  1. Great MOC! It's nice to see someone taking the time to adapt the CREATOR sets.....and you furnished it Nice little addition to the back with the conservatory/sun room/garden room. I'm a conformist!!
  2. This is not bad Just be aware that your english is not that good, i'm assuming you have translated it??? And Welcome to EB!
  3. I feel like my post is just mimicking every other post in this thread but......WOW! You have given me the inspiration to modernize my own LEGO Airport (Currently Century Skyway). Keep up the good work...I would LOVE to see what you would do with a Rail Station (or TERMINAL!) Thanks and BRICK ON!
  4. THAT IS THE PART. Thanks for the help...i am trying to inventorize what sets I have, and now that i have that i can figure this out Thanks a lot "Fugazi".
  5. Hey EB Members I request your help. I have a plate that i found, that is a 16x16 stud plate, with only 8x16 studs, and a printed road on the other area. I have often used it for drive-thru's but i wondered if any of you members, would be able to identify it, and tell me what set(s) it could have originated from. Thanks Here is a terrible text based diagram to illustrate it: (x represents studs,and lines,slashes, represent flat painted part __________ xxxxxxxx/ \ xxxxxxxx| | xxxxxxxx| | xxxxxxxx| | xxxxxxxx| | xxxxxxxx| | xxxxxxxx| | xxxxxxxx| | xxxxxxxx| | xxxxxxxx| | xxxxxxxx| | xxxxxxxx| | xxxxxxxx| | xxxxxxxx| | xxxxxxxx| | xxxxxxxx\_________/
  6. Another Great Review, Rufus....I always look forward to your reviews. I think you could easily adapt this to have more features, i.e. add a fold out table for outside the caravan etc.... I just wish they would extend the civilian sets....it would give us MOC'ers more ideas...i miss the civilian parts of City/Town Can't wait for next Review
  7. Wow...This is just amazing...I want one If i was to make one request, i would put an Air/Water Pump next to the building, it would add an additional lifelike situation. Good piece for space saving. Brick On.
  8. I have meaning to post on this thread for a while....just now getting to it....<stupid school work and exams> Anywho...Great review Rufus! I really like your pictorial reviews. and the jokes make it a worthwhile read. This car just fits in perfect. I'm thinking of making a 2 seater version, hence why i bought one on S@H a couple of days ago. It would also really fit well into my upcoming MOC Car Rental location. That could explain why it's shown in the airport sets. .....I now wish TLG had a car rental company, i.e. Octan Vehicles? Great review as always!
  9. I really like what you have done here. It looks really realistic. If you're still looking for proposals, you could add a screen wash station, or a pump attendant Brick On
  10. WOW! This thread blew up when i wasn't looking.....:o To answer many of your questions... 1. I am currently in Scotland, and i went through the UK Website. 2. I never received any response back from VELUX, thus i was surprised when it arrived! I wasn't expecting it. 3. I guess i probably lucked out 4. I only asked VELUX if they knew of anywhere i could purchase this set, and if i could would they show me where on the website i could do so. I guess it was my lucky day!!!
  11. I just used this link: http://www.velux.co.uk/aboutvelux/velux_gb/contact Fill it out and see what happens. Best of Luck!
  12. Ok. I'll resize those photos, when i figure how to on Photobucket :) Apparently so. I just sent an email to their Contact Us Address. And 7 days later a brown envelope arrived with that in it. I guess they have so many, and when they run out they'll run out. It's pretty cool too. :)
  13. Review: 1894 VELUX Promotional House http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/u426/widewiilover/Review%20-%201854%20VELUX%20Promotional%20House/IMG_5484.jpg This old System set has a rather interesting story, (which I will get to in a minute) but it certainly brings back that old time town feeling, which most of us remember from when we were kids. The Stats Name: VELUX Promotional Set - House with Windows Number: 1854 Theme: Classic Town Year of Release: 1996 Pieces: 212 Figures: 2 Price: Free* Links: Peeron and Instructions *Now to the interesting story. I was randomly searching Peeron, and noticed that this set was in the town category. Now, I knew some people had had luck of getting free promotional LEGO sets, by emailing the sponsor, and asking kindly. So I did. And 7 days later this arrived in the mail, in a large brown padded envelope. http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/u426/widewiilover/Review%20-%201854%20VELUX%20Promotional%20House/IMG_5476.jpg Thanks Tom! This set really is a great addition to your old style town, and gives some great tips, on how to use roofing elements, as a core design piece. The Box http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/u426/widewiilover/Review%20-%201854%20VELUX%20Promotional%20House/IMG_5478.jpg The Box is relatively medium sized, which is mostly to accommodate, the instruction book and the baseplate. http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/u426/widewiilover/Review%20-%201854%20VELUX%20Promotional%20House/IMG_5483.jpg http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/u426/widewiilover/Review%20-%201854%20VELUX%20Promotional%20House/IMG_5481.jpg Nice shot of alternate models http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/u426/widewiilover/Review%20-%201854%20VELUX%20Promotional%20House/IMG_5485.jpg You can tell this is a System set, because the back pain is full of rebuild options. I like this, because you can get some really good ideas from them, and honestly I wish they did this with the new City sets...It would show that designers aren't building for one shape and that’s it. The Contents http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/u426/widewiilover/Review%20-%201854%20VELUX%20Promotional%20House/IMG_5487.jpg http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/u426/widewiilover/Review%20-%201854%20VELUX%20Promotional%20House/IMG_5488.jpg This set came with 2 Bags, one large and one small, the green 16x16 base plate, a sticker sheet, and the following extras floating about (It also came with a tray which is something you just don’t get as much now in City sets.) The Instructions http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/u426/widewiilover/Review%20-%201854%20VELUX%20Promotional%20House/IMG_5505.jpg Here is some more alternate models on the back of the instruction book http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/u426/widewiilover/Review%20-%201854%20VELUX%20Promotional%20House/IMG_5504.jpg Here we can see a random page. Piece Callouts are used spraingly which makes a nice change The Pieces http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/u426/widewiilover/Review%20-%201854%20VELUX%20Promotional%20House/IMG_5491.jpg Large Bag http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/u426/widewiilover/Review%20-%201854%20VELUX%20Promotional%20House/IMG_5490.jpg Small Bag Some cool pieces are the blue windows of course, and the inclusion of a flag pole for a residential house. The Figures http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/u426/widewiilover/Review%20-%201854%20VELUX%20Promotional%20House/IMG_5493.jpg You get two minifigs in this set. A Boy (whom is now named Tim) and a girl, (whom is now named Gill) and they both work well with this set. Here we can also see the accessiores you get, which include 2 Coffee Mugs, and 2 Wine Glasses. Also included is a brown hair brush <not shown> The House http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/u426/widewiilover/Review%20-%201854%20VELUX%20Promotional%20House/IMG_5494.jpg http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/u426/widewiilover/Review%20-%201854%20VELUX%20Promotional%20House/IMG_5495.jpg http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/u426/widewiilover/Review%20-%201854%20VELUX%20Promotional%20House/IMG_5496.jpg http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/u426/widewiilover/Review%20-%201854%20VELUX%20Promotional%20House/IMG_5497.jpg http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/u426/widewiilover/Review%20-%201854%20VELUX%20Promotional%20House/IMG_5498.jpg http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/u426/widewiilover/Review%20-%201854%20VELUX%20Promotional%20House/IMG_5499.jpg A relativly simple build, uses very old techniques, of doing a lot at a time. The Extras http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/u426/widewiilover/Review%20-%201854%20VELUX%20Promotional%20House/IMG_5506.jpg This set came with quite a few extras, including plenty of red slopes, and an extra printed 3 tile, an extra yellow 1x1 stud, and an extra 1x1 brick. The Complete Set http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/u426/widewiilover/Review%20-%201854%20VELUX%20Promotional%20House/IMG_5503.jpg Same shot as shown on Instruction book. Additional Photos can be found here. Conclusions Personally, I kinda like the old town feeling of this set, but it could still fit easily into the City designs of today. I also like how it is now giving me and idea on how to build something I have always wanted to build for a while. Design: 9/10 Definitely unique idea, and well integrated with the brand, VELUX. Build: 8/10 Simple, but fun build. Nice to have only bricks, and not prefabricated pieces like City is moving too Playability: 8/10 Integrates well with old Town or new City, and has several re-configurable options that work well Figures: 7/10 Nothing fancy, but nice to see the classic faces. Price: 10/10 I would say it’s great for a Free set from VELUX. But there is not guarantee you will get a copy, as these are out of production, and may no longer be stocked. Some sellers do have it on Bricklink and eBay for about $30-60 so be wary for a free set, you might want to just ask VELUX. Overall a solid 84%. Definitely a great set for classic towns. 14. LOL the Aircraft Investigation thing is funny, i watch that all the time. Nice Airport. Fits well with the theme of your town. (or what we can see of it) I am assuming when you make your airport bigger, you will be including jetway's? Brick on!
  15. I really like your bus shelter! I also have them in my town, but i have no bus. They serve more as a gazebo. Brick On!
  16. I would have to say, that mine was when i was in 8th Grade, till only recently. so about 2008-2012. I have never lost interest in it, just that school, homework, after school commitments and weekend trips to Walt Disney World, suddenly become more fun. But i never lost my touch with LEGO, often stopping in the LEGO Immagination Store, and perusing, picking up the odd grab bag, for a quick build or a small PAB cup. When i started thinking about what to do over the summer between High School/College, i thought i could get myself back in to the groove AND I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO NOT LOVING LEGO!!!1
  17. I have a couple of Four Way Intersections from Airport Layouts, that i just can't integrate. But a solution for the Intersection pieces is simple, use them as T-Junctions, by building a raised sidewalk over one of the exits. THis gives you what looks like a 3-Way stop, or can be integrated with Traffic Lights. You can also use one of the exits, as a parking spot, in a busy part of town. However, if i'm really lazy i just leave random LEGO dirt/blocks/bits at that intersection, thereby blocking access in that direction like what many construction companies do here. Just my thoughts! 18. Hi there, I really like what you have done with this dealership. Especially with the furnishings....:) I wanted your advice on a couple of ideas i have swimming around in my head. I want to build a Car Rental location, with a return line, garage for servicing, and a reception area. what do you think would be the best way to utilize a rectangular base plate for this? Thanks!
