  1. Hello, NovaStar, Thanks for starting this new thread. Very cool of you. I'll be near the till at 1.00pm Sunday, not near the door, but I'm sure we'll find each other. I already know what SilentMode looks like as we've traded before. I've never met Pinky but apparently he has pink hair, so he can't be hard to find! Everyone, Most of the Underground/Overground lines that normally serve nearby stations are not operating Sunday. Please see the TFL site for details. See you all on Sunday Amps
  2. Hello, buddy, Some dot codes are easier to read than others. The elf, for example, is particularly tricky. Some others are a lot more straightforward. Hello, Anyone bound for the Westfield (London) store this weekend, Please be aware that most of the Underground/Overground lines that normally serve nearby stations are not operating Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th Jan. Please see the TFL site for details. I'll be at the Westfield shop on Sunday at 1.00pm regardless. Amps
  3. Yes, I got the Sensei Wu minifig with the battle arena from the LEGO store at the Westfield, London. They didn't have any battle arenas left when I was there last weekend but they did have the Sensei Wu blister pack. They were £9.99 each though they may have gone up since the VAT increase - I don't know. Amps
  4. Pinky, Novastar, S_alvyn and anyone else (SilentMode?), I'll be at the Westfield LEGO store near the till with loads of extra parts this Sunday, 9 Jan 2011 at 1.00pm sharp. I'll have a black and dark grey backpack and wearing a distinctive scarf with black, burgundy and yellow stripes running along its length. Please come over and introduce yourself. Once we're all assembled, we can find a cafe or somewhere in the Westfield centre where we can trade/buy/sell. If you're buying S3 minifigs from the LEGO shop, you might get ones you don't want but I do. So you'll have something to trade. The LEGO shop opens at 12.00pm on Sundays. If you or anyone else can make it, please post below. Thanks, Amps
  5. Does anyone in London want to meet up for trades, not just with me but a whole bunch of us at the same time? I've got loads of brand new parts I'd be willing to part with, far too many too list them all. I've already done trades with SilentMode and another AFOL I bumped into at the Westfield store, but it would be great if lots of us met at the Westfield and went to a nearby pub or cafe and traded. Anyone up for that? If so, Sunday works for me. Please post below if that's of interest. Talking of the Westfield shop, I was there yesterday. They had... Ninjago ...the Sensei Wu pack on the shelf for £9.99. It's more expensive than the other single minifig Ninjago packs but comes with more weapons. I didn't get it but only because I've already got the Sensei Wu minifig that comes with the Battle Arena (853106). Pharaoh's Quest ...the PQ Battle Pack (853176) for £9.99 but not on shelves. You need to ask for it at the counter and they'll get it for you from the stock room. Alternatively, you can call ahead and they'll reserve it for you, tel 020 8749 1059. The staff identify products by the contents, not the product code, so you need to describe it as "the Pharaoh's Quest blister pack with three minifigures and a sarcophagus in the middle with a golden lid". 6. I do have the Jan '11 catalogue and I agree with buddy. It looks like TLG UK is not raising prices in line with the new rate. Amps

  8. LOL! Thank you for that. You've made my day.
  9. In answer to whether these are available from UK Lego stores, see above. The dots are in the same place as in the US. Amps
  10. Have: Series 3: Baseball players Snowboarders Rapper Series 2: Surf boards (just the boards, i.e. without the minifig) Want: Series 3: Elf Hula girl Sumo wrestler Will consider asymmetric trades, especially for elves (e.g. I'd trade 2 minifigs for 1 elf). Will consider most countries but UK preferred. If in central London, I'm happy to do face-to-face trades in a pub, restaurant or cafe. Interested? Please PM me. AmperZand
  11. Hello, Kenneth-DK, Just got back from the Westfield myself, so maybe this response is too late... I estimate they had around 75 minifigs left, split between two boxes. I managed to pick up a couple more I wanted (the mummy and the samurai) but I think they're out of elves. I didn't see the PQ battlepack. You didn't ask but I thought I should mention that they've got the PQ Scarab Attack (7305). They also have the Ninjago Starter Set (2257) and the Battle Arena (853106). Hope that helps, Amps
  12. I just came back from the Westfield, London shop. They had the minifigs series 3 but were selling fast. I managed to get almost all the ones I wanted (elf, samurai, gorilla, sumo, fisherman, mummy) plus a few I didn't. The Westfield shop had all the following: City: 7287, 7498, 7285, 7288, 7279 Ninjago: 2504, 2505, 2518, 2519, 2263, 2259, 2258, 2112, 2113, 2114, 2115, Pharaoh: 7306, 7307, 7326, 7327 Atlantis: 7976, 7978, 7985 Harry Potter: 10217 Creator: 5763, 5766, 5761, 5762 Racers: 8231, 8227, 8221, 8228 Technic: 8067, 8065, 8069, 8066 Star Warts: 7913, 7914, 7915, 7869, 7930, 7931, 7929, 7868 They had some of the Hero Factory sets but I didn't have time to record which ones. Sorry! They're open until 6.00pm today (Christmas eve). Phone: 0208 749 1059 Hope that helps, Amps

  14. Don't know if this has been done yet, but this set would make a perfect stand for the gorilla suit guy. You could have him holding the needle at the top. I realise that the minifig would be completely out of scale but it would be fun anyway. Amps
  15. Lord Embo, Smiths keep them behind the counter because of problems with theft. If you don't look shady and you ask the manager nicely, they will normally let you take a box to one side and pick the ones you want. Helps if you go in when the store is not too busy. Amps
  16. The elf is stronger than the sumo wrestler (5 stars vs 3 stars). Who would have thunk it? Haven't seen any of series 3 in the UK yet. Amps
  17. When Series 2 came out, the nearest Argos to my office informed me there was a maximum of four minifigs per customer. I didn't get any at Argos. Instead, I went round the corner to WH Smith, spent a small fortune, and got all the minis I wanted. I don't know if the Argos policy was limited to that branch or was nationwide. But when Series 3 hits, I'll either go to Smith or to the LEGO shop. Amps
  18. I mostly collect minifigs and accessories for them, so my sorting problems aren't as bad as for some posters in this thread. I currently use all sorts of Tupperware-style boxes, bags, wooden boxes, padded envelopes etc. It's a mess! I recently invested in two 9L Really Useful Boxes with 2 trays in each, like these. I plan on sorting and filling them over Christmas. Where necessary, I'll subdivide the contents of each tray's compartments using small component bags. I get the bags cheap from Lynco in London. I sort by function, e.g, swords, then part, e.g. short sword, then colour, e.g. pearl silver. Amps
  19. Almost certainly it's scanned from a two-sided leaflet. I'm guessing TLG Japan didn't want people to see one side and miss the other, hence the indication of a side A and side B to the leaflet. Simples! Amps
  20. yys4u, If you can't wait to get your hands on an official baseball bat, Minifigforlife/Brickarms do a very nice one. One of my zombies has one. Hope that helps, Amps PS Apologies if this is OT but I like to help out AFOLs in need.
  21. Sure. I'm open to offers via Paypal in GBPs (£s), USDs ($s) or Euros. Postage will be at cost, i.e. whatever Royal Mail charges me. I'll also consider payment by cheque in GBPs (£s) drawn off a UK bank, but only if you're willing to buy most of it. How much do I charge? I'm happy to discuss via PM but as a guide, I'll consider offers that are 10% less than the lowest price for the same item in new condition in the UK on BrickLink. So if it's £1.00 on BL, I'll part with it for £0.90. Interested? PM me. Amps
  22. I have the following to trade: Prince of Persia Darstan head x2 Princess Tamina head x2 Asoka head x2 Merchant head x2 Hatchet Hassassin head x2 Nizam head x1 Indiana Jones Mola Ram head x1 General fleshie parts Mola Ram fleshie arms set (1 left arm with hand & 1 right arm with hand) x1 set Mola Ram flesshie hands x2 pairs PoP fleshie arms sets (1 left arm with hand & 1 right arm with hand) x2 sets PoP fleshie hands x11 pairs Minifig Collectables series 2 Surfboards x3 All parts are straight from factory-sealed boxes/bags and have never been used. They come from a non-smoking, pet-free home. Want I'm after any Kingdoms minifigs, weapons, armour, minifig accessories or barding. I'm especially after the red barding, gold horse helmet (shaffron), pearl light grey horn and any breastplates. All parts must be in brand new condition from a smoke-free environment. I prefer trades within the UK but will consider trades with anyone in Europe (except the Netherlands), the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Israel, Japan, S. Korea and Singapore. Apologies to Dutch AFOLs but too many items sent from the Netherlands haven't arrived (I think the UK postal workers steal them). I'm happy to ship first and wait for it to reach you before you send. I ship first class within the UK and airmail overseas, and protect very well. I'd appreciate reciprocated shipping speeds and protection. Interested? Please PM me. Amps
  23. According to an interview published in today's Metro newspaper, actor Paul Rudd is an AFOL: linkety link. I don't know if there's a dedicated thread about celebrity AFOLs. If there is, I apologise for starting this new thread. Amps
  24. I wouldn't worry too much about that. Even if the Series 3 packets don't have secondary barcodes, I've already figured out a way of identifying which minifig is inside without having to open it, feel it or weigh it. It will take some organising and possibly involve the cooperation of the good AFOLs of these boards, but I strongly suspect it'll work. Amps
  25. Picked up multiples of all the ones I wanted from a couple of WH Smiths in central London yesterday (19 August). The ones I wanted and got were: the hoplite, vampire, witch, pharaoh and surfer. All were identified using barcodes. I went to Argos just before going to Smiths and was told they didn't have them yet. But even when they do get them, there'll be a limit of 4 per person. Amps Oops! Forgot to list the 2 judoka/karateka I picked up at Smiths. Baka desu!
