A smile slid to Eric's face at the sight of his old friend. "A duel of cards isn't really my game. Duels with real weapons are more like my kind of thing. How have you been, Hybros? It's been a long time."

The doors of Heroica Hall opened and in stepped Eric the northman. With a bang he pushed close the heavy doors and then strode confidently, arrogantly even, forward with his usual swagger. The Nord tucked his thumbs behind his chest-armor and made his way to the bar. Eric's eyes darted from hero to hero and a mischievous look came to his face, accompanied by a trademark wolfish grin. Once at the bar he ordered the usual before heading out to the Questboard to check out some new Quests. Not surprisingly his grin widened greatly, even baring his canines. A low bestial growl emanated softly. Softly, he murmured some key words from the last Quest that caught his attention. The light in his eyes flickered. "Sisterhood...reliable...pious". Without hesitation he wrote his name beneath it. The term 'Elder Sister' was a turnoff, though. Eric's taste was broad and varied, but elderly women were a no-go. Unless they were "cougars", which changed the matter since that type of older people doesn't look old and can be quite "hot" in their own way. One must respect the elders. Still, the Nord hoped that there'd be younger Sisters at the conclave, too. He had never had a sister before. At least a religious Sister of Danab, anyway. Happily, Eric returned to the bar. He wanted a brief moment of silence after another busy Quest of dealing with that onbnoxious Dwarf. Eric signs up for Quests #129 and #130.

I believe it was Pretzel, like Pie said. But Nur would be great, too. I love Nur . We really need to do Henry's this year. I have no clue who'd I choose as "Best Character" now, there are just so many I like. Yep, exhausting was the word I was looking for. It is very exhausting. Not only for the players, but also for the QM, I believe. I wouldn't mind a break from questing with Throlar (nothing personal against Lord Duvors), but just because it's really difficult having arguments all the time and not breaking the mood of the Quest. It's fun, but hard. That's why I had Eric "team" up with Heckz. I kind of made sense, and I wanted to get along with at least someone .

Quest #117 Some quick thoughts on this Quest. First off, I'd enjoyed it, but I really do have to admit I enjoyed it mostly because of player interactions with CutCobra and Lord Duvors than the actual story itself. Honestly, I kind of feel this was one of your "lesser" Quest. The sets were nice and I liked the characters, but the story was kind of 'meh'. Also, like you said yourself, the timing kind of dragged on at the end, but I doubt there was anything you could do, so I don't really blame you. There wasn't really much of a story, I feel. We just went from tavern to tavern . The dreams were mysterious and I kind of like that we don't know what killed Rollinger. I guess all three of us killed him in one of those dream induced by the items. I know I killed someone in a dream . I've said it before in the general discussion thread, but I really loved that we simply buried Rollinger in a ditch next to the tavern. Hooray for Heroica heroes! I love love loved the party dynamic! Rollinger trying to be the face of reason in the midst of three maniacs, that was just great . Honestly, I don't really see how it could've ended differently for the poor Paladin. You don't say 'no' to people like Eric and Heckz (and Throlar if he has one of his rage fits). Heckz is awesome. I love how he's all mean and selfish and thinks he's the best, while in reality he can be quite 'dumb' at times. He's not perfect like he thinks and that what makes him great. I love the humor of the character and reading his posts always brings a smile to my face. In any other Quest, Eric would probably see Heckz more as a rival (not an outright enemy), because they both want the same pieces of the cake: gold, fame, good looks and women. Plus, they're snarkers and very vain and arrogant. They would definitely clash. Here, Eric rather found himself in an "alliance" with the Sorceror, because Throlar united them both against him. It was lots of fun and I really hope I get to quest with Heckz again. Throlar is... Throlar. He can be weird. His moral compass is more just than that of Heckz and Eric, but he always want to rub that in people's faces which is his character flaw. That and the bouts of sudden rage don't lend him much credibility to the outside world, which is in fact something the Dwarf does earn. He's not dumb, he has a sense of justice, but people will always view him as "the crazy Dwarf", I think. It's kind of sad, but also really defining in my eyes. I love Eric's interaction with Throlar. Their arguments and tantrums define their relation, but that's what really makes it more awesome . I love "fighting" with Throlar. Short version: loved the party and I hope to quest with both players/characters again .

Heroica RPG- Quest #117: The Tale of The Caustic Collection
Khorne replied to Kintobor's topic in The Heroica Archive
Eric wandered back outside slowly. He eyes darted from left to right, trying to soak in as much as was possible from this foreign environment. The Nord couldn't wait to be outside again, away from this feeble deity and its house of light. The Nord looked around for things to steal, maybe a loose diamond or a golden beaker that wouldn't be missed, but he found nothing. Disappointed, he exited the temple, but before leaving he cast a malignant look over his shoulder at Throlar and snarled. The corner of his mouth twitched slightly. The Dwarf better not say the wrong thing. With that, he stepped into the bustling street and disappeared in the crowd. So, umm, I hate to bring it up again, but was the thing with Rollinger's money resolved? According to the last party statistics you posted, I think you still left the Paladin's gold in Throlar's inventory, while it should in fact be in mine. But I may be mistaken. . Thanks for the Quest ! I'll try and leave some thoughts in the QM Lounge.- 372 replies

My plan exactly . I really love both classes that are offered and while Sandy's Quest would be awesome for RP'ing, I never been on a a Pie Quest. I really can't decide which one I'd like to be on most... In a way, I would kind of miss Throlar and the constant arguments and pestering. On the other hand, though, a Quest without Throlar and all the animosity would be refreshing again, plus I'm pretty sure the constant arguing between our characters is not very easy for the QM to handle . We will see where fate brings our characters . I've said it before here, but Throlar's like the Joker to my Batman, or Eric's the Joker to your Batman, I don't really know what role fits either of them better. After having spent three Quests together, Eric's life would feel empty without his nemesis. Currently, Eric is still a Raider, mainly for RP classes and also because I really like the class. I love the Damage I can dish out with it. Originally, I planned for Eric to become a Berserker, but I hardly see the "Knight" aspect of the class applying to him anymore. Maybe it turns your character into a woman? Or it restores Health, like a Health core, but that would be kind of lame ...

I actually had to read that twice because I first thought you said I had to shoot Throlar .

Holy sh..! A Quest that offer Marauder acces and one that offers Vindicator acces !? MUST GET ON ONE!! Eric is pious enough, just not a big believer in Danab and Ennoc and the likes .

Heroica RPG- Quest #117: The Tale of The Caustic Collection

Eric smiled slyly, "Actually we only mostly have low opinions of the Dwarf, feelings he reciprocates." The Nord then faked a flabbergasted look and brought his hands closer to his chest, "Me? Lying and blaspheming? Milady, even the very thought of such putrid actions dare not even cross my mind. I may come from the icy northern shores of Olegard, but I have deep respect for your god, Ennoc." Inside, Eric cringed at the statement, but he managed to form another of his smooth grins to help sell what he was saying. He then stepped backward, resuming his position closer to the other members of the party. "And of course we buried poor Rollinger. We're not savages."- 372 replies

Heroica RPG- Quest #117: The Tale of The Caustic Collection
Khorne replied to Kintobor's topic in The Heroica Archive
Eric hung at the back of the party as it entered the Temple of Ennoc. Like a curious child he feasted his eyes upon the, to him at least, very alien environment he found himself in. The Nords did not know the Eagle God, they had no Ennoc. The looks Eric cast upon the statue and sigils of Ennoc were of contempt mixed with a hint of intrigue. Deep inside, the Nord might've even felt a sliver of fear, being so deep in a divine hostile environment. He let his hand slide over the walls as the threesome made their way deeper inside the temple. Once the others started talking, Eric was pulled back fully into reality. He felt obliged to speak, spurred on by Heckz, but even more so because of his distrust of Throlar. The Nord skulked forward from the back of the party. He was stooped slightly, as to appear less intimidating towards the High Priestess. Eric tilted his head slightly and grinned sheepishly. In a soft voice he spoke, "Blessings, Lady Alisameth. You have indeed heard correct, we have indeed been burdened with the task of bringing some worrisome items here. It would be nothing more than our pleasure to surrender these peculiar items to you." "Concering my stunted...," Eric paused slightly, not sure how to define his relationship to Throlar, "companion here, I beg you not to put too much faith in whatever he tells you. See, this man named Throlar has a history of stabbing people in the back. He is prone to bouts of rage which have impacted his reason quite negatively over time." The Nord shook his head, like if he was truly telling a story that heart him. "This Dwarf believes the world solely revolves around him and he would stop at nothing to take out the competition and claim the reward for himself. Not even telling heinous lies to one as blessed as you are." Eric looked up and smiled a honeyed smile. His icy blue eyes locked with those of the High Priestess. Once more he gently shook his head. "Do not believe whatever he confides in you."- 372 replies

Eric shrugged. "I wouldn't even want to come back here. Besides, stop your whining, it's not like your inn is worse of than before" The Nord then prepared to follow in Heckz' footsteps.- 372 replies

Heroica RPG- Quest #117: The Tale of The Caustic Collection
Khorne replied to Kintobor's topic in The Heroica Archive
"What does that have to do with it? If I say I want the damn Amethyst, then I want the damn Amethyst. I don't care if you have one or not. It's not my problem. The world isn't fair. Deal with it.", Eric viciously sneered. His sneer soon turned into an angry snarl when Heckz decided to go all "sainty" and bestow gifts to the poor and unworthy. The Nord turned silent, but his anger could be felt radiating from his very presence. His eyes burned intensely, yet Eric himself remained quite an haughty and aloof posture. The corner of his mouth twitched and a sly grin slowly formed. Eric refused to accept the Murky Pearls when Hekcz distributed the loot, dropping them on purpose. With an arrogant look, he eyed Heckz and merely said "oops", followed by a soft, yet very audible, "I want the Amethyst". Eric grinned and took some steps backward, creating a distance between him and the rest of the party. He was angry, like a child that didn't get the attention it craved. OOC: Loot distribution is fine, CutCobra . I understand you giving the Amethyst to Throlar . I know I'm missing out on 75 gold of Pearls now, but hey, at least I get to do some RP'ing- 372 replies

Heroica RPG- Quest #117: The Tale of The Caustic Collection
Khorne replied to Kintobor's topic in The Heroica Archive
"Wow, that suddenly went fast", Eric remarked. He looked around to see if there were any remnants of the Shadows left, but they had all vanished mysteriously. His eyes glistered as he saw the Amethyst. "I want it", the Nord bluntly stated, almost a bit childish. Hesitantly he added, "I might be even willing to part with some of Rollinger's coin to make the deal more fair." However, Eric didn't want to come across as being too soft and quickly reinforced a key word: "I might..."- 372 replies

Having spent the last 3 quests with Throlar, I believe I will genuinely start missing that crazy, maniacal, lunatic Dwarf . He's the Joker to my Batman (or vice-versa) . Heckz is freakin' awesome too, I love questing with him. I wouldn't go as far as calling Eric and Heckz friends though. I believe their 'relationship' is purely superficial and on a basis of a mutual loathing of Throlar. I concur on it being a cool party. The highlight for me was burying a Paladin outside the inn in which they had spent the night and getting away with it.

Khorne replied to Kintobor's topic in The Heroica Archive
Concerning Rollinger's stuff, it is like CC says . Eric took the coin, Heckz the items and Throlar the cursed stuff. "Thanks for the compliment. You're not too bad looking yourself", Eric half-jokingly replied in the midst of combat. The Nord's mind knew the 'fabulous' remark wasn't aimed at him, but his ego refused to acknowledge that.- 372 replies

Yaay! More Shields ! I hate to whine, but actually I attacked Shadow A & G . Nevermind now though, let's just get this thing over with . "Damn it!", Eric muttered under his breath as Heckz flung an icy spell at Shadow A. The Nord redoubled his efforts and tried to take down some other Shades. He'd have to try and claim the Amethyst later then. Eric attacks Greater Shadow J and L from the front row, using Conspirator.- 372 replies

Heroica RPG- Quest #117: The Tale of The Caustic Collection
Khorne replied to Kintobor's topic in The Heroica Archive
Okay, looking over the stats, there are several things I don't get. Why am I at 32 health? If I'm not mistaken, I should be at 38, so you probably made a typo or I missed something. Also, where did Throlar suddenly get 102 gold? Eric lent him money (57 gold, which was then immediately spent) because Throlar was broke and now he suddenly has 102 gold . If that's Rollinger's coin, then Eric already took that. Heckz took the other stuff from the Paladin and Throlar took all the spooky items to take care off. "By all means, take your time", the Raider sarcastically remarked to Lydia and grinned mischievously. Eric spins his blade around and turns his attention to the shadows in the North Flank once more. He strikes at Greater Shadow G, from the front row. The Nord then catches a glance of the Amethyst one of the Shadows is carrying and then follows up his first attack with a second blow at Greater Shadow A, also from the front row.- 372 replies

You forgot to add the "Encouraged" effect to Eric's stats. "You're free to join us, just don't expect any reward" Eric repeats. EDIT: We can change the flank we're attacking without losing a turn, right? In that case...: Eric attacks Greater Shadow D from the front row, using Conspirator. Then he attacks Greater Shadow E.- 372 replies

I think there's still an error. Greater Shadow B has 250/200 health. Eric switched his blade for Conspirator and used his first turn to down a mead. Then he attacks Greater Shadow B in the North Flank from the first row (using Conspirator).- 372 replies
