  1. I like this idea. Take Alien Conquest to the next level; less about slimy green aliens and more about big, city destroying space robots. Some of the robot minis from the mystery packs have been really cool, and larger versions with 50's looking building kits like the movie theater from City Plan would be killer.
  2. I was at Legoland Theme park in Carlsbad, CA this weekend. The free gift at the gift shop for spending X amount of dollars was a Ninjago minifigure magnet. It was amazing to see how hard they are pushing the line. A live stage show, tons of "dress up gear" and foam swords, etc... But still, most kids I could see didn't want any part of the theme. They were more interested in the cooler Lego stuff. Even the Lego website has just about all the Ninjago stuff at extremely reduced rates.
  3. I just picked up a second HQ and started using it to modify and expand my existing one. No need for a second helicopter pad, you know?
  4. I just don't like it. It is always exciting when Lego debuts a new theme...I just consider this one to be an absolute waste. Lowest common denominator kind of kid stuff.
  5. Lame and <insert that tiresome argument>...perfect way to describe Ninjago.
  6. Like so much of Ninjago, it is just so lame to do this.
  7. I think "junk" is another good word for Ninjago. They are literally giving away Ninjago stuff for FREE on the official Lego site. Even they want to be rid of such pure junk.
  8. I will grant you that some of the unique minis are cool, but the theme overall is very lame. I agree that the vehicles are weak and silly. The concept of "booster packs" is crazy and foolish; a raw way to scam a couple of extra bucks for nothing parts and pieces.
  9. Ninjago is just a really bad theme.
  10. Maybe you guys are right. I always felt something was missing from my Lego experience. I guess it was battle cards and other senseless crap.
  11. Yep. It's a pretty dumb theme.
  12. No. I just really find the theme offensive. They keep pumping out that garbage and let stronger themes go by the wayside.
  13. Yellow skin forever!
  14. Ninjago is the stupidest theme in the history of Lego. I would like to pretend it doesn't exist, but that is hard for a couple of reasons. 1.) Lego shoves it down my throat. All the new catalogs, etc... feature this lame theme on the cover. 2.) Walk down the Lego aisle at any store and this is all you'll see left. Why? Because no self-respecting AFOL or kid with any sense wants this junk. It is like they took all the stupidest parts of their worst past themes and hobbled them together to create something more stupid than stupid. These lame and uninspired sets, the entire "spinning ninja concept, are also a rip-off of Tomy/Parker Brothers' SPINJA toys of the late 1980's. We're ninjas! We spin! We're stupid! Please, Lego, back to the drawing board. You discontinue Kingdoms but continue with this waste?
  15. The comparison to City is a little unfair only because City is, by far, the broadest theme and gets so many more sets per year/wave than any other theme. If they were cranking out DINO themed sets at the rate they do City stuff, I wouldn't be complaining at all. But, when you're dealing with a complete series consisting of only seven (7) kits and five (5) of them are vehicles, leaving you with only the HQ and Tower Takedown (which is very cool, but quite small), I can't help but want more. Maybe it is just me, but the very nature of the theme seems to scream "facilities" not vehicles. Honestly, how many yellow jeeps of varying sizes do we need? I get that part of theme is wrangling these big lizards...now, give us more places to take them back too once wrangled!
  16. PURIST! No bastard parts used here.
  17. I've been collecting Castle/Kingdoms since 1986...they've always survived somehow. There have been periods of time where they disappeared or got downright silly (yes, I'm talking to you Knights Kingdom II 2004-2006), but they were never retired for good. If Castle/Kingdoms survived Potter, they sure as hell will survive Lord of the Rings. In a perfect world, they would run simultaneously, because as a builder, it would be fantastic to have those kinds of sets and bricks available at once. As fans, let's not let Lego Castle die...and let's not let another license kill off, or replace a classic theme like Pirates of Caribbean did.
  18. I am loving this new DINO theme. Just picked up a second HQ last night; can't wait to tweak the design and add it on to the one I already have. My only gripe with the DINO theme is that there are too many large vehicles and not enough sets that are physical locations. I would much prefer a second base or station as opposed to a helicopter chasing a T-Rex. And why not a facility to accompany the triceratops instead of a big, goofy jeep? Please Lego, keep the theme alive, but add more sets that are places versus vehicles.
