Whoa! Now the sale is gone! Sale was on for only about 12 hours! Back to the same old boring end-of-line items. Very weird. I wonder if this was another "mistake". Well, if it was, I hope they honour the orders they got..... I got in 500$ worth! Very unusual.

Starting today we have an an amazing Lego sale at S@H Canada. Oddly, I don't see the same sale in the US, which usually has the same or better deals. Ferrari Truck Building Bonanza Nearly all the new Star Wars sets Piraka Exo Force Imperial Star Destroyer The new Airplane All the 2005 Town Construction sets Most of the dinosaurs Much more At 25-50% off I've never seen a sale this broad and this good. Last time I saw stuff like this was when they posted the wrong prices, in US$ instead of the Canadian equivalent, but I don't think that's the case here. Load up Canadians!!

Do you mean "Pes"? :-D

It's cool. Whatever people like. I figure if we restrict the choices more, and use currently available sets, then everyone starts with a level playing field to start, and it more reflect creativity. Also, this way it can be an annual event. Each year the current Xpods are used for the annual Eurobricks "Xpod showdown" But whatever people want is OK with me. Heck we can use any 3 sets, any 4 sets. Cheers.

Crazy - I can't get these on S@H until late Feb, all the big stores don't have them in Toronto (Lego capital of the world - judging by the number of EB members from Toronto), and I just found red and blue Xpod6 ( short for 2006 xPod) at this crappy toy store that always totally overcharges for Lego and usually has a lousy selection. :oD The red is great, blue is less exciting. I think that the white and red are best this year. I usually have no use for robot Xpods (previous years' anyway) but this one is very nice looking, and I love the bazillion 1x1 round plates and trans dark blue case. When enough people have these, we should have an an EB contest. Say, pick any two Xpod6 sets (or two of the same one) and see who builds the coolest MOC.

I have a question for the Admins...
gylman replied to Lost Viking's topic in Forum Information and Help
Yes! Do Tell! PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE! You guys have been vaguely hinting at some issue with TLC since I'm been here. I'm dying of curiosity. Do tell! Gyl -
Dude! your stuff is awesome. And funny. I don't think you should hold back from posting your work. There are a few members here who have issues with Bionicle, and fewer still who are rude enough to voice it. But I think 95% of Eurobricks member respect creative construction in any Lego medium. I think some of the most creative stuff comes from Bionicle MOCs because the parts force you out of the box (literally!). Most who "bionicle-bash" haven't tried it, and having built both Bionicle and System, and feeling like I suck at both, I like to see people's stuff in either domain. Frankly, I find System building easier. So post freely. Gyl

Street Bike Pic review
gylman replied to xwingyoda's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Perhaps a few new technic fans will be created as a result of this nice review - thanks! -
Whenever possible I try to store in the original box (bagged in some sort of logical sorting system, with instructions). I have a LOT of steel shelving storage space in a small basement room in my home where I can store the boxes. Very convenient. Castle has 2-3 shelves, Technic about 8 shelves, designers 2, Town 3, Adventurers 1, Bionicle 2, etc etc. If I don't have the box (lots of sets I buy without box on eBay) I bag them together, put them in a carboard box, label it and they go on the steel shelves. However, these ones are not kept with the instructions, but rather I have a separate filing sytem for instructions. I do occasionally go on part-shopping binges, and these are organized in boxes and bins by colour, type, size, shape, etc. Hard to describe but it works well. Technic bits have their own space. So, it's a mix of all of the above.

8466, & 8439 front end loaders
gylman replied to 5150 Lego's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
This is one of the very few technic sets that "do something" (I don't care so much for cars, but forklifts, cranes, trucks, etc, I love) that I don't have. It's really only obtainable through eBay or Bricklink, and the prices are quite excessive, probably because it has an airtank (which is good). Maybe I'll build it out of spare parts and Peeron instructions one of these days. Cheers -

Like Indie said. Rerelease. They did the same with the crane (8431, 8460). -
It's nice Willy. Making ships that look decent is more difficult that it seems, as I have found out before. Good work 'mate.

What I really wish for? Ultimate Collectors Series castle set: 3000 pieces, $200, classic castle style, no burps, no bionicle bits, no useless vehicles or weapons or battering rams or anything. Just a beautiful complex structure and lots of figs. Dream on. What I will likely buy this year? Any big technic set new Mindstorms if it can do something the old Mindstorms can't New designers Xpods Anything with big structures (castle-like or house like), whether it comes from Batman or Avatar or something else. If there are good complex Bionicle sets (not playsets) I would get those as well. Axon and Brutaka look reasonably good, but would really want something double the size.

Well... it doesn't cost that much (about $50 annually, right?). If batman lego becomes huge, say like Starwars, and the potential is there, then this domain would be worth A LOT!! I don't think this is a bad idea at all.

I've searched that page before - It doesn't have the stickers, but it has a lot of other useful ones :oD TheBrickster send me a link to a page that has remakes of the good old classic shields and more, You can find it here [Thanks Brickster *satis* ] KimT Hey! Is there some reasonable way I can get these made into usable stickers?? Does someone provide this service? I am desperate to get stickers for my 5571 Modelteam Black Cat! I would guess you need a colour laser printer and sticker paper, and some fiddling around with the sizes, but I don't have any of the necessary materials. I knowsome guy on eBay sells home made stickers, but he has never sold these ones. Gyl

well, I'm not Gylman, however, I do have this set and I like it a lot, I also did find the boom crashing down quite annoying, so, with some extra pneumatic hosing, I connected the two open ends of the pistions to the switch, so now when I release it, it does not come crashing down, try it out for your self, it works fairly decent. Hey, thanks for the tip chewie! That was in fact what i was talking about doing the same thing. Its good to know that it will work. I'm going to hook them up right now! Yep, that's it. Bizzare that the instructions don'tsay to do that. It doesn't eliminate the problem, but certainly reduces it. Hech, there's extra hose, two open air ports..... what's the reason not to show the connection? The set definitely has $150 worth of parts. It does not have $150 worth of fun. Still, I am glad that Lego is taking technic seriously and I am hopeful that something sexier will come along in the second half of 2006.

Look at that Dragon Fortress from Adventurers - tied for the lead. Go Johnny go!!! It is not <insert that tiresome argument>, it looks great, lots of fun traps and tricks, and a fun build.
-
Oh my. Definitely. Those are definitely supposed to be same length. Now that you are done, or nearly so.... what did you think? I found it a good model, but it seemed to me that for so much money, so many pieces, it shuld have done more. The pneumatic part is almost an afterhtought - if you release the lever the whole boom comes crashing down. It should be some sort of smooth coast. Of course that's fixable, but why would they release the model that way? They would have been better off with a gear for elevating the boom. I can think of 5 technic models that have way less parts, cost less, and are way cooler (855 and 8460, both cranes; 8858 Airtech Claw, the best bar none, 8094 universal and 8455 or 8862 (backhoes) Anyway. Here's hoping 2006 will bring something new. At least Lego seems to have revived the line, there was some talk in 2003 of the "end of technic" after a number of weak years.

Hey BlueandWhite - I agree. 6074 is the best castle for the money Lego ever made. It's note the biggest, but if you look at cost and part count - basically to be fair you have to compare two of these vs one of the biggies. ' See my comments in the "best lego set ever" thread. I voted for a technic set, since I am a technic-head, but my choice for best system product ever was 6074 http://eurobricks.hosting.ipsyn.com/eurofo...&t=3204&hl=6074

The new mini green tractor
gylman replied to chewie's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Cute. i assume it's a 10$ set right? Seems better than the small technics of last year, for sure.
