, I haven't seen them anywhere in Italy too, but they have been available somewhere in Switzerland (Migros @Serfontana, in Chiasso) since early August. While sets from 5610 to 5617 have been in shops since January, and most still are (prices vary from 2,75 to 3,50 Euro).
