  1. Holy cow that looks awesome. I'll buy for the minifigs alone.
  2. It doesn't matter how often I see the Galactic Titan, it's always like love at first sight.
  3. LOVING the Stagecoach. These sets really have that Wild-West appeal. I'm liking them immensely.
  4. I'm already sold on the Galactic Titan, but it's cool to see some new pictures "in the flesh". Such a stunning set at a reasonable price. After reading LEGO's 2012 financial results, I am struck by how low original ideas rank for the company. The top earners were 1) City, 2) Star Wars, 3) NinjaGo and 4) Friends. NinjaGo was an original IP, and I'm glad that it turned out to be profitable, but there's no mention of any other original IPs. I think there's a correlation between this and the fact that all of the Cuusoo projects to reach 10,000 have been licensed (besides Space Troopers, which struggled for a long time to reach 10k). I wish there was a solid business incentive for investing in LEGO Space like they did in the 90s. Oh well.
  5. It's hard to know. LEGO plans the subsequent waves for themes FAR in advance, so at this point, GS's future is already set in stone. It has to do with sales projections, available time and resources for the designers, etc. I'd like to think that GS's relatively high marketability would lead LEGO to give it a bit more love before replacing it, but only time will tell. Don't count on Chima getting cancelled though. LEGO's invested so much into that theme that we'll be seeing it around for some time to come. Not that it really matters - I don't see Chima as a direct competitor with GS?
  6. I think it looks good... I'm kind of amazed that people are complaining about movie accuracy here. This is about as movie accurate as it gets... some people are just never pleased. That said, its a tiny bit out of my price range. There are a lot of other sets I want to get this year. If it ever goes on sale, I MIGHT get it, but for now I'll have to hold off.
  7. Correct, and for all we know it is quite likely that 70703 will be the only set to get the red Buggoid. A third wave remains but a possibility, and seeing as the red Buggoid is missing from the second wave, I'm pretty sure he's only around to add value to a store exclusive. I'd snatch him up while you can.
  8. I'll have to admit that I never understood the appeal of purchasing multiples...
  9. We're definitely missing an HQ of some kind. The humans kind of have one now with the Galactic Titan, but some kind of alien hive with a Queen minifigure would be fantastic. That's if we see a third wave, of course...
  10. "M" presumably stands for "Magnet" since the theme highlights magnets as a play function. But you're right, the names are pretty ambiguous. Personally, I don't mind the abundance of land vehicles. Although I prefer space-fairing vehicles, remember that Space Police had the opposite problem - only one or two land vehicles compared to two entire waves of starships. I think the theme is kind of characterized by ground-based combat, which is fine with me. I'm probably going to wind up blowing a good $250 on the Summer wave alone... I guess it's time to start saving eh?
  11. New pictures are awesome, specifically the box pictures. Eradicator Mech looks FANTASTIC now though. I'm glad the Crater Creeper turned out to be kind of underwhelming, so I can save at least a few dollars this Summer. The Titan is as awesome as ever, same as the Hive Crawler. Good stuff. EDIT: Titan $99.99!! That's a very reasonable price for a set that large. Fantastic, LEGO.
  12. Which is completely in line with the flagship Space vehicles of the past. They've all been modular. Kinda surprising there hasn't been one already, to be honest.
  13. By far the most interesting Cuusoo theme to date. Supported, and I hope you get to the 10,000 mark.
  14. If it's the only one with the new alien, then I'm sold!
  15. Well, after seeing that, I think I can finally dish out some detailed opinions on GS wave 2. Galactic Titan: An absolute MUST-have and possibly the star of the whole theme. From what I've seen, it tops 7066 by a significant margin. Massive size, excellently executed splitting function, TWO substantial side-models for the opposing side (sporting very unique designs) and some fantastic aesthetics. I'd buy the thing for the dropship alone. It's like a Solar Snooper on steroids... SO MUCH YES. The only thing that remains to be seen is the minifigure selection. If it has exclusives, there's no way I'm passing this up. Hive Crawler: I'm a little less enthusiastic about this one than I was initially, but still nice overall. As a few people pointed out, the construction leaves more than a few unsightly gaps. Beyond that though it really is quite appealing and probably the most bug-like vehicle yet. The crawling function looks great in motion, if a tiny bit exaggerated. Still no great views of the red vehciles but they look to be a step up. I wouldn't call this a must-have, but it's definitely a good looking set. Orange Mech (forgot the name): I'm actually a lot more positive on this one than I was before. Although we haven't seen too much of it yet, I like the way its designed. It's very tall and reminds me a bit of MechWarrior (which always scores points with me). The smaller Insectoid units it comes with are a pretty unimpressive, but that's not really a dealbreaker. Crater Creeper: ...meh.
  16. Toy fairs are rarely comprehensive anyway. Galaxy Squad, like most Space themes, aren't really pushed too hard at these events. Especially with Chima and Star Wars hogging the limelight. Brick-built minifig busts, huge displays, .etc - what does GS get? A table.
  17. I think Chima and SW are looking alright, but I agree, Galaxy Squad's prospects are the most interesting. I was a little underwhelmed by wave 1, especially with higher price point sets. Wave 2 seems to be addressing that.
  18. That's what I'm holding out for. The NY toy fair usually comes with an explosion of pictures. I think we'll get a lot of good shots of the summer wave.
  19. So are the fox people getting any sets now that we've seen the figs?
  20. The Galactic Titan looks like it could genuinely go toe-to-toe with legendary 7066. The Hive Crawler looks good - I wouldn't worry about the cockpit enclosure, since it seems that the demonstrator flipped them forward intentionally. They can still snap back into a more desirable position.
  21. I have a plan this summer. On my pay day, I'm going to buy the Galactic Titan, Hive Crawler, and a six-pack of Domain Dupage. And then I'm going to have the best Friday night in the entire state.
  22. Especially the new Castle sets.
  23. I actually like the mech, but it's fairly dull in comparison to the other two flagship sets from wave 2.
  24. Looking at the pictures I find myself kind of disinterested. I like Castle but these sets are so bland there's nothing drawing me to them.
  25. I assumed it was the Hive Crawler but I could be wrong. There also seems to be some kind of Insectoid outpost, which looks very neat. IMO this wave is leaps and bounds above the first one. The detachable shuttle on the Titan alone is a massive improvement.
