  1. Guys, I think he means that there are a lack of smileys in recent sets. Take Castle, for example. Instead of using all smileys like they used to, TLG is providing a very diverse selection of heads with different looks, such as hair, eyebrows, beards, etc., etc. Now, while I like the classic smile head, I have pleanty to go around, and you should to, if you collect Lego. They are still in production, but you might just not see as much of them within the new themes, like new Castle, new Pirates, and Indy. But as much as the smile faces are real classics, I absolutely love that Lego isn't going all cheap on us and just giving those. I love how they make new heads every year, and specific ones for each theme that can also be used in other themes for MOCs and such. So, if you are really worried that you will not be able to get the generic smile faces anymore, just check Bricklink or, like Hinckley said, Pick a Brick.
  2. I used Brickset as a reference, so I got most of them. I'll add clicklits to Belville, since I doubt anyone will vote for them anyway. Island Xtreme I'll add, and Ninjas. Arctic goes in with alpha team, I think. Mindstorms fits in with Technic. Factory fits with Creator, and all of the others that you mentioned are too minor. Besides, that takes up all of the question space. Harden up, princess!
  3. Happy Birthday, friend! Get lots of that plastic stuff that you build, and have a great time!
  4. Great work, Batbrick!! Your (and Brainbox's) dedication to Lego Batman is amazing! Anyways, here are my views on this treat: Batbike: A very good attempt. I like the wings covering up the engines in back. However, I don't like how it slants down at the front. By the way, what is the difference between the Batcycle/pod/bike? Harley Quinn Truck Great! I really like how you modified it to fit two figs and the crate. I would just mix up the black and red a bit more though, because it kind of looks like a Two-Face style vehicle. Copter: It's alright. I like how you had an action shot of the propellers spinning. By the way, what's an "updation"? Forgive me if this is what you call "update" in Aus. Two-Face Truck Simple, but very clever. I really like the windshield and cab. Tumbler Amazing! Very good, Wetwired and Batbrick. The shape is captured perfectly. Sled Great! Good use of those Bionicle weapons. ATV Very good, captures the look of an ATV very well. I wonder why Batman needs so many vehicles? Close shave Hilarious!
  5. Speaking of which, are all of the new teachers getting "teacher" titles, like ~VBBN~, Cardinal Brick, jopieK, and you? I'd better not become "Tallheaded Teacher"!
  6. Looks good! The blue one reminds me of the Fairy from Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
  7. Is the third Fabuland fig in this pic: In the bottom right corner, hiding in the rocks?
  8. Mygeeto, because of it's cold weather and how it gives off a feel of loneliness, which is a change from the usual, lively planets. I also like the architecture. And, it was where Ki-Adi Mundi fought and died.
  9. Thanks Adam for adding in that little bit about the prototype. Otherwise, my post would have been next to useless! By the way, using other people in your post is alright, just don't take it to the extreme. I'll change that rule on the first post.
  10. Before I start, I know that there is a topic like this, but I would say that it is not complete, and doesn't have all of the themes, and only a few. Plus, now the poll can have 40 choices per question, unlike before when it was limited to 10 choices. So, what is your favorite Lego theme? There were many in the history of Lego, but which one is best? Choose your favorite in poll, and leave your comment if you like. When you leave a comment, please share which one you like best and why. Also, please let me know if I forgot any themes, and I will add them to the poll. My favorite is Star Wars, because I really liked the movies, and I like collecting and building the models of the ships, scenes, etc. in the movies. I also like Indiana Jones because the movies were great, and the vehicles, scenery, etc. can be used widely for MOCs in various themes.
  11. Ah, thanks. I know that some students already graduated, because I'm one of them!
  12. Ah, I looked it up. hollisbrick was right. It's not a true test, it doesn't work. Says so at the bottom off the page. If you think about it, it's a really logical and obvious answer.
  13. Thanks. His name is Jaws, though, Moonraker is the movie that he is in that I based him off of. Like the Bond that I did is from Goldeneye in particular.
  14. I like the Mongoose better. I think it's faster. Also, which kind of Warthog do you like, the transport or the turret? Thanks for that . I'll give it another try sometime soon.
  15. I saw "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" today. It wasn't one of the best out of the 007 films, but it was alright. Q was hardly in it... and the ending was really sad.
  16. Hello everyone, I've been watching all of the Bond films lately, and I thought some of the characters would be awesome as Lego minifigs, so here they are: James Bond (Goldeneye) 007 License to Kill, spy for MI6. Jaws (Moonraker) Hulking assassin with sharp metal teeth. Max Zorin (A View to a Kill) Owner of Zorin Industries. [The red bar is a stick of dynamite]. Scaramanga (The Man with the Golden Gun) The man with the golden gun. [C3PO lost an arm and a leg on this one ] Palace Guard (Octopussy) The Palace Guard from Octopussy. Towards the end, these guys tried to kill Bond and Octopussy with razor discs attached to strings, so they could drop the disc from above, and pull it up quickly. That's all for now folks, here are some you can look forward to: ...Nah, you guys will just have to wait and see! Also, I dedicate these figs to Batbrick, who has seen all of the 007 movies numerous times, and loves them.
  17. Great work, Jordan! Your creativity with Lego never fails to amaze me. I really like all of those fake animals in the room, the elephant being my favorite. Nice use of the Garand. You sure like that little couch/ chair! The fireplace/ mirror are done very well, it's a shame Lego doesn't come in gold (besides the coins). The ghosts are awesome, it must have taken you a while to position them correctly with the sheet of glass.
  18. Ah, I remember that glorious moment when I beat the League in Silver... good times, good times. I also beat it many times after, using the cloning cheat. I played Myst a few years ago, but it made no sense at all.
  19. Lenny Kravitz- Fly Away It's been one of my favorites since I was really little.
  20. I like a lot of bands, but my favorites are Linkin Park, Papa Roach, and Three Days Grace. I also like Lenny Kravitz.
  21. Wow, the castle is very good! Unfortunately, I don't think the rest of the scenery lives up to the castle. The water is great, though, I can really feel that state of peace (nirvana, if you like) in there.
  22. Very nice. The picnic table is good, and the river is very detailed. I like the fisherman, and the people just walking around outside the castle gates. The tavern and bath were nice touches, although a human in the tub would have been better than the orc, since orcs don't take baths . The forest was cool too, with the travelers. However, I don't like the four guards posted by the gate, it gives a sort of darkness to the whole thing. Like Sandy said, this is a nice change-up from the regular war Castle MOCs.
  23. Apparently, this guy does. But great job, Jordan. I am looking forward to this movie. Perhaps you should add a minifig section on Brickstud? That would really cool!
  24. 6206: TIE Interceptor Number of Pieces: 212 Number of Minifigs: 1 Price: 19.99 USD/ 17.99 EUR/ Theme: Star Wars: Episode VI Year Released: 2006 Brickset Folder Bricklink Catalog Welcome to my ninth review the boards, today's review is the long awaited TIE Interceptor. But does it live up to expectations? Well, let's find out. I believe this is the first and only time TLG made this set. So, let's begin the review. The box The box is standard for it's time, with silver font. The background on the front has some planets and the Death Star II, clarifying that this set is from episode VI. Overview This set comes with the Interceptor model and one fig. The Interceptor has a very sleek, futuristic design, with four wings and a ball-shaped cockpit. The TIE Interceptor is a stealthy, speedy vehicle in the Imperial fleet. It is used for scouting missions, and not meant for attacking due to it's weak structure and low arsenal. Front This version of the TIE group is very attractive and cool-looking. It has an aerodynamic shape, giving it looks and speed. While not accurate to the movie's grey and black colored TIEs, the blue in place of the grey is just fine, and does not alter the "coolness" of the design. Thankfully, there are no stickers in this set. Cockpit Here you can see the ball-shaped cockpit. Be very, very careful when opening it; it's very flimsy and breaks off almost every time. Fortunately, both the windshield and the dish on top are printed, and not stickers. Please don't mind the dust. Cockpit Interior This is the inside of the cockpit. It is very roomy, airtight, and one of the few cockpits in SW sets that are this good. It makes up for lack of detail by giving the pilot plenty of room, so you should have no trouble there. It is also very smooth in the back and where the windshield folds down. This is by far the best SW cockpit I have ever seen done by TLG, good job! The only bad thing is the two tan bricks that clash with the rest of the color. Wing attachment This is how the wings are attached to the cockpit on each side. Unfortunately, the design on this part is not so good, and sometimes the wings break off. Plus, this part is very blocky, and there is a big <insert that tiresome argument> piece on the base of the wings. Wings Here is what each wing looks like. There are three parts on each wing: a middle and two fins. The wings are very aerodynamic, with a diamond-like design. Note the Imperial insignias and the blue tiles lining the wings. Wing attachments cont'd Here, again, you see how the middle wing part is attached to the base (<insert that tiresome argument> piece), and the fins attached to the base by hinges. The hinges allow the fins to fold in and out a bit, but again, this is very fragile, and the fins often break off. Gun placements This is an example of four guns on the ship, one on the tip of each fin. The guns consist of a tile with a Tenic tunnel hole on the bottom attached to a Technic pin, which is attached to a black bar. A good design altogether. Back Here you see the rear of the cockpit. You can see why the opening mechanism is so flimsy: the whole top and front is connected to the body only by a weak hinge system, as seen in the picture. Also note the small, trans-blue dish and the four trans-red studs. Minifigure Finally, here is the single figure that comes in this set, a TIE Pilot. It is an all black figure, with a life support system decal on the front and a helmet with silver Imperial insignias. An overall good minifig, with a different helmet mold than the Stormtrooper or Shadowtrooper. Well, I suppose that's about all, let's get to the FINAL VERDICT: Build: 6/10, a little difficult due the flimsiness of the ship, but should only take the average builder no more than 30 minutes. Playability: 7/10, it's fun to fly around ( ), but has no real functions. Swooshability: 7/10, you can swoosh it around fairly well, just be careful not to accidentally break it. Minifigs: 8/10, a good fig, although having only one leaves something more to be desired. Design: 4/10, very, very flimsy with the wings, windshield, and fins, but good for display. Price: 7/10: I think it was actually 30 USD when I got it, but I'm not sure... Overall Score: 6.5, an average set. Very delicate, so much that you can hardly pick it up, but good for display. The minifig is okay, and having no stickers is good. I would recommend this to a hardcore OT fan. That wraps it all up, please vote your opinion on this set in the poll, and I'll see you next review!
