  1. A new custom figure from me, which turned out pretty good to my taste, so I decided that it deserved a story of its own. Any comments, please? ) Good day, ladies and gentlemen! )
  2. Well, the title explains it all mostly. ) Those who know me better are aware that I'm terribly afraid of clowns and everything that's connected with those freaks. Some time ago I decided to battle my fears and read Stephen King's famous "IT" book and watched the film. And what do you think? IT GOT EVEN WORSE! Any comments, please? ) MORE ON THE NEXT PAGE! Good day, ladies and gentlemen! )
  3. Log time, no update! ) Any comments, please? ) Good day, ladies and gentlemen! )
  4. As promissed a big update! ) Any comments, please? ) Good day, ladies and gentlemen! )
  5. Yes, thank you for your opinion. However we decided to stay focused on TDKR here. Should you have any comments or questions, concernig my point of view on current Batman movie franchise, do PM me. Good day, ladies and gentlemen! )
  6. Well, actually I too am not among those blind haters of KK2, I guess certain personification is good. I mean, yep, the theme went over te top with that, leaving, just several heroes and generic villains in the whole world, but I really wouldn't mind if LEGO introduced some named characters along with generic knights. Or like heroica type heroes: unnamed but still sort of stand-out ones. However, I guess TLC is doing the right thing and stays on the safe side: keeps everything generic and lets the kids create their own heroes. Good day, ladies and gentlemen! )
  7. Good day, Viceroy! Well, thanks for your suggestions. I'll give it a try. Not quite sure about Mr. Zero or Bat-Mite, but catman sounds very probable. I already have anoyjer batch almost ready. So after that one, I'll give Catman a try. Oh, I'm afraid not. I didn't like that joker at all, I didn't like the film much. So I'm afraid there is no place for him in my collection, sorry. Good day, ladies and gentlemen! )
  8. Well, I'm a big fan of HMM and D&D games, so I got a couple of Heroica sets and assembled them to my taste, not following the instruction booklet. My nephew once came to visit me and while I was having tea with his mother created this. Who, I wonder, allowed him to mess with my LEGO? Not bad, eh? Tell me what you think! Good day, ladies and gentlemen! )
  9. In such an outfit, you're most welcome to visit my Iceberg Lounge, Brainbox. Good day, ladies and gentlemen! )
  10. I agree about Catwoman. Let us see. But despite the fact that I still think that Ann can be a very good actress, I still think that she's not really that big to play Catwoman. Good body and moves is not enough to play this character, opr we can return to Berry's Catwoman! Ugh! As for Bane, he reminds me, for some reason of Shredder from TMNT! Good day, ladies and gentlemen! )
  11. Very well said. Actually my thoughts put in a proper form. As I said before, in most films (those who pretend to be good or even so-called "epical") I'm looking for a message, or a phylosopical idea behind the plot, if you wish. If in BB the idea is indeed interesting, somewhat new and multi-layered, while in TDK I had no such feeling. What is actually the point? Even joker's "dog-chase" chaos phylosopy looks just plain stupid, IMO. I mean, in that matter he looks like a typical criminally insane with higher than average IQ and ability to plot. Joker is no easier character to play and no less deep character than Batman. He's supposed to be scary by his warped twisted mind and view on the world. This joker didn't impress me at all. It's not the actor's blame but it's the director who failed to apprehend the scale of the character. How can anyone not love the show and the film? I think the actors did a wonderful job! For me for example, neither Penguin or Riddler have been played better. Yes, they are campy, but the characters were played to the full, as they were seen in 60-s. Though I consider Returns to be the best Batman film so far (closely followed by BB), but neither De Vito Penguin, nor Jim Carrey's Riddler dug that deep in the character as Meredith or Gorshin. De Vito's Penguin is currupted and evil to the last feather and Carrey, well, it's just his usual way of playing, like in The Mask and other films. I never liked him or such humor. To me he was very jokerized (as well as Two-Face). Everything above is IMO. Good day, ladies and gentlemen! )
  12. I certainly think that Kingdoms lives up to Castle expectations. And I can say that I really like the minifigs in the line(can't say that about the sets themselves). But for some reason unknown I can't help but have a feeling that it's kind of a passing-by theme, a weak link between two really big themes. I.e. Castle Fantasy era and something in the future. Perhaps it's wishful thinking, but I am quite sure that soon we'll return to fantasy concept in this or that way: de it a LEGO theme or a Licensed one like LotR. Good day, ladies and gentlemen! )
  13. Happy birthday, Flitwick! )

May the following year be full of new ideas and LEGO to bring those to reality!

  14. Neither do I. Moreover, I didn't quite see any arguing point in your post. Since I agree with mostly all your ideas, so I guess we think alike. "Good day, ladies and gentlemrn!" is a standard form of ending my posts, so don't take it personally. Not in the mocking way. ) Again, no real debate ground is obviously seen here, so I guess it was quite nice to share our views. Returning to the initial topic, I too am waiting for the film to come out, but everything What's leaked about the film looks quite disturbing to me, frankly. So far I do not like either the look of Catwoman (so-called) or Bane. Oh well, what can you expect from a guy who didn't like TDK Joker! *dodging tomatoes* Good day, ladies and gentlemen! )
  15. Yep, as well as the fact that originally Batman used an ordinary car and hated Japs. Why the heck doesn't he do that now?! And hey! Joker was electrocuted by Bob Kane as well! Why the heck is he still running around?! ( , just in case) Batman, during his 70 years history has aquired certain basic rules of behavior, certain traits of character, shared by the majority of the community. In Begins Universe such thing as Lazarus Pit is unlikely to exhist, not to mention that even if it did, Batman knew nothing of it. Good day, ladies and gentlemen! )
  16. To all brave ones! Good day, ladies and gentlemen! )
  17. Indeed so. Actually some Nolan-Batman fans do forget that Batman is a fictional character living in a slightly warped fictional world. If you go realistic, then you should go till the end. Otherwise, Tubmler jumping on rooftops, Batman's voice, etc, etc. just looks ridiculous. Not to mention (oh, the heresy!) that phylosophical message in burton movies looks far stronger for me than in Nolan films. Well, yes. That is quite true. I really hated the fact that in BB Batman (Nolan) have inverted (?) the no-killing idea. "I won't kill you, but I don't have to save you!" No, Batman HAS to save a life, even if it's a life of a monster like the Joker. Well, i sure hope that the reboot will stay closer to comics. Like the later animated movies! Good day, ladies and gentlemen! )
  18. Yes, he did, but his role there was very small, close to a cameo. I hate the voice, I hate this version! He also appears in Superman animated in one episode, but again it's quite brief. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZXdSSicVVJU&feature=related Penguin: Why should I tell you? Superman: A man's life is in danger! Isn't that enough?! Penguin: You're breaking my heart..... Robin: Kick over the desk! As far as I know in comic stories the situation is the same. He remains mostly in-Gotham villain. ) Which is actually good. Good day, ladies and gentlemen! )
  19. Nice one! Keep them up!
  20. Look, who's back! Very nice! The glasses could've been smaller, but it's good as it is as well. Nah, I don't mess with the freaks that orbit the Earth somewhere there. in fact I do not believe in their existense either. Seriously speaking, I can't recall many stories where Penguin and members of Justice League communicated (apart from Batman). Since Penguin nowadays is the owner of Iceberg Lounge, an underground smuggler and informant, working with villains and Batman, so his role has greatly deminished during the years. But at the same time he became a much more interesting character to my taste. I personally strongly doubt that I'll be using any non-Batman (stricktly) characters in my collection. I have never been a fan of Superman or any JL members with superpowers. For me there is only one superhero - Batman. And heroes who are shooting lasers from eyes and throwing bolts of energy, are simply not my thing. Good day, ladies and gentlemen! )
  21. Being a warhammer and LEGO fan myself, as well as a customizer with certain experience, I can tell you that mixing Warhammer multilayer techniques and LEGO is not always a great idea. Though your painting skills are quite good from what I can see, it's better to avoid using colors that do not appear in LEGO, as well as shades and several layers. or even simple drybrush like on your rifle-dwarfs. It looks very unLEGO-ish and in most cases out of place. I'll repeat, it has nothing to do with your skills and level of mastery. You can use your Warhammer painting abilities on small details, but refrain from large parts. Just an advice. Good day, ladies and gentlemen! )
  22. Great review of an uncertain set! I fully share WhiteFang's sentiments here, since on one hand I'd really love to get some of those minifigs, but I'm not really impressed by the vehicles. I like ep.1 actually (looks much more SWish to me than the rest of PT), but the race scenes never impressed me much. oh well, i guess it's BL for the figs, in this case. ) good day, ladies and gentlemen! )
  23. Great review! Thanks a lot, Clone O'Patra! ) Actually that is the only howwarts castle that i do not have in my collection, and i sort of wish I had one. I do understand that it looks plain and basic even for 2001 set. I guess that can be excused by the fact that all HP sets before the third year were suppused to be modular, so it really has more like a doll-house feel to it, rather than a stand-alone-set. Still I agree with you, that kids will find it pretty amusing, while AFOLs won't be mych impressed. Thanks for a great review! Good day, ladies and gentlemen! )
  24. Great review as always, WhiteFang! ) Well, I enjoyed building this set a lot, even though it doesn't really provide any special or very interesting parts. For me, at least. The figs are good, but we really get only one exclusive fig, which is a bit disappointing. Should TLC'd made the set smaller and cheaper (somehow ) this set could've become one of the best in the line. Even sort of battle-pack for pirate fans. But, alas! I never botherede to get a second one, because of its extremely high price for a medium-sized set. Again, thanks for the great review! Good day, ladies and gentlemen! )
  25. My congratulations to the Teachers, tothe students and the whole EB community! Thanks to the RA the quality level of the reviews is one of the best, comparing to cetain other LEGO fan sites. I myself being a student there can say that it's great fun to work on your own reviews, and I can always be sure that all needed help will be given from the Teachers. Thanks, people! Good day, ladies and gentlemen! )
