Hm... considering this year, I'd agree with you on the female Strakk... because Strakk is one of the most masculine looking sets. :P but srsly, I hope he is a he... because he looks too cool to be one of the dumpy girls... :C

Don't worry about the MU: 1. That question gets answered on BIONICLE.com next month

GRESHGRESHGRESH GRESH *barf* EDIT: okay, yeah, new head piece (or at least neck piece) = true.
-
Yeah, I just messaged him and he said that he got linked to the wrong image. So yeah. Not Ignika. *whew*

Hey, you might want to spoiler number 1. Some people don't want to know that yet. You guys seem to keep forgetting. ;)
-
AHA! Further proof of a new head! look at the socket. It is facing down, toward the body. So the Impulse sets can look down! Sweeeet. His mask reminds me of Tanma's, only on fire. Way too cool. Now lessee if we can find the other set images. :)

... ... ... ... I am amazed. I'm still buying this book, even thought I know how it goes now. I need all the details. I need to see how Greg wrote it up. I still can't believe it all happened.

Yup I am. Turaga Dor: The Burninator. Much too long for common use, so switched the TheDor instead. Much faster to type. :)

Hm... am I the only one getting the same vibes from the Glatorians that I got from the Barraki? Creative, unique designs that really only work on half the sets? Of the Barraki Takadox, Ehlek and Carapar didn't suck. I feel the same way about Gresh, Tarix, and maybe Malum. They seem to be good sets, while Strakk, Skrall, and Vorox, while very good looking, seem like their creativity would impede upon them. Until I know Skrall's build, I cannot really criticize him, but he could be potentially a problem. Strakk's armor is very snazzy, but its sheer bulk would seem to get in the way. The same applies to Vorox, as well as his backwards neck tail. It goes from a thin Av-Toran limb to a thicker metru limb. I'll probably switch that when I get him, but still. The initial awesomes of these sets has worn off for me, and a closer inspection has me worried.

Huh. All my Mistika had MUCH stronger plastic than my Phantoka. :/ I guess the problem stems from people who want to build (jeeze, what self-respecting LEGO fan wants to BUILD ) more than those who want to play with the sets more. Recently I haven't felt any desire to take apart my sets, so I haven't encountered a major joint breakage problem. I have enough old sets to last a little while longer. :) ON the note of 09: so no new clearer pictures yet? bummer. It's already the middle of September! Why haven't we gotten the good pictures early yet?!

Don't know the full official name, but like Ikky said, it's called a Klakk. The set number is 20005 I think.
-
Yeah, I kno- wait what? Not until toyfair?! Psh. What would the point of leaked images be then?! We should see them popping up in Nov-Dec if they are as early as these. :P But srsly. Expect them around January, unless LEGO found out they are helping sales, and decided putting images out earlier wouldn't hurt. ;)

Ohhh.. didn't see the jump of subject set... so yeah. Noticed that kind of... but didn't really register... I hate that... but yeah woohoo. Jeeze... I just realized how this topic grew about 20 pages in three day. XD

Yeah, I know. I agree that if all I wanted was the posability, I'd have given up on BIonicle by now. What I guess I like is the combination of good looking, simple, quick but satisfying build and the articulation. yeah. /agrees. Yes, the tail on mantax was awesome, but I was more refering to the kind of awkward suddeness and change of styles on the Mata foot-av-toran limb-metru leg connection. Looked odd. Side-note: I didn't like Mantax very much, but loved the tail. Also: sorry if I soud a little irratable, just had a few stressful events recently. EDIT: wait wassthis? something about a black Brutaka blade? Where?!

They probably (probably) use the same heads as the matoran use. I'm not sure, just puttin it out there. Lego is unlikely to make a new mold for 6 sets. :/ also, the fact I couldn't find the typical neck peice on Tarix, it could just be hiding, but IDK. Here, see this gap is too big for the old neck peice (red circle, excuse the gross vista paint jpeg *vista sux*):

...really? You think he's awesome? Eurobricks has changed... Analyzing the sets from the majority of this forums' perspective... he would be considered horrible. Tail midway up his back, practically sticking out his neck (TrogDOR!!), reuse of Hewkii's blade, big clunky armor, backwards Inika torso... aside from the tan you all should be hating him but you're not. :? This applies to many of the sets... they have horrible but unique design (PRIDAK = STRAKK), flashy new parts, and you guys fall in love with them. Whereas figures with an effective but boring design are being bashed or ignored (MISTIKA = GRESH). GRARGH. People are sooo frustrating... You guys need to remember the point of BIONICLE... Figures. Not creative builds. Cool lookin' armor is important, but as a figure, IMO, the articulation and range of motion are what matter most. So most of these... especially Malum it seems... ugh... would be difficult to move at all, and aside from initial impact and a little cool factor, bleh. To settle the Strakk body thing, after inspecting the pic... it seems it is a backwards inika Torso with the joint on the back (similar to Gorast, where the neck would be normally), but with the armor attached to the front of the back? Dunno how to say that part. Leaving the Inika shoulder armor wobbly. :( Also: I think there will be a prob with the new head... it has a socket at the base, not a ball. So this will prolly introduce a new peice, like for the necks, similar to the Hordika but straight. So yeah. New peice maybe possibly. for the necks. EDIT: Urk... sorry for the block of text there... go ahead and skip over it... Just needed to vent a little... nothin to see here...

Leaked images = another round of BZP people who want info. anyways, really kinda curious about how all this will work out. I don't see why everyone hates Mata Nui being a set... cuz there really could be some kind of clever twist to it (like a new body, everyone is giant, etc...). Or it could really suck, like they decide at the last minute, "No, he's not the universe. He's this guy." Which really would suck. But until then, high hopes. About the spiked zamors: what is most likely is solid spheres with rubber spikes. Which would be lame, but not as lame as some that have come out. *squids* WOOOHOOOO 2009 WOOOHOOOO

Well, this is okay. It has a few flaws, but it does at least look feminine. The lack of armor make her look a little gangly and awkward, but I like the creative use of Inika armor and Rahkshi heads. Is this still a bit of a work in progress...? Because it seems like it to me. :/ Moar armor, and finish the mask up, and this should look fine. I don't mind the fact taht it is basically a standard Toa base, it looks like it could be improved to being good. :)

Oh yeah, I remember Xevoz. Fun times. These guys really do remind me of them too... didn't really think of that... especially Zesk and Strakk. @ the whole Skrall waist articulation: I sincerely hope he does not, but if he does it is pretty firm. because the only problem with Pridak's was the looseness, and that can probably be fixed prety easily. Or maybe he doesn't have it at all, and the slight tilt is just in the image, such is in a couple of pics of Pohatu.

Wow... this is the earliest I've seen leaked images... which is bad for lego probly. but it hypes me up more. :D So the actual sets... are way awesome. Great mix of old + new peices for the effect of Bionicle sets... while not entirely looking like they're from the Matoran Universe. LOVE Strakk's new torso build... w/ a Matoran connection peice as the connector between hips and Inika torso... Reminds me of Mantax, except good. Rebuilt it in my peices already, and love it sooo much. About the hands: Love them. They aren't necessary, but I like the feel they give the series. I also like the fact that there are sets that don't have them, such as Malum. Love Zesk and his cute four-leggediness. About the rest: The spiked balls? Weird. Dunno how you'll be able to shoot them... but I like finally having a consistant launcher... the Zamor... If they're gonna have projectiles, at least have them be able to be interchanged. Other weapons? YES. Dual weapons return, while still pleasing the young'ns with the launchers. Good move on LEGO's part. Gresh has a really big torso flaw with the armor bumping out too far... easily fixed by puting the claws on top of the armor. Overall, really excited for all of these things.

Yes, it is very likely he is, it just isn't confirmed. He may or may not exist. So we shouldn't talk about it as if it is a confirmed character yet.

Woohoo got Takanuva woohoo. He is very awesome. And very very huge. Currently my largest figure. Anyways, critique time: Takanuva: Okay, first, his box. It is ENORMOUS. Bigger than Maxilos and Spinax's box by a good margin. Not wider, but definitely deeper and taller. The image is almost life-sized, which caught me offguard. The only thing that isn't is the obviously photoshop'd mask. So onto the contents: Takanuva brings the return of numbered bags. Which is very nice. Building is much easier with the numbered bags. Speaking of which, his build is amazing (for a bionicle set that is). One major problem: the legs. They are symmetrical. Whcih means, you get to build one, and then they just slap a x2 at the end. Very irritating. Other than that, it's a very intricate build that I enjoyed quite a bit. Now, his actual figure: Takanuva as a figure is very impressive to look at. He has more realistic proportions, which I know many of you guys like. However, as an articulated figure, he has a few problems. The first is his hips/thighs. They connect with the same method Icarax uses, which is kind of good, kind of bad. They are a little weaker than previous hips, but they don't creak at every motion. The problem isn't the joint, it's the armor. The Inika foot really gets in the way of the Pohatu arms. The only solution is to tweak it in a certain way, and that locks the legs up a little. This isn't a huge problem, but it is a considerable one. THe second real flaw is the shoulders. They are much sturdier than any previous shoulder, and they need it. However, this support really limits how high he can raise his arms. He can only reach about 110 degrees. I find it annoying, but some people might not. As a final point, his armor is amazing. His mask is very similar, only larger (a lot larger), and with a few stylistic differences. The Takadox heads work very well, although are very creepy from many angles. The new Mistika sheild is very good torso armor, and really holds everything together. Well, there's Takanuva. I would recommend him, but only if you don't mind the articulation problems.

Actually, Vastus is not confirmed. It could be a simple typo, or it could be amazon coming up with their own ideas again. :)

Ooo... tough call. Gorast > Bitil > Gali > Onua > Tahu > Krika Gorast and Bitil is a bit of a toss up... Gali/Onua/Tahu is also a toss up... but Krika is my least fav... not by much... but by enough.

Okay, just got Bitil and Onua... and they are awesome. Way cooler than I anticipated. Bitil: Okay, I was a little hesitant about Bitil because of his wings, neck, body, lots of things. Turns out, none of it is necessary. Bitil is very sturdy and looks great in many poses, which are possible due to his 18 points of articulation. Way sweet. His wings fold very nicely over each other, and his neck looks great in any of the three major positions, back hunched, and upright. With it upright, he looks more calm and collected, and with it down he looks very brutal and fierce. Great set, much better than anticipated. Onua: Onua... was probably my least wanted of the Toa. He looked frail and thin, and was asymetrical and awkward. However, he, as with most of the Mistika, is sooo much better in hand. He seems beefier, more powerful, and much more awesome. The gun is awesome. He looks like he is ready to take on anything with his sheild shoulder and gunned aimed at you. His mask helps add to this, as it seems to fit its power. He has the least amount of silver, which is kinda good and kinda bad. I like the silver, although many of you don't. The only real problem with him is the fact that he doesn't stand at ease very well. He always looks dangerous and armed, which, again, can be either good or bad. Now I'm officially the proud owner of all the 2008 canister sets... woohoo.
