What New Themes or Sets would you like TLG to make?
Shoc replied to CopMike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I think a lot of these licensed theme suggestions are highly unlikely, for instance: I'd never heard of this before, had anyone else? :skull: -
If only one stud place is flat, it won't be much of a windowsill... What do you mean? :skull:

You mean you've never been on ihasabucket.com??! :skull: -
I too agree it is a great work! But how is it a parody? It's probably photoshopped, but maybe not... :skull:

That is a brilliant creation, SirNadroj, it looks true to the pictures and trailers I have seen! I love it! Is it lifesize? :skull:

More animals would be nice... What he said \/ I would also love a very simple piece... A piece like this common one, but with just one stud. So, one side with a stud, one side just flat. That would be a very useful piece, for many reasons! :skull:

Thanks for the comments guys! The bamboo leaf pieces are meant to be feathers, but it's not easy to make it look feathery otherwise. I understand why you didn't bother read the story, it is a little long... It's meant to be ruined, and also a pyramid so it may not look like your stereotypical temple. I do think maybe I did do the colours odd... :skull:

They are Exo-Force hairpieces! :skull:

I got my entry in just in time for the Indiana Jones contest, and thought I'd share some more pictures with anyone who wants to see them... First, I have the backstory to the movie, if you don't read at least the end of this it may not make sense: Indiana Jones and the Serpent Altar of Quetzalcoatl The movie is set not long after the events of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Indiana and Marion are on their honeymoon in Mexico, which Indy is using, to Marion's dismay, as a chance to do more research on the Aztecs. The newlyweds soon come across a strange old man named Monte, who tells them a story passed down through the generations of his family, about the Serpent Altar of Quetzalcoatl. Apparently the altar is made of pure gold, and has the power to reanimate preserved corpses. Monte says it is kept atop of a tiny pyramid temple, hidden deep in the jungle. If any man enters its realm it will bring the mummified Aztec priest Quetzalopochtli back to life, and he will summon Quetzalcoatl, the great feathered serpent. Indy is interested by this tale, but feels a little awkward because of his fear of snakes. As Indy and Marion leave, they and Monte are captured and locked in a cell by three mysterious men, who say it is for their own protection. The leader of the group is the villainous Franciso Cortes and he demands to know about the altar. Monte, under pressure, tells him. Indy, Marion and Monte manage to escape, and Indy phones Mutt in a cafe, asking for his help. Mutt arrives in an aeroplane and the three others meet him at the runway. Also at the runway is Francisco Cortes and his men. Indy overhears they are going to search the jungle from the skies to find Quetzalcoatl's temple, so he hijacks Mutt's plane with help from Marion and Monte, and they set off in an arial chase across the treetops. Lots of shooting from the skies goes on between Indiana's and Cortes' planes, but neither plane gets too damaged. Eventually the passengers of both planes see the ruined temple with the shining altar atop, and Cortes' men shoot Indy's plane a little too much, which causes it to crash in the forest. Indy, Marion, Mutt and Monte get out of their crashed plane and head for the little pyramid. When they are almost there, true to Monte's story, the mummy of Quetzalopochtli attacks them, and there is seemingly no way to kill him, but he seems to be afraid of Monte's small sword. They get to the pyramid at the same time as Franciso Cortes and his men. Both groups blame each other for stealing the altar, but neither have. Cortes sneakily removes Indy's whip from him at the top of the pyramid, and he and his men aim their guns at Indy, Marion and Mutt, while Monte wards the mummy away with his sword, on the steps. Slowly, the rubble behind Cortes moves, and a feathered snake rises out of it, Quetzalcoatl, large, green and red. Cortes and his men do not notice, but Indy, Marion and Mutt do. That is where this Lego-ized scene comes into place. The three pictures I used in my entry post: A closer view of what is going on (sorry for the slight blur): The main human characters: The guys; Monte, Indy, Marion and Mutt: The guys; Quetzalopochtli, Henchman 1, Francisco Cortes, Henchman 2: The ruined pyramid, without figs: The ruined pyramid, without the figs but with Quetzalcoatl: A parrot watching the giant snake (with added ceiling!) The snake from the side, looking pretty weird (with more ceiling!): Quetzalcoatl from the back, giving a better view into the unstable construction of the snake (I used hidden hinges lower down to make it more rounded) I hope you like it, any criticism or questions is welcome! :skull:

Phew! I managed to submit my entry - Indiana Jones and the Serpent Altar of Quetzalcoatl. Please check it out! There are so many great entries, it's going to be a tough contest. I certainly don't expect to win. :skull:

Ok, my entry is here just in time, it does have a long backstory, please be patient and read it. I have both of these sets, and they are both brilliant! I would say the graveyard set over Shrieking Shack though, the Graveyard Duel is possibly my favourite ever Lisenced Lego set, maybe even my favourite overall Lego set that I own! Wily Manc pretty much sums it up: :skull:

Ah, cool. Good idea, hopefully the forums won't be too cluttered. :skull: -
What New Themes or Sets would you like TLG to make?
Shoc replied to CopMike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
The two themes I would like to see are mentioned already. Farm and Mesoamerican or Inca sets would be brilliant! Think of all the llamas! Good things about farm sets would be animals (of course), new building structures and vehicles, and compatibility with many other themes! Good things about Inca or Mesoamerica sets (probably less violent to choose Inca) would be llamas (hehe), lovely temples, mountain and tropical settings, Conquistadors or opposing tribes to be the bad guys, and peasants, which a lot of people want! May I ask CopMike, why are you asking this? Are these sugesstions going to go to TLC TLG? Llamas On! :skull: -
Lovely MOC, but... The head in the bed?! Yuck! :skull:
-
Scary! But a nice creation, and story, even if it is copied from DWM. :skull: :skull:
-
Ahhh yes. So the hole in them is useful for something! I still wonder why there is a hole all the way through, it doesn't need that to bend... :skull:
-
Thanks, I looked on your Flickr before but couldn't find them... That's a really good way of changing the arm attachements, very fluent. What did you use to plug onto the socket? :skull:

My computer is messed up, so the pictures don't show up, would it be possible to tell me the hyperlinks? I would be interested to see these. Me too, how could a minifig die and then get bigger arms? The originals are more realistic for dead minifigures. :skull:

Wow! I'll check it out if I ever go to Woodbridge, I never did get enough Orient Expedition sets (though I wouldn't call them ancient, just a bit old). :skull:
-
Once again these are nice moldings, but why is the Sculpey slightly white speckled? It's never done that with me before... Hmm... I'd love to see the finished figures, anyway. :skull:

Doctor Who, Torchwood, Sarah Jane Adventures...
Shoc replied to The Kid's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I loved the links too, and also the inclusion of Cardiff Torchwood and the Hub... The inclusion of Sarah Jane's bad actor 'son'... Meh. :skull: -
Hehe! I myself often look to see where people live, it interests me. That's probably why it's called Rockbottom! I haven't been there for a while, next time I go to Southampton I'll see if they have anything new, maybe Agents! :skull:

Aaagh! I should get the camera working, and post my entry, quick! :skull:
