  1. What an accurate model! This is real eye candy for a former Mechwarrior fan like myself. I can tell you put a lot of effort into this. Keep up the good work! Why don't you do a Catapult or Uziel next?
  2. I am absolutely in love with this set. It just oozes that Harry Potter atmosphere that everyone knows and loves. I think its a lot better than any of the other models we've gotten from the latest wave (like the new "Hogwarts") and it has all the class of a Town set. I think you've sold me on it, thank you! Great review.
  3. I gotta admit that the Witch Doctor is pretty eye-catching.
  4. Thanks for another stellar review Final Exit! This set is growing on me... somewhat. I still don't see myself (or too many other people) shelling out $60 for this skeleton of a mothership. But the overall aesthetics are quite nice and it works well as a display piece. The minifigures, while EXTREMELY disappointing in number for the price tag, are still awesome. I'm glad they're both exclusives, otherwise this set would be a very tough sell. I'd like to see a few more photos, or even one of your entire collection put together. Still a great review!
  5. I'm starting to realize a big drawback to the mother ship is this: For a model that's supposed to hover over everything, you'd think it would be especially important to make a nice looking underside. But this mother ship's underside is terrible. Why on earth would they use white and red bricks for the bottom? If I saw that hovering over my city, I'd just laugh and the alien's colorblindness. I still don't think the set is bad overall, but that seems like a huge oversight.
  6. There go my funds for the summer.
  7. At least it's a damn sight better than this: I think the set is good enough to merit a review, the only real flaw is the price tag for me.
  8. The mothership just doesn't seem worth the money to me. Only two minifigures for $60? The abduction set had three. The size is impressive though, but again, too bare bones for the price tag. I'll be skipping it, although I don't think the set is altogether bad (the design is nice), its just not a great buy.
  9. I like this set, but mostly the idea of it than the actual model. It's pretty good, but unfortunately Alien Conquest will absorb too many of my funds for me to shell out for this little set Still I like the look of it, and it's about time we got a lighthouse! Great review
  10. I think it would be more accurate to say the Separatist Spider Droid looks like a WoW walker. Thanks for an excellent, and very thorough, review! I really like this set, it's been a theme standout since we starting seeing the first pictures. Now that it's here I'm glad to see it doesn't disappoint. I like the look of the complete walker, the height is impressive and the aesthetics are nifty. Any comment on how articulated the legs are? I think I've seen some pictures that seem to display a surprising amount of leg articulation. No way I'm missing out on this set.
  11. People do seem to love windmills. I don't collect Castle, but this set looks like a really nice dose of originality in a theme that seems to be running out of ideas. The minifigs are excellent and I really love the way the buildings are designed. It reminds me of the farmland I visited when I was younger and lived out in the country. Great review, I doubt I'll have the spare cash for this set but it's one I definitely wish I could pick up.
  12. I'm a big fan of the aesthetics here. It's very clean looking. I hope your camera is back in working order soon so we can see some nice detailed pics of this beauty.
  13. Thanks for another swell review Final Exit! The B movie vibes of this set are hard to resist. I like the overall design of the saucer, although I think the cockpit could have used some more attention. Awesome minifigs, and the abduction effect is WAY cooler than I thought it could be. Overall I agree with your assessment; worth picking up, but not perfect. I plan on getting it.
  14. They're pretty standard. The HQ is $90, the Jet-Copter is $40, the Mothership is $60, the Abduction is $30 (I believe), the tripod is $20 and the two smaller sets are $10 and $5 (I think you can guess which is which).
  15. This set is just jaw-dropping. The first pics were nice looking but not phenomenal, but after seeing your review it's become my must-have set of 2011. The entire truck is solidly built and none of the features feel tacked on. The fighter is a thing of beauty, too. What an elegant design. My only complaint is that, at that price point, I think I would have liked one or two more ADU troopers. But still, the high number of exclusive figs makes up for it. Absolutely stunning set. Great review, too.
  16. Awesome MOC, but what really won me over was the ship wreckage on the side of the cafe. It just adds an awesome sense of style to the entire model. Really classy entry you have there sir.
  17. Well, it stands to reason that a 12-year-old's sense of aesthetics are less refined than an adult's. That's why kids movies tend to be so mind-numbingly dull. But I don't see why that's necessarily bad. As a kid I was in love with LEGO's Throwbots line, and for that reason I'm still fond of them today, but I'm not unaware that the sets are pretty outdated in terms of functionality and posability (compared to today's Hero Factory sets). Color me jealous.
  18. Man, these sets look amazing. I can't wait to see reviews for the Tripod and Jet-Copter. It's at times like these that I wish I had money to spend on stuff like this! EDIT: Does anyone know if these sets are showing up at Walmart yet?
  19. Awesome review, you've sold me on this set- I was hesitant to buy it at first, since it seemed somewhat thrown together at first glance, but it's a pretty sweet deal considering what you get. Plus, any excuse for those minifigs. Great job!
  20. That $10 set is growing on me!
  21. I'm a fan of the Jet-Copter, but I wouldn't mind skipping it just to save money for the HQ. As much as I like the design for both of them, the HQ takes the cake for me, and at that price I'm gonna have to cut expenses somewhere. I think a lot of people probably think like that, especially those who also plan on collecting other themes.
  22. As many have been saying, your review is excellent! The set is fantastic too- it's actually one of my most nostalgic models from childhood. I'm pretty sure I still have the light-n-sound brick lying around somewhere. I wish I had kept it intact - it really is a beauty! Great work.
  23. I'll agree with just about everyone else in saying that the exterior looks fantastic, but the lackluster interior keeps the model from really measuring up to its $120 price tag. It is a pretty ship though. Thanks for the review.
  24. Neptune Carrier: worth buying?
  25. Wow! Already? I guess it's time to start saving up for that HQ.
