Heartlake Heartbreak - Day One: Heart to Heart
JimBee replied to Darkdragon's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Ahem, okay, I am here. Turns out my CD player is actually a flux capacitor, so I had to re-clean up all of the horse shit. I feel like I've picked up shit in a past life, maybe that was camel shit. Yes, I did listen to what everyone has to say, so now I'm going to Vote: Trisha (Trumpetking) Valid points have been brought up by both Fred and the talking hedgehog, as well as some others. I think that our best option here today is to lynch all liars. Trisha may be a noob, but it could have also been a scum slip. Whatever it is, she's not making any sense, and presents a risk if we keep her alive. Scum or dumb is right. Also, in case it is helpful at all, I am aligned with the town. Other than that, I don't have much else to say. I do have my suspicions about those who have been rather unhelpful or quick to defend or agree with someone. No sense in keeping those names a secret, among those are Patty, Penny, Billie, Zara, Mike, and Jane. It's still the first day and there's hardly anything to go off of, but those are the people who I have observed to be the most suspicious so far, apart from Trisha. -

Heroica RPG - Quest #50: 108 Stars of Destiny

"Because we may need those essences later, more desperately than now... Believe me, I do not feel good about leaving the person we must protect behind, either, but we have defeated all enemies on this floor besides those locked behind the iron gate. If any of the remaining Stars were to try to get to him, they would have to go through us first..." Was that all there was to it? He was trying to gain a good reputation with the Ji Pei, but was he going to be so quick to leave one of the family members behind? Hybros thought for a moment, then shrugged. -
Yeah, maybe we'll have enough time to get back. We'll see though, we still have a long ways to go in the Pagoda. I am loving this quest though, so I won't feel as bad if I miss the Wren finale. A party with all the Zoot's Plaything wielders would be cool. Agreed with the above, Berserkers yes, MK no. And here I am thinking that the Berserker needs upgrading when I thought it was completely OP when the ACs were first announced. I'm wanting to go Chi Monk as well, but only for RP reasons. As someone who can already shovel in the gold and is permanently hastened and lucky, the CM's shield skill is not that useful (although regaining full ether is a one-of-a-kind skill). I would also be giving up a good amount of strength and skill, not being able to use weapons and becoming a mage-like class from rogue then Assassin. I do think the class would be pretty good for someone that has already been focused on mage skills and items, though. I also really like the Bombardier class, because it offers a lot of opportunity for strategy. And unlike mage-like classes, it doesn't use ether, plus all attacks have the potential to have AoE elemental, and Craft Bomb allows unlimited bombs. I can imagine someone like Erdathcath doing a lot of damage in that class.

"Well done, eheh... regrettably, I say that we should save our Phoenix Essences for later. I am sure that Jun will be safe here for now with no more enemies on this floor, and if we need him we can come back for him later." With that, Hybros retrieves his throwing weapons, yanking the throwing knife from the Iron Whistle's forehead and wiping the blood on her clothes. "Also, someone should inspect that statue before we move on." With his second turn, Hybros heads up the stairs. -

Really awesome minifigs, and interesting fusion of genres here. I love the middle one, who I can only assume is the robotized Butch Cassidy; great use of the Iron Man mask. Keep up the good work. -
Nice MOCs! I love the way you created the water in the first one, and there are some nice subtle details all around.

Heroica RPG - Expert Job Class Discussion
JimBee replied to LEGOman273's topic in The Heroica Archive
Looks like a cool class. I'm just wondering which one you start as at the beginning of a quest/once you become a Chaos Defender? -
Couldn't agree more, this is something that I've noticed as well. It will be interesting to see if the Lone Ranger film will spark any new interest in the genre (as Pirates of the Caribbean did for pirates... sort of). The same goes for Lego sets: if there's a lot of interest in the LR sets then maybe we'll see more Western themes in the future.

I'll admit that Haldor's sudden drastic change since his advance to Shaman was pretty unexpected. I really liked Haldor as a character, but then he got really confusing. I think you're doing a great job in Quest 49, but there was a long period where I was kind of lost on where he was at.

Then would a Sorcerer's shield skill stun enemies the current or following round?

Good stuff here. Hm, I guess I fall into that first category, where Hybros is somewhat similar to me. Quiet, sticks to himself, independent, sometimes apathetic. Obviously I'm not an imp with amnesia, though. His actions and words come pretty easily to me, and he has a few main goals in mind. His main flaws, which are sometimes hard to represent because of needing to be fair in this game, are selfishness and apathy. Although, with the help of others', I guess he's moved away from that as the game has progressed. I honestly had no big plans for Hybros when I first created him. As I've said before, he was originally just a fig I threw together once and happened to have handy when Heroica RPG was introduced. I knew I wanted a quiet, mysterious Rogue, but the first actual roleplaying I did came during Quest 7. I would say Hybros' experiences with Heroica shape most of his character, including the plots about his past and his involvement with the Ji Pei, and other heroes. Advice I have for players such as PsyKater is that, yeah, take it slow. You may have thought up a backstory for your character already, but don't rush the telling of it. That might fall flat to begin with, but also expect your character to grow over time and allow flexibility. You might have changed your mind by your third quest what you want your character to be. I haven't done so, but rerolling would be a real chore, I think. To have spent well over a year developing Hybros, and then deciding I want something new would take a lot of work until I was satisfied. Sure it's good to try new things, but it's also important to give it sometime and allow your character to change, rather than starting over again.

We will definitely have to step up our game after that one... Chances are, though, that GB will still get in the playoffs. Falcons will obviously get first seed, and although we aren't division leaders (damn Bears ), we're still better than most of the NFC. Right now I think we're 4th or 5th, so unless the Cowboys or Redskins catch up... (which they might, awesome game this Thanksgiving).

To my fellow questees on Quest 50, if at any time you feel you need/want some of the loot I have immediately, feel free to ask. I just didn't think it was a good time to trade items with our consumables on a time limit, especially considering all of the weapons and such so far aren't useful at this exact time. I wonder if we can just go through and kill most of the enemies, then come back and look for loot in the rooms...
