That is correct and right now the biggest problem. -
ETF Truck steering
BobBongo1895 replied to BobBongo1895's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Yeah, this link is working. :-) I compared it to the ETF version, but I think the 8421 version is not very simular. Ok it is a small steering radius, but not so extreme. I used something like this in this crane -
ETF Truck steering

Hmmm it´s not possible to download the instructions at the Lego page. The steering looks simular at the picture, but what about suspension and the 10° oscillating? -

Thank you, sometimes I´m so stupid. I saw the topic at technicbricks and don`t read it. -
8069 - Backhoe Loader
BobBongo1895 replied to PlaneCrazy's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Yesterday, I bought 2 of them. It´s a nice set with a very good amount of pieces. I don´t want to test it in extreme, but got the linear actuators a slip clutch like the big ones? -
Question about 8053 set

Ähmm, don´t you mean 8421? -

Mobile Crane: Lattice Boom

Hmm, I thought the radius would be bigger. In my opinion its a good relation to the length of the truck. -
Mobile Crane: Lattice Boom
BobBongo1895 replied to Pauger's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Wow, this looks huge. How big is the radius if you are driving a circle? Great work! -
Hey Tim, you are right. There were a lot of backslides. For example, I got several exploding trains due to centrifugal forces. I got selfdestructing tracks due to high friction. The loop should be a real loop as Clothoid, it was to huge, the lift had to be min. 1m (3 feet) higher. The NXT servos destruct the structure, because the train stucks on track and the servo still moving. And so on and so on and so on......... I´m a bit proud about the status right now, but I don´t want to imagine what will happen with the full train at the top of the loop. Stay tuned for more desasters.

Revisiting old topics (Bumping)

Ok, thanks for your explanations. Don´t panic, I´m not the one who needs a huge posting count for my ego. It was just a question how to react here in the right way. I will follow the guidelines. Thank you both. -

Hey ho, just a simple question. Is it allowed, to comment threads that are older than 2 or 3 years, especially if there is no reaction since several month or years. I know boards where this is not really allowed. I don´t want to catch a newbie trap. -
Excellent, amazing, perfect or to say it in german "Ich bin baff". Please head on with it, one of the best diorama I ever saw.

Ok, It´s time to show a current project. The "Inverted Shuttle Coaster" Features: - complete NXT controlled - 1x Servo for Lifthill 1 - 1x Servo for Lifthill 2 (still missing) - 1x Servo for pullback system for thze station - 1x Touch sensor for Lifthill 1 - 1x Ultra sensor for Lifthill 2 (still missing) Explanation of the functions right now: - Chaindog is coming down the lifthill 1 - Chaindog connects with a magnet to the train - Train is going up lifthill 1 until the touch sensor stops the servo - The train is released mechanical by an axle, which cuts the connection between the magnet and the train - Train is running down the track, with screaming minifigs ;-) - In the station the train is being pulled back by a washer connecting to the train magnet To Do: - Building Lifthill 2, with servo and sensor - Extension of the train to 6-7 rows, depending on the behavior in the loop - Possible Extension of lifthill 1, to get more speed - The Logo need more space to the track rails This is a long time WIP project, please except no fast success. Ok, that´s it for the moment. A Video i still uploading to YT, I will post the link when it´s ready. It is HD content, it should be ready in the next 2 hours. I hope this is an interesting project. Feel free to ask anything. regards Klaus :-) As told in my personal introduction, my english could be better, so please be considerate.

Oha, what is this? I never saw a IR Controller like the shown one in picture number 3. Great Solution, reminds me to carrera. -
Lego Technic Strength
BobBongo1895 replied to tl8's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
This is interesting. It reminds me to the test processes of trussing, which we use in my job. That the forces are going up to 0,5 KN is really impressive for a piece of plastic. Head on with this kind of testing. -
As a big fan of Fulci, Romero,......two big thumbs up!

Haha, this is really cute. Damn good job!
