Ups, I thought it is called flatbed. Yes the gooseneck is detachable. -
Hey ho together, After pimping my new 8258 to RC and improvements by Han, I decided that there is something missing. A real flatbed trailer. I will post details in the afternoon, after minor design changes. Here is the appetizer for you. :-) Edit: Thanks to efferman, I changed the title of the pic. ;-)

European Tow Truck

It looks really good, only one little thing as critic. Try to cover the B-pack, it disturb the look a bit. -
Hard to say, but this is a failed project right now. What happend? I extended the lifthill up to 1m (3 feet) more, but the train is still reaching the half height of the loop. To get the train through the loop, there will be only two solutions. 1. Extend the hill to an unrealistic height, compared to the loop. 2. Change the wheel assembly to none Lego, for example ball bearings. Both of this solutions are not in my sense, because in this cases I have to glue the train assembley to avoid centrifugal damage. So, I decided the hard step and stop this project. Sorry for this, but it´s a better to stop a project, than to try the impossible. But I don´t really worry, there are a lot of other crazy things in my brain and for sure some other kind of coaster ideas. And the biggest advantage, there is big bunch of pieces back in my stock.

Hey Simon, here as promised some pictures without the wheels. I would suggest to turn the two black L-beams 180° and change the small 7L beams left and right to large ones, it will be stronger. Hope it will help you. -
I can only talk for germany. Im my opinion TrU is killing a lot of the small toyshops during the last years. They swamped the german market massive with low prices. But now, there is not real opposition anymore. They got the advantage of being a kind of monopolist at the toy sector. The only enemy they have to fear is the internet. My 2 cents to this topic and I´m really missing some of the small shops.

I love trial trucks and your truck is looking very cool. The way of steering is a bit confusion, but if it´s working, why not. -

Hey Simon, I never did instructions before. But I´m able to shoot more fotos if you need more details. -
Hey Dluders, you´re right, the bracings are still missing and the loop needs more support structure. In my job I´m working a lot with Prolyte trusses, so I know the importance of bracings very good. The triangle will be my friend forever. Subject to the hill, as I told in the thread, it have to be min. 1-2 feet higher. Nor sure, but I hope that will be enough.

Today I recieved the missing wheels and the hinges. Progress and fall-back for today: - the original train magnet is pulling 5 rows, with 4 minifigs each row, that´s it. - the train is still running smooth after lubricating the wheels with WD40 - Now I can really imagine how high the lifthill have to be, I think I have to add 1-2 feet. Next steps: - Getting the right colors for the train and maybe reducing the weight to add another row. - Starting an additional support structure for hill number 1. I will need much more black technic beams. Stay tuned and have fun.

Hey Tim, there are no real plans for such a moc, maybe someday. Another big project will be too much for me right now. I was just impressed by the machine and want to test the wheel assembly. But it tingles in my fingers a bit.
