  1. Sorry. I didn't mean to insult you. Right clicking won't work. If you click on a file it will open code view. Then you have to open raw view. That you can save. It's probably easier to just clone the repository. Since you already have a github account I assume you also have git installed. git clone https://github.com/jpgerdeman/minifig-svg-decals.git Or you can just hit the download as zip button. I just noticed that the big ben decal shouldn't be in there and still contains reference material. I'll fix it tomorrow evening.
  2. Thanks for posting the pics. Me and my wife wanted to go, but she suddenly felt ill
  3. Future Enterprise it must be! Admiral Rikers refitted Enterprise beats all lowly 2 nacell ships out there! You know the Future Enterprise is also a refitted Enterprise. So it would kinda fit to this NCC-1701-A. Of course it wuld have to be in scale to this one
  4. I'm in favor of Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike. I also started to add wiki pages. I'm just writing down what I feel should be there for now. If you have any objections or suggestions let me know or just change it. I saw your first commit. Just a question, have you looked at library/torsos? I feel torso-muscle should be there. I assume you tried opening the svg files in your browser? The files are valid. Trouble is github disabled direct viewing of svg images for security reasons. So you have to download them first before looking at them. About the validation. Is it possible you're using IE6 or IE7? They might be recognizing xml files and trying to validate them to pretty print them.

  8. I believe Brasso is the recommended way to remove the printing of minifigs. You'll have to be really careful not to smudge the rest of the face. Also I usually apply it with a little pressure. This of course increases possibility for mistakes. You could also try to scratch it away with an exacto knife. How bad does it look? I'd probably just leave it as it is. If it's really bad, why not contact customer service?
  9. Minifig SVG Decal Repository on GitHub I created the repository and started pushing in my library. Exactly why I proposed it. No kidding. Take a look at PHP-fig for a current example. Great ideas going on over there, but it looks like they're getting weighed down by meaningless bureaucratization. I have a few ideas. I just didn't want to get ahead of myself. Questions I think we need to address include: licencing directory layout svg layout (use of linked clones, layers,...) all the usual organizational overhead like: manifesto, membership guidelines,... Take a look at the repository and let me know what you think. If you tell me your github username I'll add you as collaborator.
  10. That's great! Any objections to using github as repository? Any better ideas?
  11. That's a nice compact design. To me it looks both cute and aggressive. Like a Tribble seeing a Klingon. It looks very durable how does it handle rough terrain or crashes? And how fast is pretty fast? Is it faster than ludicrous speed?
  12. Well you could use Blender. HjMediaStudios created a nicely rigged minifigure. But the learning curve is steep. I'm still trying to figure out Blender 2.6, which looks totally different from 2.4. Maybe we can get HjMediaStudios to write a tutorial.
  13. That's humongous. Do you keep your Buildings after you built them? If so, I'd love to see all your New York City buildings in one shot. By the way what are you building next? Can't be anything from NYC, because there is nothing left for you to build there.
  14. Welcome to the Minifig SVG Decal Repository Quickstart: Minifig SVG Decal Repository on GitHub Download as Zip-file Browse our homepage We also have a flickr Group. Where are the SVG files: We keep the svg files on GitHub. Just download the zip if you don't want to bother with that. We're also currently working out the kinks in our web appearance, that will make browsing the repository easier. I want to join: Great. Introduce yourself in this thread. Obviously we do expect you to work with SVG files and to have a GitHub account. Learning SVG is real easy and intuitive. GitHub is also really simple, I just suck at explaining. Let's hope that Nick or Vynsane write a simpler introduction. FAQ: What's this SVG? SVG is an open fie format, that describes pictures as mathematical functions. As such they loose no detail through scaling. They are also easy to edit because unlike raster images (jpg, png and so on) I can still move a line around after I'm done. Do you take requests? Those of us that do take requests check the Decal Wish List every once in a while. Do not post requests in this thread! Are you gonna answer all requests? No. Just like everyone else answering requests, we do not feel obligated to answer each one. How can I improve my chances of a request being answered? Be polite. Aside from the obvious, it also means to obey the rules set forth in the opening post of the Decal Wish List. Only post to request or answer a request. Everything else is considered noise. Fun requests are more likely to be fulfilled than boring ones. Every decal creator defines fun differently. Make it appealing. One way to achieve this is to make the request appear minimal in time consumption. Be precise. Add links to reference material. The colors seem of when printing Read this I want to tell XX how awesome he is and that he rocks Every decal creator loves to hear that. The most effective way to do this is also the one where the artist gets maximum attention. Look for his personal thread and tell him there. If you can't find one make one. Seriously a thread dedicated to a decal creator is the most flattering thing around. Your writing sucks I know. Send me a PM with corrections if it bothers you. Original Post: Dear fellow decal creators, would anyone be interested in collaborating? Before I describe what I want to achieve, let me explain how I work. I store all my svg sources in a local concurrent versioning system (git). This allows me to access historic versions of my files and I don't have to fear accidentally deleting something important. At least not if I have put it under version control. I also started to assemble a library of common elements, like muscles, belts, skirts and so forth. These can then be easily integrated in future works. Using svg gives me a small source file size and enables me to easily edit my work later. Is anyone also working like this, or interested in doing so? Essentially I'd move my local store to github, thus opening my library for others to use and encourage others to submit new pieces as well. I'm not proposing to leave brickshelf/flickr or eurobricks to present the final rasterized image. I'm suggesting to create a resource for those creating decals. Long term goals My hope is that over time the library would grow to a point where it is a standard resource. Maybe even collecting all hints, tips and tutorials in one place. Is anyone of you decal creators interested in such an approach?
  15. I do hope we'll see those arms again. Ikarus, harpies and ethnic dancers come to mind, when looking for uses.
  16. Those work great. Especially Natasha and Tony are very recognizable. My only gripe would be the use of the Atlantis Shark Warrior torso as shirt for Happy. I don't know why but to me it looks like he has man boobs. I find it difficult using those Atlantis Warriors with regular figs. Though, Atlantis Shark Warrior's legs make great stone washed jeans.
  17. If you have a reference picture I'd make the decal. Is this it?
  18. I'd suggest using inkscape and Adobe Reader. Create a new document in your preferred paper fromat. Drag your image into the document. When asked to embed or link, choose embed. Lock the proportions of the imported image (Lock symbol) and enter desired height . 6.125 mm for faces I believe. [+]Depending on your printer you might have to place the image about 1cm from the borders of the document. When you're done save it as pdf. Increase the dpi for rasterization. Open in Adobe Reader. In the printing dialog choose "Actual size" as size option I also uploaded a version of the instructions with pictures.
  19. And here's Grim Reaper. grim_reaper
  20. All my decals can be found at the Minifig Decal Repository Official discussion of the repository takes place over in this other thread. I've been answering some of the decal wishes lately and thought I'd post the better of those designs along with some new ones. I'm Releasing them under the "CC BY-NC-SA 3.0" license. Meaning: Credit me Don't sell And if you use it I'd like to see it Update: [07/29/2012] Replaced ComicCon Batman with a more complete version. Octavian wearing a modified CMF Lady Liberty toga. Praetor Reyna wearing the CMF Lady Liberty toga Tyson Percy's half-brother cyclop. Misc faramir Ithilien Ranger Hockey Mask Big Ben's face I really like this one. Recognizable and symmetric. But it misses the dragons in the corners . quarter.dragon quarter.lion Template Snapshot of my inkscape template. The template I use for these is based on one found on the minifigcustomizationnetwork. I added official body silhouettes to give my decals more of an official touch. The two female torsos on the top left are not based on official minifigures . I uploaded the svg version on brickshelf. The template on brickshelf is not updated anymore. To find updated torsos and templates visit the Minifig SVG Repository. The template file is now separate from the torsos, as that makes handling easier. Check out the library section to find more cool stuff that is ready to drop in and use. Discussion of the repository takes place here on eurobricks. Mortal Kombat I don't really like this, but my wife convinced me to add them anyway. Li Mei According to my wife this is my best decal so far. mileena mortal_combat_christie_monteiro
  21. Praetor Reyna from Camp Jupiter The toga is from CMF Lady Liberty. Edit: Also finished Li Mei. Li Mei Edit: Octavian. Was quick since I already had the toga done. Altered it slightly, though. Octavian
  22. Chiron is only wearing a suit, you know. half-blood-grover Half Blood Camp T-Shirts Also here is a decal for Wasp. It is based on her outfit during the Civil War. I used Wonder Woman's proportions, so it fits in with the other super heroes. wasp
  23. Only had time for one drawing today. Hockey Mask
  24. I have several online persona. Emperor Krulos is my 80's childhood persona. Krulosis the big baddie in Dinoriders. I always wished they would have made him actually use all his assets. Then he would've become the sole ruler. The galaxies emperor. Hail Rulons! Hail the Emperor!
  25. mortal_combat_christie_monteiro I didn't add a face decal. Her face is unremarkable. Just about any female face will do. mileena supergirl I uploaded the wrong decal anyway. Corrected the Shield and added a neckline. On regular printers, there is nothing you have to do to print transparent. Most printers can't print white and therefore ignore it. If you printed a letter on a piece of paper the background would be the color of the paper. If you printed it on a transparent sheet there would be no background.
