  1. Definetly the new style look. Its always better to have a picture beside the set before you click all the links looking for it. However, for people with slower internet, it might take a while to load all of the pictures. Alright, my 200th post!
  2. Good idea for a topic. Mine is probably Kashyyk. I enjoyed the battle that was staged there and the wookiees are awesome.
  3. It looks very good. I especially like Porkin's head, its very well done. The Beer Keg Astromech is funny and makes good use of those slope pieces that seem so common these days.
  4. I've experienced that problem too. I find my knights outnumber my skellies about 3:1.
  5. It looks good. It seems you've resized the pics as well. I like the look of the whole ruined bridge!
  6. I really wish they would make lego stores in Canada.
  7. Ha Ha,good MOC. I like the "medical wing" the best! Those poor Rebels
  8. Amen to that!
  9. Thanks for the input!
  10. Thanks for adding the poll! I agree with you, Hoth/Endor BPs would have been nicer. But perhaps in `09/2010?
  11. Its a good start. It looks very accurate to the game. I look forward to seeing the finished product.
  12. Set# 7668 Set Name: Rebel Scout Speeder Theme: Star Wars Release: 2008 Pieces: 82 Minifigs: 4 Price: EUR 8.99, USD 9.99, CDN 12.99 Peeron Inventory Bricklink Inventory Brickshelf.com The Box It is a standard box with a stylized picture of the set and figs. The Back The back shows the features of the set and the 4 figs that come with it. The Instructions The instruction book is fairly standard but does not have piece callouts that show you what pieces you need. However, the set is small enough so that this is not a problem. Stickers/Decals The Set includes 6 Alliance symbol Stickers, 4 small and 2 large. I did not Apply Them. The Minifigures These are clearly the best part of the set. with a new helmet mold, new torso print and what I believe is a new head print, the four Rebel Trooper Figs are great. They are very accurate to the movies. However, the helmet seems to be oddly shaped and inaccurate.Other than that, the figs are perfect. The Weapons/Accessories The Set includes two long and two short blasters. They are in almost every SW set yet it still amazes me how much better they are than the megaphones of old. Extra Pieces The pieces that are leftover are a visor, a joystick/control Stick, a round 1 by 1 stud, a technic pin and a technic axle connector. The Rebel Scout Speeder By far the largest part of the set, the included speeder is small, curvy and aero-dynamic-looking. It can hold all four troopers(Three in the main part, and one in the Rotating Blaster Turret. The Blaster Turret This was kind of a letdown for me. The other part of the set are great but I thought the blaster cannon moved around to easily and it was always hard to get it in the exact right place. The Windscreen As I have mentioned before, I love this part. Its the standard mold for a winscreen but It is tinted darker and it adds a lot to the set. Back View This view shows the back end of the speeder and the small "mechanism" that detaches the blaster turret. I found this did not work well and more often than not it just broke the turret. Front View View From the Top The Complete Set This is the entire set, shown with the figs inside the speeder and the weapons placed in their slots on the side(a nice feature). Overall Variety of pieces:8/10 Its pretty standard but I like the windscreen and all the slope pieces. Playability:6/10 The blaster turret is mediocre and it does not detach well. Build: 9/10 The build is simple and the instructions are mistake free. Construction: 9/10 Its very sturdy and well-designed but I knocked off a point for the finnicky turret. Minifigs: 9/10 They are perfect except for the shape of the helmets. Price: 8/10 At 8.99 EUR and 9.99 USD This set is very reasonably priced. Score:49/60 Conclusion I really adore this set. I bought this set almost solely for the minifigs, which are great. However, I was surprised by how much I liked the speeder, which I originally thought was just a parts booster to justify the purchase price. But it grew on me and I have to say, the speeder is as important a part of the set as the minifigs. Thank you for reading my Review of the Rebel Scout Speeder. It is my first so comments and constructive criticism would be appreciated.
  13. Set Name: Crossbow Attack Set Number: 7090 Theme: Castle Pieces: 54 Minifigs: 3 Released: 2007 Price: 5.99USD, 3.99 EUR, 7.99 CDN Legoshop.com description: Ready, aim, fire! It's a battle of brave knights against the evil skeleton rider! Includes 2 knights, skeleton and a skeleton horse! Rolling wagon has a launcher that really fires! Bricklink Inventory Peeron Inventory Brickshelf Gallery Now, On to The Review! The Box As you can see, the front of the box illustrates the set very nicely, showing the skeleton warrior attacking and the knights firing their crossbow. The Back The Back of the box shows a small battle happening between a knight and a skeleton, as well as the main feature of the set, the firing crossbow (more on that later.) The Instructions Not much to say here, its the same as the front of the box. The Back of The Instructions This merely shows pictures of other sets in the castle line. Random Instruction page This set does not use piece callouts to tell you what parts you will need in each step. However, the set is so small you should never have trouble finding a piece. The Minifigures This is the main reason I bought this set. You get two knights, one with a standard helmet, and the other one with a new mold. You also get a skeleton warrior. The Horse The set comes with a skeleton horse that looks great. However, it is a single molded piece that has no articulation. Close-up of the Warrior riding his horse Here you see the brave skeleton riding in on his...ah......er......um......noble steed! The Accessories/Weapons For Minifigure Accessories, you get an axe, a skeleton sword, and a skeleton shield. Extra Pieces I was left with one skeleton arm and one leg when I was finished the build. The Crossbow Wagon and now, to the main part of the set, the crossbow wagon. It is really just a plate with some whells attached and a lot of those cheese wedge pieces to create the track for the projectile. Back View This view shows the mechanism that makes the crossbow fire. It is powered by a rubber band. You pull back on a technic piece, which creates tension in the elastic band. When you let go, the elastic pushes the piece forward, which in turn hits the projectile and makes it fire! It works fairly well, but I would have prefered it fired farther. Entire Set The Skeleton charges at his adversaries! The knights prepare to counterattack! Overall Build: 10/10 The build is simple, easy and quick. Set design: 7/10 The crossbow could have worked a bit better. Playability: 8/10 The crossbow is fun to shoot. Minifigs: 10/10 It doent get much better than this. I love that domed helmet mold! Price: 8/10 The set is very affordable and worth the price. Overall Score:43/50 Conclusion Overall, this is a great set and a solid army builder. You get three minifigures for a fair price and the crossbow wagon adds some much-needed playability. I bought two of these to bolster my army and to stock up on those rare domed helmet pieces. Basically, get this set! Thank you for taking the time to read my review. I hope you liked it!
  14. Set Name: The Knight Set Number: 5615 Theme: Castle Pieces: 21 Minifigs: 1 Released: 2008 Price: 1.99 EUR, 3.49 USD, 3.49 CDN LegoShop.com Description: A knightly hero!Villains beware, because here comes the Knight! With his shining armor and weapons, he's ready to defend the Castle against any foe. Includes knight minifigure with armor, shield and weapons! Peeron Inventory Bricklink Inventory Brickshelf Gallery Now to the review! The Box The box is fairly standard and illustrates the set well. The Back The back of the box is just an advertisement. The Instructions The instructions are simplistic, basic, and short. The Back of the Instructions The back of the instructions show the other impulse sets, as well as a few others. The Weapon Rack This nifty little weapon rack holds the sword, the shield, as well as a different style helmet and armour plate. The Minifigure The minifigure is of the standard castle variety, with the basic torso and helmet, and a slight scowl on his face. Accessories/Weapons The set comes with a shield, a spear, and a sword.I particularly like the pattern on the shield Different configurations With the extra pieces of equipment I mentioned earlier, itis possible to turn your figure into something totally different... The Entire Set This picture shows the weapon rack and the knight, ready to ward off skeleton invaders! Overall Build: 9/10 The build is simplistic and suitable for all ages. Design: 7/10 There really isnt much to judge in this category... playability: 8/10 With another minifig, plenty of exciting battles can be made! Minifigs: 9/10 With plenty of customisation options, you can turn this one minifig into almost anything. Price: 10/10 This set is well worth the price tag. Overall:43/50 Conclusion I really enjoy these impulse sets. For a casual lego-builder who doesn`t want to invest top dollar in lego, they are perfect, and for the hardcore fan, you could easily buy 5 or 6 of these to boost your army. This is the best impulse set of the first wave and I highly reccomend that you pick this set up soon, before they are all gone
  15. Thanks for the input. I have a severe lack of tan pieces so I cant add much more scenery. That is a good idea about positioning Anakin differently, though.
  16. I'd just like to say I am not a fan of Episode 1, but I thought this scene where Qui-Gon and Darth Maul fight on Tattooine, was pretty good. Here you see Maul and Qui-gon drawing their lightsabers and beginning to fight. Another View. Here you see Anakin lying down in the dirt, as he was told to do. An overall view. Let me know what you think!
  17. Its a good vig, but it looks a little hectic with 4 figs on such a small base. also, it looks like Yoda is getting shot in the hand!
  18. Its pretty good. It looks a little blocky around the middle though. I like the rotating blaster turret on the top. Is this totally made-up or is it part of the EU or the new CW movie? By the way, are those custom pauldrons on the clones?Anyway, good MOC.
  19. Your absolutely right. The other three jedi who attemptrd to engage Sidious had studied conventional lightsaber forms that did not focus on the sith style of fighting. Windu, however, studied a form all his own(vaapad, a variation on Juyo). It was considered the most ruthless and vicious lightsaber form ever used by a jedi and the most similar to that of the sith. So Mace Windu anticipated the attacks as they were similar to the attacks he would have used.
  20. I would be very surprised if they didn't. The wierd-eyed faces were only used so they would look like the clone wars movie/TV series.
  21. Good Vignette. I can't wait to see the rest of it!
  22. Good "MOC"! I like the way the backpacks are incorporated into the Dewback and the droid looks cool too!
  23. That looks very good. I have'nt seen the movie, so I don't have anything to compare it too, but still, it looks like that could cause a lot of misery for the CIS army. Good MOC.
  24. Actually, in the star wars mythos, there are versions of astromech droids that are just the head( called "truncated" astromechs) This was the case in the Eta-2 Actis Class Light Interceptor, which could not fit a full astromech. By the way, cool MOC, Jimbutcher!
  25. I'm glad this topic got such a good response. KimT, you are right, an advent calendar would be cool, and I surely hope they will have Endor and Hoth sets in '09 (cross your fingers for Tauntauns) but I wouldn't be surprised if you are all right and '09 is another CW year.
