  1. Things? I like things! Sign me up.
  2. So I see Pirate Survival and Soldier's Fort up on Toys R Us' site. Have these shown up in their stores yet? What about Soldier's Arsenal or Brickbeard's Bounty?
  3. Definitely picking up one each of all the sets, and will likely get multiples of the two impulse sets. If I luck out and see any of these sets on sale/clearance months down the line, I'll stock up on anything I can get.
  4. Guess this'll be the most I've ever paid for a minifigure! :)
  5. Lookin pretty cool! I really hope the Pirates line takes off and we start getting higher end and more advanced sets, like Castle's new Marketplace.
  6. Found four sets at the Greenwood, Indiana Toys R Us - Canon Battle, Krackin Attackin, Loot Island and Shipwreck Hideout. Are the two impulse sets (or impulse sets in general) kept away from the regular LEGO area in stores? I didnt even think to look elsewhere, maybe they had those too and I missed them.
  7. Sorry if these are repeats: Sub images don't appear to be working yet though.
  8. That's a set I've been most intrigued by. Going by Brickset.com it's 6253, Shipwreck Hideout. Looks cool, love the idea of the ship rebuilt on an island. So anyone know where the pic was taken? It looks like it's in-store, but Im surprised that no other info is available.
  9. What I'd give for more rolling stock (or engines for the matter). I want some cool box cars, refrigerated cars, hoppers, gondolas... I ended up buying six sets of the TTX intermodal cars to go with my BNSF engine. Slowly but surely buying the Santa Fe cars to go with my Santa Fe engine (still need two 10022 sets). Im going to start playing around and making my own cars and engines, but I still want official sets too! Either that, or expand the LEGO Factory/pickabrick to include more bricks so we can make better trains via Factory.
  10. Interesting! I live in New Ross's sister town (or at least it's namesake, but Im pretty sure there is some sort of official relationship) here in the states, also called New Ross. It's a little town in W/NW Indiana, about 500 people. I remember looking through history books about our town and reading about New Ross in Co Wexford.
  11. I have a large collection of 9V track, about 2/3 of it is from the World City line that was sold up through last year (and still clearanced at LEGO shop). The rest of the track is from thr 4534 LEGO Express set. The 4534 track, I've noticed, is a bit darker, kind of a more true gray, and the track from the World City line is a lighter, bluish gray. Is there any difference in terms of value or desirability? I'd much rather have all matching track, so Im wondering if it's fair to seek out trades, my 4534 LEGO Express track for an equal amount of World City track.
  12. Any suggestions for other vegatation like corns, beans, etc?
  13. Here are some of the cars I really like: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=268034 Back row, the boxcars, gondolas and hoppers. Are those Factory buildable?
  14. Maybe I've just never figured out the LEGO Factory site, but can you not view all of the entries into the factory? It seems like unless they're linked directly, older items fall off the listings beyond 20 pages. That's besides the point though... Are there any cool fan created trains available through the LEGO Factory, stuff on par with this Bricklink shop? http://www.bricklink.com/store.asp?p=Opie&itemID=9808582 I realize I wont find anything with decals, but strictly speaking brickwise, anyone have links to some top notch trains in the factory? Basically I just really want to get some cool cars, but don't really have the expertise to build them to this calibre.
  15. With farms coming to Legoland, we really need some hoppers and box cars to go with our trains...
  16. Looks like the pictures have been taken down?
  17. I LOVE the farm stuff. I thought there was a rumbling about trains? Was I mistaken?
  18. I'd like to be raffled please. Er, rather, I'd like to enter the raffle, please.
  19. Anxious to see how these upcoming sets turn out. I've been tinkering with picking up the new castle sets from the past year (well, 2007 and 2008), but now Im thinking maybe Ill hold off for the pirates instead!
  20. Great idea! Thanks! I can just print these lists, go through the -1 instruction books and scratch off the pieces used. The remainder will be the unused pieces, which I can then go track down in my bin-o-LEGO-bricks.
  21. So Im thinking about selling my two Santa Fe Train cars: one 10022 and one 10025. Each are built and decalled in their -1 (first instruction book) formats. Well I made the mistake of lumping all of the leftover pieces in with a ton of other sets, now I don't know what pieces are needed to make the sets complete. Can anyone help me and post a list of leftover pieces that you have once you build each of these sets in the -1 configurations? Im tempted to sell it "as built" but figured that if I were a buyer, I'd want the complete set. I do have the leftover labels and instruction books, so once I find the pieces, everything will be there. I'll be selling the rest of my gear too: One Santa Fe engine (not LE), one BNSF engine (with motor), 6 pairs of TTX intermodal cars (that is, 6 10020 sets), some extra mini figures and a boatload of track.
  22. For me, I think if Market Street was truly part of this series, it wouldn't have been released under the Factory label, and would have been built a bit differently. Because of the style, it doesnt really assure maximum "compatibility" with the other sets because of the top level (as you can see, the minifig "living" at the top of Market street only gets a view of the side wall of the building). I outline my other reasons many posts ago, like the "true" modular nature of Market Street, while the others aren't (you can't change the order of the floors, etc).Differences in pieces (like special elements and colors included in 10182 and 85), differences in architecture, differences in packaging, pricepoint, etc. Even the naming (Green Grocer, Cafe Corner, they're both alliterative names, unlike Market Street). Compatible, yes, same line? I still dont feel like it is. Im not trying to call anyone out, that's just how I personally feel. I like what these were called by some other collectors. "Ultimate Collector Series Town" or "UCS Town". I think that's a fitting description. But enough of that, back to how excited I am about Green Grocer! Im really looking forward to what else goes into this line. I'd love to see something created to furnish the Corner Cafe set. For future sets, it'd be cool to get a book store, maybe an antique shop, etc. I'd love a fire department and police department in matching colors!
