Picked up and built the Ecto-1 today - really nice little build, which really whet my appetite for the Firehouse. Dimensions Venkman on Friday, then Firehouse next time it's double VIP points. Loving that Ghostbusters is a theme now.

Should I prioritise picking up Ecto-1 before I buy the Firehouse?

This set? The most fun I've ever had building a Lego set in my life. I need to pick up more big sets like this soon.

Really? That's interesting, I'd heard a lot of good things about the DO. To be honest, the Pet Shop is the most lukewarm release for me, with all the others looking beautiful in their official pics, the Pet Shop doesn't have the same wow factor, but I suppose thats somewhat intentional to make it versatile.

Went to the Lego store yesterday evening, and they were out of Pet Shop, with staff unsure when it would be coming back in. I picked up Brick Bank, cause I wanted something to build on my days off, going to order Pet Shop with my next paycheque. Thanks for the advice, it's cool hearing what everyone thinks - I was planning on getting them in this order; Brick Bank, Pet Shop, Detective Office, Parisian Restaurant, Palace Cinema - would that make sense, or are there certain ones I should pick up first?

And that's why I've taken the money I had put aside for the Batcave and used it to get the Brick Bank, and then maybe another modular next month. It's a real shame, and I'll probably brick link a couple of the figures, but I just can't justify the cost for what I get in return.

Picked this up - my first Creator set in years - and thoroughly enjoyed everything about it, from the build to the finished model. Will definitely be coming back for more from Creator.

Would this be a good set for someone new to Modulars to start with??

I'm really struggling to make myself like this set, and feel the money would be better spent kick-starting my modular collection.

So I'm new to non-licenced Lego, having not had an unliscenced kit since before my Dark Ages, and now I want to get one of the modular sets as a treat to myself. The question is, which is the best one to start with? I don't have a particular design preference, just want to get one that will look good on a shelf! Any advice would be appreciated

I'll be very interested to hear how long the build time is for this set. For this price, I like a few evenings worth of work. From the pictures, that isn't what I'm going to get.

Having let the overwhelmingly positive glow of the set wear off, I've settled on a conclusion with it. The box art is gorgeous, and feels like a combination of classic and modern - really eye-catching. Once constructed, the model looks overall, pretty good, but definitely more like 3 or 4 smaller sets than 1 huge one. The Helipad is nice enough, with nicely structured rock formations, if a little frustrating thanks to those damned stickers, but not that much else to talk about with it here. The Bat-Computer is cool, with some good building techniques used by the look of it - perhaps techniques that could be applied to a larger-scale TARDIS MOC judging by the shape... The vehicles are all good quality, especially the Batmobile. Definitely excited for those. The cave wall looks underwhelming in the photos, but I'm sure it won't be that bad on a shelf, and the attached office area is gorgeously detailed. The Wayne Manor exterior is very nice indeed, with SNOT(?) used in a great way. And, of course, the minifigure selection is utterly stunning. Whilst I'm not as certain on buying this immediately, I will still definitely consider it - even at the overly high price point. At that price I want something really chunky, with a lengthy build time, and I'm not convinced that this will provide that. Is this set getting an early release for VIPs?

Brilliant news - here's hoping they're minifigs; it'll give a chance to collect some more obscure characters! And here's also hoping they don't look out of place next to regular figures, like Clone Wars did next to Star Wars movie sets. HOLY HD PHOTOS BATMAN!! Heheheheh brilliant! Eagerly awaiting HD images of this, especially the mini-figures. Because I know that seeing them is going to tip me over the edge and force me to buy the set on release day.

Hmm. As it goes, I could actually afford the $270 tag - though not sure how I'd explain that one to the missus. Would be far and away the priciest set I've ever bought. It's a balancing act, this Lego collecting, and there's a reason I've been in my Dark Ages for a while. Already given up on Star Wars after 4 months because I've been priced out of it - here's hoping Superheroes doesn't follow suit.

Sitting here, twiddling my thumbs until the 60s Batcave and Funko DC Collector Corps are both officially announced. I know they're coming... But when?! By the way, where did the price come from for the Batcave? The more I look at the leaked photos, the more inclined I am to believe it will be clear to $200 than $270. Unless it's confirmed 270, in which case ignore me. In more relevant news to 2016; the Wonder Woman minifig is spectacular! As is Batfleck. Superman, Lex and Lois are all somewhat disappointing, but overall the set is fun so far, 2 bags in. The Batwing feels really chunky to hold, and it doesn't even have its wings on yet. Would recommend this set.

I asked the same question and was told to expect at least a year, maybe 2

I would assume it will be a set featuring Zemo, Spider-Man and perhaps be focussed on a spoilery event in the film, such as the destruction of something familiar in the MCU - but that is purely my own speculation.

I'm from the UK, so no Target for me unfortunately Sweet, Batmobile it is for this month then, thanks for making up my indecisive mind for me

Never doubt the Lego group's unfathomable ways! Hahah Since I'm not sure where else to ask; which of the larger 2016 sets should I get first; Batmobile or Batwing?
