  1. Just got a brand new Grand Emporium for $133.20 shipped on ebay. Beats the $179 it would have cost me to buy it from S@H. The seller has 2 more for sale if anyone else is interested http://www.ebay.com/itm/RARE-HUGE-LEGO-GRAND-EMPORIUM-10211-CITY-TOWN-SHOP-STORE-/280875408385?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item41657a9c01
  2. Just to update everyone, SHE SAID YES! Also, I added a full tiled brown floor, which you can kinda see in the second photo.
  3. There's a good write up here: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=30285&st=30&p=801298entry801298
  4. Well the time has come to buy my first modular set, thanks to my overabundance of credit card points. I'm stuck between either Pet Shop, or Grand Emporium. Either way it will be added to my City, which consists of mostly creator houses with a classic fire department (6571). What say you?
  5. Just came back from a garage sale with the deal of the year for me. An 50% complete Jabba's Sail Barge, including the instruction book and box, a complete SpongeBob Adventures in Bikini Bottom set, 2 smaller Indiana Jones sets (7624 still in unopened polybags), and what appears to be at least 2 more smaller almost complete Star Wars sets (7669 & 7656) and various SW figures. All of this for a grand total of $10!
  6. I tried the US contact as well. I'm keeping my fingers crossed cause I'm a sucker for classic town.
  7. All the ones by me marked them up as well. Typical TRU behavior.
  8. His link is a little messed up, pretty sure he's talking about these photos:
  9. Same here, anybody with suitcases full of money and sleeveless shirts has to be running something illegal.
  10. I found a very misaligned M:Tron printed tile while sorting through my extra parts today:
  11. Agreed. I'm pretty sure that 5891 Apple Tree House was cheaper than $50, and had over 100 pieces more than the seaside house.
  12. Looks like the beach house will be light blue in color. Looks better in the photo than in the box art.
  13. Thanks guys. I got the set through LEGO mostly because I wanted all new stuff for this build. I'm planning on proposing to my girlfriend in a couple months, and I'll be hiding her ring inside the house. I figured it would be something that we would keep around for a while, so I wanted it to look as nice as possible.
  14. B-RV-13B Hopefully I'm putting this in the right section. The movie UP is my girlfriend's favorite movie. She always wanted a model of Carl's house, but I could never find any aside from custom pieces, and papercraft. I spent a while in LDD coming up with the concept, then ordered it directly from LEGO as a design by me piece. After 3 weeks of anxious waiting around it finally arrived the other day. all 862 pieces The characters. Russell, Carl, and Ellie: The finished product: Ignore the missing piece of roof plate on the back, they missed it when packing it. The front wall is hinged so you can swing open to reveal the interior: Just like in the movie, the whole house can take off of it's foundation: To reveal Carl & Ellie's chairs, fireplace, and their "Paradise Falls" change jar: Finally, compared to the movie house: I had to make a few concessions with colors, but overall i think it came out pretty close.
  15. Perfect. Thank you very much.
  16. Fixed and attached in the first post. Gonna read through that thread and try to correct it tonight. Thanks for the help.
  17. Okay folks, here's a plea for help from the new guy. I ordered a set through Design by me with the printed instructions. Unfortunately a corner section is completely blocked off during the building process, as you can see here. It is the area above and below the hovering dark bley plate, just the two red walls. Normally I would just go into LDD and check how I built it, but when I downloaded the new updated version, it won't run anymore. I tried reinstalling the last version to no avail. Tried updating the graphics card drivers, still a no go. Long story short: Basically what I need is for someone to take my xml file, and just make a screengrab of the one corner for me so I can see the brick layout and get it finished and assembled. Thanks for your help. UpFix.lxf
  18. Found the one remaining Apple Tree House at Target last week for $19.99. Quite the savings from the normal $45 price.
  19. For me it was 4886-1 Building Bonanza. I always loved all the more pedestrian sets, houses, buildings, the regular cars and such. Once I got that, I started getting into the creator houses, and now the modulars.
  20. Looks like they just upgraded with a large amount of new elements, and a lot of new color availability. Including the new wheelbarrow and the printed milk brick from the Friends series: Just wanted to let everyone know.
  21. V-LC-18A As I was separating an organizing all my loose bricks yesterday, I figured I'd try my hand at making another vehicle for my town. I snapped together a quick mail truck (USPS inspired) complete with the surly mailman. The back opens to hold all the mail and the mailman's satchel: I'd be angry if my torso was crooked too: And making his delivery to the apple tree house: I know it's small, a little boring, and half those bricks are more yellow than white, but be gentle with me, it's been about 20 years since my last MOC.
  22. Not sure if I'm allowed to link this, but someone got an overhead shot of the LOTR sets from the London toy fair a couple days ago:

    MOC poll

    I'm a sucker for 4 wide cars.
  24. Hello fellow AFOLs! My name's Ryan, Big Red Goat, or just BRG for short. I've been a long time Lego collector (still have some sets from 1987), and now have gotten the modular bug after building up my creator house collection. I'm also a total gearhead, I have a 1970 Chevelle, a 2010 HHR SS, and a 2004 GTO. The GTO is making almost 500hp, and drifts like a dream. Video of it in action: I recently just ordered the parts to build my dream creation, Carl's house from Disney/Pixar's Up. It's my girlfriend's favorite movie, and I'm planning on using it to hold her engagement ring. Complete with Carl & Ellie's chairs of course: Anyway, looking forward to being able post(finally)and hopefully sell some of my old sets to be able to afford at least Pet Shop, and the forthcoming Town Hall. Glad to see another forum that supports proper grammar too.
