  1. This was my attempt a while back - I think the Airjitsu head mentioned above would work better tho. Once I get that, I might have to update! Torso is the reverse of the Lex Power Armour polybag figure btw.
  2. This is a great idea - the thread is a pain to search but there are lots of great designs in here. Please feel free to use any of my pictures too. This is also a good plan - will definitely join this.
  3. That head is just a great choice - I hadn't seen it before. Need to get me one of those!
  4. Thanks! And do have a Gateway - I just am not totally happy with it so I left him out:
  5. I was finally able to complete my X-Men line up from the Australian Outback era, which is one of my favourites. I wasn't able to make them all purist so I am posting them in this separate thread. They (along with all my other purist and non-purist figures) are available on my Flickr (where i also post any credits). Any feedback welcome! Storm: Wolverine: Rogue: Havok: Psylocke: Colossus: Dazzler: Longshot: Team line-up:
  6. Thanks! And yep, spot on - the torso is Man Of Steel Superman's backwards.
  7. Here are a couple of previous ones, tweaked now I have better parts are available: Archangel: I think the Space Batman wings look better that the brick-built ones I used before: Rusty Collins: I know I only posted this a page or so back, but I just got the Chima piece which makes for a way better power signature: Phoenix: This one, I'm sure isn't an original idea but I haven't seen it anywhere yet (the Phoenix minifig is technically a custom - but it's a custom of an original figure - I'm not that lucky to own the original): All credits, plus more non-purist on my Flickr as usual.
  8. Been a while since I added any to this thread but here are a few I have been working on (I know the jackets aren't purist, but they are a pain to get on so I'm not taking them off again!) As ever, all credits on my Flickr where appropriate. Apologies for the washed out looking pics - my camera died so using my phone: Rusty Collins: Skids: Boom Boom: And a couple of headpiece options for Negasonic Teenage Warhead - I can't decide which is better:
  9. Thanks - will be trying this out!
  10. Thanks - I've used so many of your designs so happy to get the chance to return the favour! The head is from Red Harrington from the Lone Ranger sets. It is a great face - I bought a bulk lot of them on Bricklink as it works for so many characters and is much better than the Star Wars 'big eyes' or the kinda ugly Indiana Jones ones.
  11. It's a very cool idea - which hose is it? i.e. is it a Lego part? If so, does anyone know the Bricklink item number?
  12. I might have to give them a try - I'm kinda reliant on my friend who does the dyeing and would do the painting - I don't have anywhere I can easily do that, but will pass on the tips. The injection molding sounds great if possible - would be the perfect solution really! And no concerns over durability :) I'd love a properly PAD printed Rachel - but for not, this was asclose as I could custom. Funny you said it looks like Marrow - this was the face from my custom Marrow for ages, but I wanted something with scars for Rachel and I think this was the closest possible.
  13. Couple more uses for one of the custom hairpieces: Phoenix II - Rachel Summers:
  14. Few more - plus more non-purist on my Flickr. Gateway: Enchantress: Lorelei: Executioner: Ernst and No-Girl: Cassandra Nova - thanks Dr. Leg O Brick for the face idea and the holding of the hat pose:
  15. I'm looking forward to knowing how it goes as these are fine for pics, but they are too easily damaged :( The legs for the Black Queen are from a penzore custom of Ms. Marvel.
  16. Thanks guys! And the 'P' is from this pack: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?P=3070bpb24&in=S
  17. I thought I'd make a thread here for some custom superheroes I made with dyed hair pieces, which stops me posting them over in the Purist thread. The lack of certain hair pieces in particular colours can really limit the creation of certain characters so I have been obsessing over way to get hold of them since I started customising. My friend has been trying out various dyeing techniques (which is how I ended up with my version of Alpha Flight's Sasquatch) but he finally found one that seems to work OK on hair. It isn't super-robust - it wouldn't stand up to play - but it's fine for taking some pictures of. All the below are characters I created previously, but that look better with a custom hair piece. If anyone else has made any custom hair pieces, please feel free to add to the thread - not limited to superheroes either - that's just my obsession! Also, if anyone can think of any others I could try out, please suggest! Also, all design credits are on the Flickr photos themselves. She-Hulk: Psylocke: Black Widow: Polaris: Wolfsbane: Black Queen: Trevor Fitzroy and Bantam:
  18. One I have been working on for ages: Strong Guy: I'm really pleased as he completes my Peter David X-Factor line up. I'm going to start a different thread where I can post some of my completed teams - I can't do it here as I don't work exclusively purist (and technically Guido's hair had to be trimmed slightly to fit, but I'm ignoring that as it's so near!) Also, two others I just did: Puck: (ignore the muscle arms please - imagine they are plain flesh! I forgot they were on him and I can't be bothered to re-photograph) Trevor Fitzroy and Bantam:
  19. Awesome! I was working on a Mr. Sensitive also - I'd like to make all the X-Statix but it's pretty tricky to do... I had a look as I'm not too familiar with the character, but nothing sprung to mind immediately. Will keep him in mind tho :)
  20. A few more from me... Note: I just realised I used a non-purist head on Talisman. I can't be bothered to re-photograph so you will have to imagine her with a different head! Angel: Two looks, X-Men and X-Factor - using Repeter's idea for the halo in one of them. Magneto: Wolfcub: Gladiator: Morph: Sabretooth: I think this is a good use of Man-Bat's torso. Mimic: with the original X-Men's powers. Hellcat: Ghost Rider: Talisman: Venus Dee Milo: Might be my most obscure fig! Mirage and Brightwind:
  21. It's http://www.flickr.com/photos/ianmrid/ - although I think you already follow me there - unless there is another MattZitron :) I don't exclusively work purist so there are a lot more on my Flickr than make it onto this thread.
  22. These are very awesome! I now have something to do with all my spare superman torsos :D
  23. Thanks for the comments everyone! Yes, the Indiana Jones faces aren't the best maybe, but I have a lack of good female heads so she will be stuck with that one for a while at least :) Also, Stargirl has the distinction of being the first DC character I've posted! It is the back of this torso: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=973pb1258c01 I was really pleased that they had something that looked so much like his weird woolly costume :)
  24. Few purist updates from my latest Flickr upload: Squirrel Girl: design mainly came from ReZourceman - I added the tail (as suggested by someone else earlier in the thread) and changed the head/hair. Vanisher: really like this one! Mole Man: again, the pretty much exactly the same as ReZourceman, but gave him some purist Moloids and monsters! Stargirl: as requested a few pages back - I got the lastest Cap so I could put this together,
