  1. Maybe some on at the toy fair tomorrow will be sneaky with Google glass or something and we'll get illegal pics. However convenient that may be, EB may not allow them here. Is that right? Eurobricks needs a beat reporter :)
  2. Right there with you. Now if we were talking Gandalf army building I think I, and many others, would have enough of that dang fig to make an army big enough to level all middle earth. TLG, can we please have no more gandalfs???? And bilbo too...
  3. Nobrux, I agree on the in-depth hood discussions. Good analysis here of the hood crisis. I'm happy at least we've moved on from the windlass debate. Sorry guys, just having some fun. :) Can't wait for some pics and then we can get a bit of a break from speculation and on to some actual analysis. When is the earliest we might see images of all this drool-worthy stuff?
  4. This is just awesome. Love it. The connections for your lighthouse are creative, I always love miniscale ships, the house partway up the mountain, all winners
  5. Personally, I'm disappointed that smaug will be molded. Like it was said above, that big a mold is action figurish. This is lego after all, lets build something. Something like the ninjago dragons but.... better.
  6. I really like the photo-editing on this. Perfect place for the mustache. Maybe we'll see more western mocs with the lego movie stuff on shelves. Anyways, I like the simple but effective interior to their building.
  7. Super lush scenery. Really fun moc with an average- joe looking fig. I like it.
  8. Prancing pony. Minifigs aside, I've got a soft spot for tavern/inns type stuff. It'd be up to TLG to be creative with cool figs.
  9. This will be an excruciating wait for these toy fairs and comic cons to happen. How AWESOME would it be just to get a tiny kernel of info? We talk and debate for pages based on almost nothing, think if there were some glimmer of info? I can't wait! I guess I'll choose to be optimistic.
  10. I like this build. I think it's deceptively simple, but the red leaves, cobbled path, and trees are terrific. A lot of character in a small footprint.
  11. This looks amazing. Unique build and looks sort of difficult to pull off.
  12. Hi all. Ive been a frequent eb visitor for over a year. Ive been a member for a while but only now started posting. I'm looking forward to contributing. Thanks!
  13. These non LOTR movie tie ins are really muxing up our stuff. I will see the lego movie with my son, but not many of the sets will make it our house. Good move for lego, but as stated above, it really is squeezing our chosen line. I am really hoping theres some interesting hobbit sets still to come to ease some of the sting.
  14. The twisted tree really is great and the mock is terrific with or without your lighting. Nice work.
  15. It really does seem to be a mixed bag of customer rep replies. One thing that we can pretty much lay to bed is 2014. I don't think there will be any LOTR this year. As others have said, there is just not enough room on the shelves for the current Hobbit line, tons -seriously-, tons of Lego Movie sets and merchandise, a third Hobbit wave, and more in 2014. If we want to keep up hope, 2015 is where it's at. No Hobbit and no Lego movie. I just hate waiting and the unknown. I wonder what TLG will slot into the open spaces in that year.
  16. Just got laketown escape. I really like this from this line. Love thorins torso print and bards hair and head. Really all the figs are great. The parts are pretty nice too especially the fish shields. It didnt seem like many were all too excited by this one but I like it.
  17. Hi group. This has taken about half an hour of work on my part to try to scale this screen shot because I couldn't figure out how to PM ZCerb. Oh well, this is what I came up with and I seriously doubt it will be embedded. Now I'm done, take it or leave it. I'll post the other one in my next reply. Thanks for the discussion..... Well, it looks like I can only upload the one. I think because I'm new. The other was just a lower shot of the email with the rest of the text. I don't think anyone cares any longer anyways. Yeah, the Gondor Soldier on the right looks really good. That game had a lot of unique and quality looking figs. If only....
  18. Thanks for the feedback darthpunk, I didnt really think posting that would lead to an argument about my veracity. But oh well. I may send a screen to a moderator today. I just thought it was an interesting piece to this puzzle. Anyway, do you think TLG realizes that snagging second wave sales may be due to poor set decisions rather than lack of interest? Or does the reason not matter, just the bottom line? I think it should matter as there could be a lot of money on the table for them if they chose the "right" sets to produce.
  19. I can see where you're coming from as it is my first post, but I have to start somewhere. I could get you a screen grab from my email or you could contact them like I did. It only took a day or so to get a reply.
  20. Hi guys. I have been lurking on this forum for a while now. I just went ahead and emailed TLG via their contact us link on lego.com. Here is their reply copied from my email: "Thanks for getting in touch with us. At this time we are not certain on whether or not we will be continuing the Lord of the Rings™ theme. The LEGO® Group discontinues themes that lose popularity over time, but you're right, LoTR is a very popular theme. We are releasing more Hobbit™ sets this year. It is possible that after the Hobbit theme runs its course, we will return to classic Lord of the Rings sets. We typically run a theme for 1-3 years, unless it has an overwhelming popularity (ex. Star Wars™.) I believe LoTR has a following large enough to allow the theme to remain prominent with our company. At this time we simply do not know for certain. I hope this helps. Thanks again for getting in touch. We're always pleased to receive feedback! If you could take a moment to complete a four question survey by going to the link below, it will help us make sure we are providing the best customer service to you." So there you have it. Buy up the LOTR sets and try to move their sales needle. I really hope this is not just conjecture. I want more LOTR sets as much as we all do. I hope this sheds some light on this situation. What do you guys and gals think?
