The Future of Ninjago
LegoBrickSteve replied to ReZourceman's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Oh, snap! This ish just got real! -
Man...this conversation really makes me sad that they have (for now) retired the kingdoms/castle theme. It was always my favorite.

LEGO Superheroes 2012 Rumours & Discussion

RED SKULL! Man, I can't wait. For him and for my sweet Bucky Barnes. -
I loved the City of Atlantis set for that sunken style, but the rest of the submarines and such were boring. If they concentrated more on the ancient city stuff, this would be great. Oh, heck yes! Hee-haww and touch my grand-pa!

Monster Fighters 2012

I like the new wolfman, but not as much as the CMS. The headpiece is kind of exaggerated, and I'm not sold on the "hand-held" claws either, but I'll need to see it in person first. -
Me too! An upgraded Wolfpack set or two wouldn't hurt either.

It is going to be Red Skull. While he was the villain of First Avenger. I suspect a "cameo" of sorts in the Avengers film. Loki seems to be up to all kinds of manipulation, so it isn't at all inconceivable that he might use trickery to make Cap believe he is seeing Skull...for just enough screen time to justify the release of this set. We're getting the Red Skull mini. -

The latest wave includes a blue/gray variant Batman costume. I don't see how that could be linked to the new movies at all. Lego Batman is its own spin on the franchise and does its own thing with it, taking pieces and parts from here and there to craft their own "story" and unique sets. You like Bucky too? -

The Dark Knight is a moniker synonymous with the Batman character. Simply calling a Batman related Lego set The Dark Knight does not indelibly link it to the film. It would be no different than if a particular Superman inspired set was called, "The Man of Steel." -

They incorporated the tumbler design, that now thanks to the Nolan films is part of the broader Batman mythos, but I still don't think that qualifies the set as a Dark Knight kit. The Joker is all different, the henchman, the vehicle...nothing else about it really relates to the film. That is like saying the Batwing Battle over Gotham City set is directly linked to Burton's original Batman film based on the inclusion of the Batwing. -
There are some real maniacs out there on eBay!

Just because the movie is advertised on packaging doesn't link the sets to the film. Nothing from the Lego stuff really looks like anything in Nolan's films. -

No way. Too bleak for Lego. If the movie popularizes characters like Bane and Catwoman for the time-being, I can see the inclusion of the characters in more sets, but nothing directly linking the sets to the actual film. Like Batman the Animated Series became its own beast, so has Lego Batman; with their own approach to the look of the characters, etc... -
The Future of Ninjago
LegoBrickSteve replied to ReZourceman's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
This is a wildly complicated issue with smart and good people on both sides of the argument. It seems like a line has been drawn where some people feel like Ninjago isn't a super great theme and some other people think it is super great. It gets confusing. The point is, it is awesome that we have a forum like this to enjoy the lively debate. That is my whole point. To summarize my point, the issue of Ninjago is complicated and complex with a little bit mysterious to it too. -

I think it is great how many people also want to see a Bucky Barnes minifig. His torso would be magnificent, and he might even come with some sort of cute little hat, or cap! Hope he is the mystery mini with Captain America! -
This is really sharp! Do more like it. I want to keep looking at your work.

What are you going to do with Daredevil? He can't even see! We need the Bucky Express, a red, white and blue super hero train! Also, Hulk should come with a little Rick Jones minifigure for sidekick and buddy! -
Ideas for New Action Themes

Amusement park stuff. Like Roller Coaster Tycoon meets Lego...build your own rides; sets and extra track/pieces for customizing your lay-outs. Fun and good stuff like that. Fun and good. -

This man raises some good arguments and points and things to think about and debate over and let mull over in our minds. However, I think some people may be critical of his view point and possibly mean about the thing and the statements. -
I just sold an extra Wonder Woman mini on eBay for $46!! Incredible!

The people really want a Bucky Barnes minifig. If Lego is smart, Bucky will get his own set; possibly a sharp-shooter's tower or an acrobat's attack! -
