  1. It'd also be pretty easy to make your own cloth teepee using the plastic version as a template. Of course, it wouldn't have any printing on it, but done right I'm sure it'd look pretty great still.
  2. Try any pre-4.3.6 file from our LDD thread that use the piece, like 70505, 70704 or 21003. Although now that I tried those it moved 3960 and caused whatever piece colliding with it to be removed rather than removing the 3960 piece which it did for me at first. You can quite clearly see that the 3960 moves a specific distance/direction from where it was and it's always the same.
  3. 4489 can’t attach to 4488, 4600, 6157 or 2926 anymore (possibly others too, if there are any). Loading a pre-4.3.6 lxf file that uses 3960 causes it to be displaced (or deleted if there are bricks in the area it gets displaced to). It always repositions in the same distance/direction.. No idea what that's all about.
  4. Look up 11164 (in Extended) and tell me what the hell you think that's for. Galaxy Squad? Anyway, most new pieces seem to be in the 111-119-range.
  5. Looks like another lovely series. One thing that puzzles me though is that the torso printing on the Revolutionary Soldier is so much more simplistic compared to all the other ones. It looks more like something from 2009 than a 2013 CMF. Not that the printing is terrible, but it just looks so much cruder than all the other ones.
  6. Does anyone know if these sets will be released anywhere in Europe in April? So far I've only heard April for U.S./Canada, May for Germany and through whispers as late as June here in Sweden.. Definitely don't want to wait as long as June to get some of these, but importing from the U.S. is a no-no for me.
  7. Hard to tell from such a crappy video, but I thought that Man of Steel spaceship looked pretty interesting. I'm also far more interested in the Malibu Mansion set now that it seems to come with a whole bunch of spare Iron Man "armors" (unless I misunderstood, I didn't really read what was said on that other forum). Definitely think the entire SuperHeroes theme has taken a huge nose dive after last year's sets, but at least not all is as bad as seemed at first.
  8. Agreed. I don't think the sets themselves are that bad or that much lesser than the ones in Kingdoms (though I do think they are a bit more "<insert that tiresome argument>" stylistically), but I really don't care for either side as far as the minifigures go. Blue doesn't feel like a very fitting colour for good or bad guys, and LEGO also managed to screw up the otherwise sure-fire red-black colour combination. Neither is horrible, but I much preferred the red-grey and dark green-black of Kingdoms. I'm actually really tempted to get the King's Castle from this theme and switch out the colours for dark green and turn it into a castle for the dragon knights from Kingdoms.
  9. Can't order it without being VIP, can't become VIP without placing order. Oh LEGO, you are so unbelievably boneheaded.
  10. LEGO designers have access to pieces in colours that aren't available to the rest of us though. I'm pretty sure Mark Stafford has put up MOCs online that he's built at LEGO that used pieces us mere mortals can't get.
  11. Very cool! I love the flags on the bike shop, which I'd like to think is a reference to 6373. I doubt the gas station is a real set considering the vehicles displayed with it is the new stand-alone tank truck and what looks like the yellow car from the 4435 Car and Caravan set. If it was an upcoming set it'd surely include some vehicles unique to it. Also, with the parking garage last year including a little gas station section I can't imagine they'd do something similar to that this soon. I'd love for it to be a real set, but it doesn't really look like it is.
  12. I for one love the next advent calendar. You get a bit of everything, with plenty of variety. As much as I love firefighters, getting three nearly identical ones in the 2012 calendar was pretty boring. This year you'll get a cop, a bandit, an astronaut, a firefighter, a snowman and a real, proper Santa Claus, etc.. There's something in there for everyone. I'm also thrilled it'll include the dalmatian-printed dog since I really want one (but don't want to buy the Fire Station or separately on BL). Why wouldn't it be? The space sets aren't retired, at least not according to my local January-June 2013 catalogue.
  13. Seems like Lone Ranger is the licensed theme LEGO put ALL their effort into this year. Great to see some nice-looking sets after all the horrendous SuperHeroes/Star Wars sets.
  14. Such a lovely set. I do like trains, but I've never owned a LEGO train since they're usually pricey. Might have to get this one though, trains of this era are my absolute favourite.
  15. A beard made of handcuffs! Too brilliant. Great job. I'd love to see more of them, including Bilbo and Gandalf.
  16. Definitely a big fan of the Eglor's Twin Bike set. Not only does it give get me that Eglor minifigure without having to waste money on a speedor set, but the bike itself looks pretty cool and the wheels seem to rotate to turn it into a jet of sort, if you look at the box art. It also means I can pass on the Razcal Glider set since Razcal is included in this set as well. Win-win!
  17. Of course it wasn't. But when Kingdoms was released, there was no other LEGO product/theme that competed with it, so it was an all-inclusive theme that was stylish enough to appeal to older kids (and AFOLs) as well as the younger ones. Now that Castle has the older-skewing LOTR/Hobbit sets to compete with, it makes a lot of sense for LEGO to do a Castle theme with a more childish tone/appeal to it, and that's what we're getting.
  18. I can't imagine the new one topping 7738, just based on the sheer fact that the new one is "only" rescuing a windsurfer. The old one had a whole lot more going on, and a surfboard is a poor replacement for that fantastic life raft. I still think the chopper itself could be great though, and I don't necessarily mind having a large cockpit piece, especially since this new one looks infinitely better (and accurate) than previous ones. Brick-built would've been nicer, of course. Anyway, agree that 2 sounds like a typo. 3 minimum, pilot, diver, surfer. Any less than that wouldn't make sense at all.
  19. The Chi Temple looks like a contender for worst set of the year. Good grief it looks terrible.
  20. Hearing the news of a golden minifigure sure makes me glad I'm not a completist.
  21. Agreed. A few months I can accept, but a full 6 months (at least) is utterly ridiculous.
  22. I just realized that the driver minifigure in 60017 is the exact same one as in 4434. Don't get me wrong, it's a nice-looking combination, but geez, surely they could've picked a different head for the one in 60017.
  23. You're not pitching a set but an idea for a part. CUUSOO is for pitching one-off sets (like a Delorean from Back to the Future), not themes or parts or anything else. Even if you'd have gotten by their rejection, and managed to get 10,000 votes they'd simply turn it down because of that fact. Use CUUSOO for what it's for. As for the actual part, I honestly don't see a single benefit with having torsos like this. Yes, it'd be more "realistic" but a minifigure is not a realistic depiction of a human in any way, really. All this'd do is make a lot of existing parts incompatible, so it'd simply be bad for business for LEGO to even consider it.
  24. You may just as well ask why the Eagles and Ravens have arms.
  25. Such a lovely set. I hope those prices are correct, though I wouldn't be surprised if LEGO jacks them up like they did with the Haunted House. My only complaint really would be that the bottom level floor is bright red instead of the far more appropriate and accurate dark red.
