Siegfried, are you wanting us to post pictures of our builds as we go along or will that give away too many ideas? or are you just wanting to see the finished models nearer to the end of the contest, what i have created now will be taken apart and rebuilt numerous times before i am happy with it as i try different ideas, just thought folks might like to see the progression of ideas, i suppose i could take pictures/video now and present it with my completed entry at the end?

That is an amazingly tight build, I can learn alot from that. -
Here are the pictures of Little Teds adventures (dont have a technic guy) whilst he helped me build the 8110 Unimog and his testing of it afterwards.

Okay I was worried about spamming the forum with too many pictures by posting photos of sets that are from last year but was told its not spam so here goes, This was the first Lego Technic set i purchased, just about a month or so ago and it sparked my interest in Lego Technic. After Buying this one which i built one Saturday night and Sunday morning I then went and bought the 8110 Unimog and the 9397 Logging Truck. I just managed to get Another BNIB Factory sealed Flatbed truck very cheaply, that is going to be sealed in plastic and stored in my loft for many years :-) Well here are the pictures, and if you wonder why is there a picture of an egg and toast soldiers in the middle that is because i was interrupted Mid build by my wife telling me to eat breakfast !

Same story as what Lego UK just gave to me today, Instructions will be available in March & Argos have been very wrong in selling at the end of January 2012. I pointed out that as it was available all over europe now why not have the instructions out to improve sales as people will be able to build the B model and show how good it is? the reply was that she will forward my comments to the relevant people and to wait for March in the meen time lol. I must admit though, the Customer service and politeness of their staff is exempliary.

I just ordered myself a mindstorms nxt2 set, I told myself i would buy it when it came below £200 so I had to buy it when i saw it at £180.99 yesterday, is this a good price or not? it seems okay cause the computer brick and motors come to more than that alone on the uk lego site. And what should i do with the set when i get it, what should i make first to learn how to use the robotics system?

Thanks DLuders, i got my new/secondhand wheels today so have installed them. one thing I noticed was that the older wheels have a spacer inside them so when i put them on the inside it holds them off from catching on the wheel bracket so no more mods need doing other than changing the length of the axels. I did do one other mod and that was to the wheel guards still not sure if it looks better with them or without? please let me know what you guys think. Pictures below. this is it with the doubled up wheels but no mods to wheel guard other side showing how i altered the wheel guard and added 3x 6004888 pieces to hold the light bracket on, this has made the light bracket much more stable than the original mounting. here you can see i have added 2 top bars and T piece to the wheelguards to make it look better? hmm not sure really, i like both on and off! And finally a low down shot looking along the truck so you can see the wheels not sticking out to far

I am also looking for the B model instructions and have yet again been on the phone to Lego Uk about the lack of them, they are going to phone me back later on to let me know if they can find them or not, I have also been having a problem with the large actuator locking in the fully open position so told them about that and they asked for my address to send out a replacement part Well done Lego, great customer service! some pictures of 9397 B model below.

OH man that rules out my creation that i already started after seeing this competition, I was gonna do a 4 wheel drive amphib boat, i spent ages starting to build it already, trying to sort out how the wheels would fold up out of the water! Gahhhhhh! & my other idea for this was a water logging vehicle that also has massive floatation wheels , oh well back to the drawing board. heres the logging swamp buggy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F-ofjAmTrcc

9397 fold up logging trailer
Rodeown replied to Rodeown's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Tim, I should have vaccumed the floor aswell but that wasnt happening, to be honest i was on my own and needed to move the camera around with the truck, so on a tripod would have been detrimental to what i was trying to show Thanks for the advice though, if it is some item stationary or that i dont need to move to much with i will tripod in future! Maybe make a lego technic Tripod -

Thanks Gilby that is a cool idea, would we need something like clutch gear included in the kingpin drive on the trailer because otherwise if the truck turned beyond the trailer steer limit it would snap the kingpin axel maybe? -
