    Instead of posting images of my mods in the 2016 Topic, I decided to make a new one to show them off. First I'll start with the two creatures, Ikir and Terak: Ikir: Front Back Terak: Back is pretty much the same as Ikir's. Notes: Regarding the creature's gimmick: While I found the gimmicks fun to mess with, I didn't like the technic backpack they had due to it, so I removed it. Personally, I found Terak looks better with the silver PoU than the gold one. Next the two Toa, Lewa and Pohatu: Lewa: Front Back Pohatu: Front Back Upper torso assembly Shoulder pad assembly Notes: Lewa is pretty much the same as in my previous image, save for the lower legs and eyes. I wasn't aware Pohatu only came with two dark tan shells (error on my part), so he's using silver ones until I can get a hold of more dark tan shells. Finally Umarak: Front Back Upper torso assembly front Upper torso assembly back Lower leg assembly Bow assembly Notes: Since I had no plans on ever using the "Unity" gimmick with Umarak, I modded his upper back to remove said connection points.

    My job has some of the 2016 sets in (the creatures, Lewa, and Pohatu), I picked up Terak, Ikir, a second Lewa (for parts) and Pohatu. Ikir and Terak's gimmicks were pretty neat, but I didn't like the technic backpack on them, so I removed it. I originally was going to use Pohatu for parts, but seeing how nice his mask looked in person, I built and modified him. I'll post pictures later, but in my opinion, Pohatu looks much better with more dark orange and less silver on him.

    Thanks for the comments, for the time being Umarak and Lewa are going to be the only two sets I'll be getting (planning on getting Ikir and Terak when the sets appear in stores). I think it's a tad silly to say the designers gave up on the sets. I'm pretty sure the designers give it their all to make the sets look the way they want them to and fit the budget restrictions.

    With the exception of the raised shoulders, bow, and lower legs, he's pretty much stock build. Here's the LDD mock-up I did which has the mods I've done.

    Lewa and Umarak came in today. The new 2016 torso shell looks better in hand that it does in pictures, IMO. Umarak is nothing but awesome. As with every set I get, I modified them to my liking:

    Ordered Lewa and Umarak from Toysrus, both should be here next week.

    Question for those who have the 2016 sets: How do the Toa look with their 2015 torso shell? Also, can the standard Hero Factory torso shell attach directly to the new torso piece without needing this piece.

    Out of all of the 2016 Toa, Lewa is my favorite, and will be the only one I'll buy (subject to possible change). The lack of yellow doesn't bother me at all, if anything I like how Lewa looks without yellow (the fact I replaced the yellow shells on 2015 Lewa with silver ones should say something lol).

    That's disappointing, how do the 2016 Toa look with their 2015 torso shell?

    Kopaka looks pretty bad looking, mainly it's the random dark blue shells on his arms and the gold on the addon piece. VBBN, how does Kopaka, or any of the Toa, look with the 2015 version's torso shell.

    I don't think I ever gave much thought in Mata Nui's appearance, if anything, I always thought of him being a god-like entity with no physical body.

    Toa new forms look interesting, but I'm sticking with their 2015 forms. Umarak looks neat, except for his lower legs. I'll wait to see better images of the creatures before I comment on them, but so far I'm not interested in what I can see.

    I bought myself Jango Fett the other night. and I managed to attached the jet pack to a HF torso shell, I also disabled the flick firing function, rose up the jetpack to sit higher on his back, made the missile longer so it sticks up from behind his head: How I did so :

    After my shift was over, I went and bought myself Cody. I would have bought Jango Fett as well, but funding issues... Pic of some mods I did for my figure.

    Personally, I see no problem in modifying the gearbox, especially since it allows the shell to attach closer to the backs of the Toa. Heck, I modify a small amount of parts I own in similar matters myself.

    I like Slicer, him and Ekimu vs Grinder are going to be the only sets I'm getting. I say that now, but when the sets do come out, watch me buy them all :P

    Obi-wan is amazing, Grievous doesn't look as good as I imagine, but he still looks good. Both are going to be bought by me.

    When the summer sets come out, the only ones I'm planning to get are: Mask Maker vs. Skull Grinder (Only for Ekimu) and Skull Slicer (yes, I actually like the the set ). When the Star Wars CCBS sets come out, I'm only going to buy Grievous, depending on how he looks.

    I got my Hero Pack (as well as the Double-Decker Couch) today. The Trans-orange Hau looking really nice in hand.
