7775 aquabase invasion arrived this morning. Came from Amazon (uk) - currently got 42% off so had to get one !

Nearly as bad as the uk entry last year. Amusingly according to one newpaper the eurovision people are looking to see if they can ban it as in invalid entry. Quote - One highly placed source said:

Wow , that's kind of a tough choice for me as in reality some of the best movies i have seen are almost some of the worst - i love 'B' movies and made for tv movies. in fact i tend to choose movies by looking in the tv guide and if it has a 4 or 5 star review i generally give it a miss and if it only has 1 star i will probably watch it ! But if i had to make a choice from 'proper films' i guess the best would probably be out of Star wars original trilogy, die hard (all of them), batman begins, shawshank redemption or green mile maybe Worst would possibly be Lotr (all of them), Star wars (the other 3), shaun of the dead and most of the Big films that the reviewers hype up as fantastic.

I saw that same packaging error being sold on ebay last week at a premium price because it was "extremely rare". Personally i wouldn't pay anymore for it than the normal selling price but i'm tight like that - only tend to buy stuff thats at a good saving these days. i just wait for sales etc to try and build up my collection as a returnee ? to lego after many years away.

Sorry to be a pain, but now i have another question then. Did the box artwork change coincide with the colour change or did lego not make it that simple *wacko*

Thanks for the replys guys. Wow, thats one hell of a price difference for a colour change, although i guess if all the track you already have is in one shade of grey it would look bad with the change of colour. Think if i get any track it will be in bley then !! thanks again...

Popped into town today on the way home from work to get my other half a valentines card for next week. Just 'happened' to be in woolies and they had 25% off exo force so picked up 7713 Bridge Walker and White Lightning (cant resist a lego sale *sweet* ). Now added to the pile of sets that need building !

Finally got my box of lego i won on ebay. arrived this morning 22kg of lego to sort through. only had a quick look so far but looks like a really good buy for what i paid for it - lots of great bits. Simonjedi - completely agree about the batmobile instructions ( i got mine 1/2 price in woolies too). i had to sit under the brightest light in our house to make out some of the build stages - terrible !

Just thought i'd introduce myself as a newbie in here (although i've been lurking for a month or so). I have just got back into lego due to helping my sons (aged 6 & 8) with the numerous lego models they have been getting for birthdays etc for the last year or so. I am not really into any one specific theme although i do have more technic than anything else at the moment. I also have some castle stuff, Batman, Starwars etc - anything that catches my eye really. The only thing i don't like is the bionicle stuff (sorry bionicle fans) - to the extent that if the kids have problems building with it my misses helps them because i won't. Looking forward to buying loads of the new 2008 stuff, some great new stuff coming out, especially liking the new technic excavator, the coastguard stuff amd the agents models.
