Anyone know the story behind these cases? http://www.ebay.com/sch/m.html?_from=&_nkw=&_armrs=1&_ssn=brickdisplays&_pgn=3&_skc=100&rt=nc Basically I'm just curious if the acrylic cases themselves are found items, or if this seller or some other artisan has built them specifically for minifigures. Of all the displays out there, these are some of the coolest I've seen yet.

I'm quite excited about this, and anxious to see the minifig system they go with. My only beef with the Toy Story style is that the heads seem oversized, IMO. Time for a Modular Building style Springfield! And I'll agree with others - Simpsons is definitely more targeted towards adults, the vast majority of the humor is stuff that only adults would really get or appreciate. Regardless though, I say bring em on!

Not a licensed product, but I think this has a lot of potential to be really cool: http://rollercoasterfatory.myshopify.com/products/roller-coaster-factory It's a LEGO compatible building set from Coaster Dynamix, makers of scale operating roller coaster models. Really cool stuff. I just wonder how big you can build the actual cars for the coaster. As you can see, in the example model, they've not put together any cars on the wheel trucks.

Agreed. If you don't like the pet shop, just terminate their lease and bring in a new tenant.

Trading Collectable Minifigs Series 1, 2 and 3
BigDumbWookiee replied to danim's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
I, too, am interested in trading a complete, sealed, series 2 set for a series 4 set. It can be opened, as long as it's 100% complete (including all mini posters, extra pieces, etc). -
Is there any standardization to stores like Target and WalMart putting items (in this case, LEGO) on clearance? Are there good sites to keep an eye out for people discussing deals they're finding for LEGO sets? I really want to add some Prince of Persia sets to my collection, but mainly just want them for parts, so I'd like to snag them on clearance/sale.
-
With the Maersk train coming, I'd really like to add (back) to my collection, the Santa Fe engine and cars, BNSF engine, and TTX cars. Looking for opinions - am I better off trying to purchase a completed set on eBay/BrickLink, or should I buy all the parts seperately (including decals and instructions) via BrickLink? I don't care about having an "authentic" set, as long as all the parts are accurately/correctly represented.

My money is on east / southeast Pacific.

These sets are awesome, definitely will get some to mine for parts. Just curious on other's feelings - what's your stance on mixing classic yellow minifigs with fleshies? I like the fleshies, they look cool, but to me, yellow minifigs are classic LEGO. I love the new torsos, but exposed flesh tones means they won't be mixable with yellow parts. -

Trading Collectable Minifigs Series 1, 2 and 3

I have many collectible minifigures available, and would like to trade for/towards Pirates II swag. I'm specifically looking for Brickbeard's Bounty and the Imperial Flagship - glad to do trades + $$. As long as they're complete with instructions and clean, it doesn't matter if the original box is included. Would also be interested in mixed lots of Pirates II set pieces. For trade, I have: Series 1, Open, unless otherwise noted: Ninja (2) Spaceman (3) Diver (3, 1 is sealed) Cowboy (3) Clown (1) Robot (2) Dummy (2) Magician (2) Series 2, Sealed unless otherwise noted. Basically two complete sets and extras: Mariachi (3) Weightlifter (3) Singer (2) Skier (2) Disco (2) Karate Guy (4) Surfer (2) Pharoah (2) Spartan (2) Ringmaster (4) Witch (3) Vamp (3) Traffic Cop (4) Explorer (2) Life Guard (3) Mime (3) Series 3, Open unless otherwise noted: Hula (2) Sumo (1) Baseball (2) Samurai (3) Pilot (1) Fisherman (2) Racer (2) -

Okay, so it's easy enough if I'm looking for a particular LEGO set, minifigure, specific part, etc. eBay, BrickLink, whatever. What is the easiest/most effective way to buy mixed lots of specific series? Basically, I want mixed lots (pieces and minifigs) of Pirates II. Suggestions?

Holy cow, those are absolutely phenomenal.

BigDumbWookiee replied to paul_delahaye's topic in LEGO Train Tech
I will definitely find a way to try and get this, even if I have to sell plasma or get a second job. I'd love to see more American style diesel engines. *sigh* Oh I miss my Santa Fe and BNSF engines...- 379 replies

The emporium had mannequins, therefore the next set has to be a mannequin shop.

Selling my 10190 Market Street set. This set was previously assembled, but now disassembled and inventoried to confirm it is 100% complete. Directions are included, but no box is included. Bricks are clean, from a smoke free home, and no dust is present (or so little that it's not visible). My asking price is $300 OBO, with free US shipping. I'm also including a large lot of 39 town people as a bonus. Pics below, but included are: 7 firemen 6 policemen 1 construction worker 8 sanitation workers 2 medical workers / EMTs 15 other miscellaneous town folk, including train people Miscellaneous torsos, headpieces and accessories Note - the display plate shown is the plate for 101090, and is not an extra plate. http://img411.imageshack.us/i/20110116095152.jpg/ http://img151.imageshack.us/i/20110116095202.jpg/ http://img109.imageshack.us/i/20110116095135.jpg/ PM me if you're interested or want to make an offer. Will also consider trades/partial trades. I'm after 6243 - Brickbeard's Bounty, 10210 - Imperial Flagship, the Pirates advent calendar and/or the Pirates battle pack. I will offer $150 off the price of Market Street for the BrickBeard's Bounty set - bringing the set to $150. I will offer $200 for the Imperial Flaghsip, bringing the set to $100. Edited 1/20 - Price lowered

How do you display your Lego sets?
BigDumbWookiee replied to Cloud0's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Well I'm convinced. Definitely need to get IKEA Detolf cabinets for my modular buildings. Looks perfect!
