Haha to be honest in reality its probably not fast enough for very dynamic play ability .. Basically I have a 20 tooth bevel onto a 12 tooth bevel then running directly into the LA.. It requires only 1/2 the LA travel to turn fully from center to any one side so if you give the steering wheel (the light) a few quick sharp twists you get your steering. Space is really the problem with gearing it up any more.. There isn't much of it hehe. Umm yeah it's the black axle connectors in the back that control the functions. Cheers Henry

I have been a fan of the 8069 Backhoe loader since I bought one about a year ago. I think it is pretty good value for the money and a nice supply of the mini LA's. A few of you may have cottoned on by now that I like to make alternates with my sets and yes I have been at it again I have built an alternate to the 8069 Backhoe Loader. The design is not overly complex however the lack of space to fit the all the grearing made for a few interesting challenges.. - It uses just over 95% of the parts included in the original set. - Articulated steering (HOG) - Lifting of the bucket. - Tilting of the bucket. - The bucket is controlled by toggles located on the back end of the loader. You can check out all the pics on MY MOC PAGES Please feel free to comment. If I get enough interest I may model it up in LDD for others to build.

I'd say if the part is intended to be cut as part of an official set build then sure you should be able to cut it in the same way.. I might be a bit hazy but I'm pretty sure when I got my air tech claw rig 8868 as a young boy that the pneumatic hoses were just long lengths and you cut them to suit as you went along.. Not sure how I feel about cutting and drilling existing parts to create new ones that may well be useful but don't currently exist in any official capacity though. hmmm

What about these parts? I don't think they exist already but correct me if i'm wrong I modeled these up pretty quick so please ignore the messy CAD work haha

I do not like to use any parts that are not official Lego parts.. So I guess my opinion on what should be classed as a Legitimate MOC would have to be something along those lines

Hi Guys.. For my future mocs I thought I would like to learn some LDD or other Lego CAD program so others can build my creations. I am working on a MOC at the moment but first I needed some practise. So I have started with LDD and a small MOC of the 9390 tiny tow truck. I have made it into a small jeep. The features I think it should have- -steering -opening doors -opening tail gate. However I do not own this set so I can't build it to check if it even works but in theory I can't see why not. If anyone wants to build it drop me a msg I am more than happy to send the file or I could share it here if i knew how I would love to know how it goes together and maybe even see a pic of the real thing or any other feedback. Who knows maybe it doesn't even work

As a young boy I was very lucky to get the 8868 claw rig and 8880 super car they were my prize Lego possessions and I still have them to this day. 8880 for me has always been one of the best cos it also has an exceptional looking B model.

Hey nice work. I have been working on a moc wheel-loader of my own in the last week or so. Arrgh but you beat me to it :p My concept is plenty different though Im sure there will be room enough on here for the both of us. Henry

You have a lot of the same sets I do. One day when I move to a bigger house I will build all my sets and display them like this.. For now they live in containers.. It is nice to see that your white parts all look so white. I have seen others that are not so well looked after going a yellow colour..

Thanks.. I think.. I call it a super jeep a bit more sporty like a supercar a bit off less off roady than a jeep.. Maybe that will help me to get away with it

Ok so as promised I made you guess.. and now I can reveal my work. I made this jeep using only Technic set 8070. My aim was to create an alternate or C model for the set. This Moc uses 95% of the parts from the set. I'm not sure what percentage of total parts a true alternate would use but I think its pretty good. This model features, Independent suspension to all 4 wheels. HOG steering external control from back Mechanically opening Doors external control on side Mechanically opening bonnet/hood internal control in cab Motorized V8 engine Working motorized 4 speed gearbox ratio: 1 = 1:5, 2 = 1:3, 3 = 3:5 4 = 1:1 This model will drive on the floor quite well in 1st gear. Plus there is a slip gear in the gearbox on 1st and 2nd which helps on rough terrain. All the pics are on my moc pages. my moc pages I'm not sure how to get them on here without making them tiny If someone can help me .. There will be a video next week.. I hope... Ahh This brings back memories. It is the first Technic Lego set I ever owned. I was about 8. I lost most of the parts as I grew up but a few years ago I picked one up in excellent condition from ebay. It was nice to get my hands on one after all the years. Nice review
