  1. Can't help thinking that the beatles looks a little out of place in the rest of that list !!!! We have a record player and are using it to copy the albums onto the pc as mp3's as it is much easier to press a couple of buttons than it is to find the lp you want clean it and put it on (and stop the kids from knocking the cabinet and making the needle jump). Most weekends we like to stick the media centre on ramdom and listen to the music from about 9 am till 6 pm. I hate those kiddy songs - my other half has them in the car cd player when she is out with the kids but i turn them straight off if i am in the car and the kids have to listen to proper stuff instead but they like a lot of what we do anyway so it's not too bad for them.
  2. Quite a good collection here but not massive by a lot of peoples standards. We have about 485 cd albums and another 350 ish on vinyl that we need to convert to mp3 but it is a very longwinded process so we haven't done many yet, which is a great shame as some of my favourite rock albums from the late 80's need converting. I'd rather just by them again on cd but that would eat into my lego spending
  3. Knew you would be first to post it somewhere kimt Well done ferrari another great day in the history of the team.....
  4. Good for you guys that are getting sets but i am kind of annoyed at this decision. The US gets quite a few sets that we in the UK (and other parts of europe) do not. We complain and TLG says "hard luck" basically. Then we get one set that you guys dont, you complain and TLG caves in and kisses a***. Sucks if you ask me and shows how much importance lego attaches to the US market (or how much disdain they have for europe !). Why cant they just treat us all the same. Enjoy your calenders though folks they are GREAT !!
  5. I think that bit at the bottom of the box that says "24 gifts" may also be a clue ? Edit: Darn hamilton beat me to it, really should refresh my browser if i leave pc for a while..
  6. The 3 technic pins and 2 technic bushes are both normal extras. i think you may have missed out the 2 1x1 bricks and the tile with clip from somewhere but i think the shield is just a bonus in your case. i only got 3 shields in the 7094's that i bought.
  7. Possibly the best fabuland moc so far. The drum kit is real cool as is the roadie and his control desk. Bet they would sound a lot better than the real thing too......

Congratulations on both moc's (?). The ship looks awesome and your daughter looks lovely. Make the most of her being the size she is because in no time at all she will be crawling round the floor grabbing any lego left laying around. Then walking round pulling lego off of the tables she can reach even if it means climbing onto chairs to get it- i know because our little girl is 15 months old now and nothing is safe !!
  9. Well now i am back from a short holiday i will be going back to work tomorrow (boo). I work as a marine electrician for a small company that make instrument panels and power distribution panels for luxury motor yachts. I help build and design the panels and have to go and fix them if they ever develop a fault (or, as is usually the case if some clown wires them up wrong). Unfortunately this is only local - i never get to go and fix the ones sold to the states or down in the mediterranean
  10. I did re-read all her posts for the last 48 hrs when i saw the bad kid tag in case i had overlooked something she had posted.
  11. Oh dear jessica it looks like you have fallen foul of the forum nazi's ! I can't see as you've done anything to really warrent the bad kid tag in my opinion so i wouldn't let it get you down. I don't post much myself as i prefer to read other peoples post and lurk unless something really catches my eye or irksme. Unlike you who posts lots, okay it may be better if you finished one story before you start another but it's not like you've killed someone. At least you are contributing to the forums and i quite like some of you mocs even if they are a little lacking in some areas as others have said - but hey we all have to start somewhere and we can't all build like some of the geniuses on here. (i have still not built an moc yet, i like to buy sets and build them as the instructions say, but oneday will start moc-ing). Come back on here and show them you don't deserve the tag by posting some cool stuff and reviews. I think there are some changes going on around here that aren't all for the better (perfect spelling and punctuation orders for example) and are making this a less relaxed place to frequent. I am begining to wonder if eventually we will have to pm the mods with a request for permission to post a bit like putting your hand up to ask a question at school
  12. Holodoc said Even this is not as good news as it first looks. All they are dropping is the duty part of it (about 5% at the moment, i think). We will still have to pay VAT on the cost of the item & shipping which means adding 17.5% here in the uk. it may still be a bit cheaper but not the deal i first thought it was going to be PS. how do you get the name in the quote box like the other posters have done ?
  13. 8635 Mission 6: Mobile Command Center Hooray - after 3 trips into the local town and trips to nearby towns and various phonecalls i finally managed to find a shop with this in stock today !!!
  14. Wow - looks great. Thanks for the review. I thought i may get this set when it came out, now i know i have to get it. Ouch, my poor wallet. So many sets so little cash
  15. Looks like a great set, i may consider making this the first mars mission set i buy. Nice review also. But Personally i don't think you had a place to claim. Somebody else could have also gotten this set and had a proper review ready before yours but felt it was wrong to post because you had posted a placeholder ( ClubNinja in this case). I think placeholders should be banned and if you are not ready to post a full review you should not post anything. Simple really. Either that or what is the policy on here regarding more than one review of a set being posted - then you could have both posted reviews and it wont really matter i guess. Just my 2 cents worth Thanks for the review though.
  16. Many thanks for that Lasse. Only had a quick look at the site so far but it looks really useful. Thanks
  17. Wow that wheel is huge. I love gbc modules and don't see them on here often enough. I want to have a go at building some myself sometime. does anyone know of any site that show you how to actually build some of these so i get some ideas to start with. i have bought about 50 footballs ready but want to follow some instructions for the first time as my building skills are very rusty at the moment.
  18. got the 7899 police boat today that i won on ebay the other day. no special reason i bought it just decided i wanted a boat hull all of a sudden. what i really want is agents truck but can't find it in any shops near me yet ...
  19. Wow that brought back some memories, i remember having one of these as a kid. Would probably have been a xmas pressy i think, wonder what happened to it. i guess it may still be in the family somewhere as my lego got passed down to various relatives as they had kids.
  20. We have a small independent shop down here i go into quite a lot and he told me part of it is TLG's doing. He told me that when new sets come out they get the advanced catalogue to place their orders a long time in advance of the actual release date and they used to be able to order one or two sets at a time. Now he says they can only order in multiples determined by TLG. These are usually 5's or 10's. while this may be cheap enough for him to do with small sets he cannot afford to do this with large sets. also being a small shop he has to consider display space for that amount of sets and even if he can sell that many. i think that may explain why so many independants have stopped carrying lego. Another small shop down our way gets around this because although independant, it is part of the toymaster chain for buying purposes. this means they can share multiples of sets with others in the group. consequently he usually has a very good stock of the latest sets - however independants can't compete price wise with the big chains or ebay which is another problem.
  21. Mine comes up as a lego baby set 2524: My Racing Bugs Could have been worse i guess....
  22. Think it may be hard for Lewis to win from his position on the grid today. Not to worried if he wins really i suppose - he is a very good driver and he's british but i am getting a little fed up with our tv's grand prix coverage turning into the lewis hamilton (and his dad) show. Would like to see Kovi do a bit better to be honest but i think he will struggle too after his penalty which i feel was a little harsh. he didn't really have anywhere to get out of the way and webber still posted a time good enuff to get through to Q3 so wheres the problem. if he had slowed webber so much he missed q3 fair comment but he didn't. Best thing that could happen would be rain to liven things up a bit. Still as long as mr personality - kimi raikkonen or worse still the ever petulant, big headed, sore loser that is alonso don't win i will be a happy man.....
  23. Has to be Mild English Chedder for me, and it has to be cold too - straight from fridge. If its warm or even worse- melted, then i just won't eat it.
  24. Found a link to this in a photography forum i hang out in. did a quick search here to see if it's been posted before and couldn't find it so hope it is new for you regulars. Looks really cool and impressively large. Click Me
  25. At the moment i'm listening to my 3 kids argueing But just above the row they're making i can hear the stereo playing - Satisfied Man by Molly Hatchet
