Admiral 4J to Lord *vader*: Enclosed is my report on the species that refers to themselves as the Chiss: Designation: Sentient Homeworld: Csilla Average Height: 1.7 meters With blue skin, jet-black hair, and glowing red eyes, the Chiss would command attention in a group of other humanoids. Their skin and eye colors are to due a chemical reaction to an oxygen atmosphere, and the more oxygen contained in the air they breathe, the greater the intensity of these two features. In addition, the evolved changes to their eyes have given the Chiss superior visual acuity, even in low-light conditions. Occasionally their black hair will gray with age, especially in females. This is considered a mark of distinction in their culture; among Chiss, it is felt that the child of a parent possessing gray hair will greatly affect society. Other than their distinctive eye and skin color, there is little else to differentiate them physically from standard humans. The Chiss are typically attractive, intelligent, and private people, and so protective of their society that they have managed to keep their species' existence largely secret from the rest of the galaxy. This isolationism makes it difficult to form conclusive statements about the Chiss. For instance, it is believed that they do not experience an adolescent stage of life, but advance quickly to full maturity. However, this may be a result of societal and cultural influences and demands rather than physical growth, or some combination thereof. It is also believed that the Chiss are descended from an ancient human colony founded in an age predating the Old Republic. However, they are sufficiently different from humans to be considered an independent species, as is the case with the Zeltrons. The Chiss are highly evolved, taking great interest in art and science, and maintain a powerful military. In many accounts, they are described as pensive--contemplative, deliberate, and calculating--studying situations from every viewpoint and considering all the alternatives when making a decision. The Chiss control more than two dozen systems surrounding their homeworld of Csilla, in a political federation known as the Chiss Ascendancy. Their society is regimented, inflexible, and strangely xenophobic, and their colonization and control of neighboring worlds was evidently achieved not for want of power or riches, but instead to establish order over chaotic elements that could ultimately pose a threat to them. Indeed, the Chiss are generally a peaceful species, but when attacked, they fight with efficient, well-planned strategies, and they do not give up the battle until their opponents are destroyed or subjugated. Most, if not all, of the systems they conquered were defeated after their respective leaders attacked the Chiss, as it is against the law for Chiss to engage in preemptive strikes. The Chiss have no known Force traditions. Statistically speaking, it is unlikely that Force sensitivity is so rare among an entire species once evidence of its existence has been demonstrated (one Dark Jedi was rumored to have lived--Sev'rabce Tann), especially in a species so biologically similar to the most widespread Force-users, humans. However one can hypothesize that Chiss practicecs and beliefs may have led to such a lack of Force traditions and known Force-users. As the Chiss believe that aggression against a potential enemy is forbidden until that enemy has launched an attack, the power bestowed by Force-sensitivity may be considered too great a temptation. Thus, hypothetically, if there are unrecorded Force-users among the Chiss, they may work to keep their talents a secret. One's family is a paramount concern for the Chiss, and a Chiss Force-user may fear bringing shame on them--or worse, exile. A public prohibition against disclosing one's talents in the Force may be so strong that unless Chiss are Force-sensitive themselves, they are unaware the Force exists. Chiss society is directed by fuling "families" that are not necessarily indicative of bloodline so much as function, and each family is its own brance of the Chiss government or society. Although details are unclear, reports are that the number of ruling families has fluctuated somewhere between three and twelve. Some facts have also been discovered regarding four of the families. The Nuruodo family controls the military and foreign affairs, and the Csapla family administers the use of the Ascendancy's natural and agricultural resources and manages colonial issues. The Sabosen supervise education, justice, and public health, while the Inrokini direct business, communications, civilian technologies, and the sciences. One difficulty in uncovering further details on the culture of the Chiss is their incredibly complex language, Cheunh, which is one of the most intricate and indecipherable of all humanoid dialects in the galaxy. It is theorized that the Chiss prefer it that way, as this complexity makes it that much harder for outsiders to learn about them. There is report that one of the Nuruodo family's own was recently banished due to a preemptive strike on an enemy. He goes by the name of Thrawn, and is said to be their greatest tactician. What would you have me do, my Lord?

Apparently so, guess I don't remember those animals as well as I though :-$
-
I wonder if that's the same reason they usually add in a spacey background :-P
-
What? The batters is all in that little saber? not even Brickmodder can make them THAT small :-D (though he did light up a 1x1 plate... The saber is attached to the body, and is activated by pushing down on the head, thereby rendering most of the fig useless (and with a limp neck)
-
Whoa, I just noticed...FOUR golden katanas in the temple set *wub*
-
More like best set ever. It's entirely brick built, not one but <insert that tiresome argument>, and an excellent yellow parts pack ;-) :-P
-
They wouldn't dare, not after replacing the Windu LULS. I was really hoping all the LULS figs would get replaced though :-/ The green alien would've been great...
-
I dunno, I think they'll be popular enough. I mean they do only come in one set, but I'd be surprised if the BL price of them was about $1.20US each
-
Okay, then the Cyclone Defender was bad too :-P Seriously, if you're gonna have a big expensive mech, you should invest a few extra bucks in making a more secure cockpit...that one's just pathetic :-X MOC a good one onto it though, and the rest looks fairly sweet. The golden katanas are still the best part of the line IMO ;-)
-
Like I said, at least it's a step in the right direction...but until they make another step I'll choose to believe that, cover my ears, and hum something
-
Same here. I'll trade new for old.

Well technically the romans were in the BC, as well as the lion's share of human civilization. Maybe you just mean when dinos were around? First, I hate to break your bubble, but humans NEVER coexisted with dinos of any variety. As for horses that existed at the same time as dinos, they did. However they were monsterous in size, several times larger than modern horses. Humans did coexist with neanderthals though, however we won out ;-) If you're just going for fantasy though, feel free to just do whatever :-P
-
Wikipedia? Well they have the information first, and they're always correct :-| Give me about ten minutes and I can have it saying the new sets contain Luke Skywalker and Dumbledor :-D I think we need to wait for someone credible to confirm any more sets, not wiki ;-)
-
Wait, how did I miss that the Gold City set has GOLDEN katanas? The gold accessories are the only real reason to pick the set up anyway ;-) The last set looks nice too, but eh...that cockpit is just pathetic :-X :-X Now all I need is a white katana :'-)
-
The color scheme is dark blue

He's nice to her every day ;-) Happy Birthday, I hope it's as special as you are to each other :-)

I loved this little vehicle when it first came out. It's since been canabalized, but I still have the parts somewhere. Great little review!

This is how I feel. When I heard life on mars, my expectations sunk. These sets are, in my opinion, much better than LoM, and a step in the right direction. I pray we'll get more and better space themes in the coming years.
-
They just HAD to include a set for scarecrow now that he can have an ACTUAL scythe :-P Phenomenal sets here too!
-
Those new droid arms will be hot sellers on bricklink! Although a whole new mold was...a silly idea. They could've just designed new guns (and should have IMO). All the sets look phenomenal, I'll need to get them all! I can't wait, what excellent news! Lego is definitely going in the right direction here!
-
Yes, of course... :-| :-D First Stewie and now Peter? Good lord X-O :-P I'm Justin. 21 years old, senior in Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. I really like most genre of Lego, my favorite two being Space and Castle (subsets included).

Where to buy single LEGO bricks and -elements?

It's great, thanks! I've ordered from her before, and she's been great. I normally don't get a good feel for a place until I've ordered from them a bunch, so I didn't automatically associate her with bley
