  1. I would disagree. there track is just as un-scale as our's hence why there are different types of track in n and oo / ho gauge, The problem is the height of the rail, its too tall, also there wheels are too wide apart or something as well, some use lower profile track but the stuff you can buy is all wrong untill you get the larger scale stuff. So most n, ho, oo is out of scale its only small but its still wrong and while ours is obvious there's is not, so unless there making there own narrower lower track from scratch which is very hard and time consuming especially for the points, there's is not to scale. However some do this and its amazing, but very few.
  2. I didnt vote for the obvious one, that will no doubt win i went for Wondermonkey, great pic and scene, well done to all
  3. Being newly re-interested in lego and getting my first ever lego trains, owning the 9v, rc and power funtions, I can only say, we have the best of all worlds. There is still plenty off 9v stuff on brick link / ebay at reasonable prices, I saw a mostly complete 9v set sell tonight including postage for £51.00, I lost by £1 (but to stick pf in a train costs this much) I think we forget that ebay does have bargains and tho its used it's not bad really, tlc could do better they promised more track choices with plastic track and have stopped making the only new piece of the double switch so they have let us down, flexible track has only limited use for most. with the internet providing inspiration and availability of new and old parts we have it pretty good, but tlc need to do something great next or it might go a bit pear shaped, there are a lot of cheap building blocks out there and lego need to watch there prices, I mean work out a maersk, pf set with light's and lipo battery, charger, and track!!!!!!! thats one expensive train set. so is it a golden age, i suppose it depends what you want from your trains for me it seams good, just need more money....
  4. I will be going.... But which day of the lego show will be best, will all the displays be there saturday to monday or will some arrive half way thru and some go home on Sunday with the makers? (Ive been at car shows and it always changes each day and even thru out a day as people come and go). Will there be planed activities or giveaways, award giving to moc's. special bricks on 1st come 1st served, on any day's. a lot of events are better on a sunday but sunday is the worst day for me, tho may still go, also will there be variations if I do get a weekend pass, to make it worth going sunday afternoon for a bit, will be going for at least one day as only 45mins from my house, Also is there anything we can do, i havent got time to build anything really, but have lots of lego !!!!

  9. Hello all, got some things in the post today WooHoo nib 9v train motor and some fabuland mini figs etc and some other bits but what is this, it looks like lego and feels like lego quality, but no lego markings the feet are like life on mars/droid feet but have not seen one before there's some markings copyright and a few numbers, checked bricklink nothing there to my knowledge, anyone know it looks like a demon devil because of the horns but is a strange green, thanks in advance https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-oyiDjnV_zII/TyQWKOWQsdI/AAAAAAAABmY/G6MWZySRLPI/s1024/DSC_0146.JPG https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-IskAGI2HfnY/TyQWKe-nIqI/AAAAAAAABmc/SaRxX0ReZsc/s1024/DSC_0145.JPG https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-AurBTob-Xj4/TyQWKhUBuTI/AAAAAAAABms/OjWJrxDUrqU/s1024/DSC_0144.JPG
  10. Most of what I could add to this topic has being said. It's a great topic, by the way. My oppinion for what it's worth is this: Lego sell lego model's, yes its a model of a train, the train guys will laugh at us, (Trust me my step dad featured on the front cover of HORNBY magazine with a 10 page spread of his layout, here in the uk and has won a few national competions) but they should include us in shows whenever possible. Maybe we should be helping ourselves, yes its great to see some of the massive layouts that large groups can create at events but could we maybe on our own or with just a small number do some local shows maybe just model a small yard with a few trains shunting freight? or a small scenic layout with a tunnel at each end that loops around the back where we dont have to model scenery with a few facade buildings it woudlnt use up too man bricks or too much time ????
