LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors
Fuppylodders replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Naw, from the looks of it, when printing, the black ran too heavy at one point, hence the very solidly over-blacked 'plaque' sticker. The heavier black would affect the print of the gray, giving it a darker look. So, nothing intentional there, just bad printing :P (I used to be a printer ^_^) -

When I get my shuttle, ill happily trade you my nice box (providing it arrives ok, im only across the channel thankfully) for the contents of your beat up box =D Then you can have a lovely box to sit on your shelf and i get another shuttle. Everyone's happy -
There is a good discussion in this forum already, about the 10179 Falcon set, most info you require is listed there. Lot of pages to read through though =D

Buying LEGO from other countries on-line stores
Fuppylodders replied to Siegfried's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Thanks for relieving my concerns =D Ive figured out Im going to get my mum to give this to me 'as a reward' for gettin a new job... (basically, an excuse so my gf knows I have it without knowing I paid for it xD), So, it is still a good incentive to get a job asap! -
What is Your Favorite Lego Star Wars Year?
Fuppylodders replied to JackJonespaw's topic in LEGO Star Wars
2008 does it for me... That is the year the republic gunship was released, and although I started collecting (with that as my first item) at about 2010, its the year that has my current most favs in it... the RGS, AT-TE, V19 torrent, republic fighter tank... I just think they were really good designs/builds -
if that is close to what it will look like, im gettin it! I have not seen any pics of it yet though :o

Buying LEGO from other countries on-line stores
Fuppylodders replied to Siegfried's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
I just used the uk website to reference what the Italian one meant... My only concern is would I get charged £211 or euro 211. When page translates, it states £'s. when it isnt translated, it states euros. Think I'll phone up my credit card bank and find out their exchange rate, then ill be happy =D Ty for the offer, I may take you up on it at some point now people have pointed me towards cheap Italian Lego =D *edit* yeah... So I'll be in big trouble if my gf finds out... I've ordered it to arrive at my mothers... I'll just get my mum to pretend its a present for something.... or something.... But still, it cost me £180 in total (inc p+p) which, is bloody good. £65 off retail price let alone the cost of what either lego's S@H would have been, or the cost in fuel to get to my nearest lego store (at least £20) so yeah. WELL worth it imo, TY Eurobricks members for bringing this happy burden to me =D -
Buying LEGO from other countries on-line stores
Fuppylodders replied to Siegfried's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
I dont understand it... I go to checkout... it is still dead cheap... until the total gets calculated then its like it converts euros straight into UK £'s on a 1:1 exchange... EUR 197.84 Shipping costs: EUR 13.20 Order Total: £ 211.04 ?? Wheres the current 1.20 euros to the £1 like it is at the moment? £211 isn't enough of a discount for me to justify throwing one of these beauties on my credit card atm... but if it converted properly, it would be... Any ideas anyone? *edit* ive just realised, it could be the translation of the page. It converts the word Euro into £ for the total... I just looked at it all italian style, and its now showing Euros... Which would it be? :o -
Buying LEGO from other countries on-line stores
Fuppylodders replied to Siegfried's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
I have not yet checked shipping to the UK... But when I get home in 45 minutes... if it is reasonable, I will have you to blame for adding an imperial shuttle off my wishlist and onto my 'waiting to receive' list <.> The gf is surely going to kill me =/ -
Im hooked already... where do I throw my money to? :o
-
*edited out comment as it didnt really add much* From looking at this, compared to the other modular buildings I have seen, it seems to be missing a certain 'flare'... or something... quirkyness?

ouch... £3k? just ouch!!! Yeah, I can imagine you are right, 2 people tried to snipe it last minute with high offers.... lol....

Smaller packaging for Star Wars sets
Fuppylodders replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
^^^^^This. Which also makes it harder to (personally?) justify the higher price because it 'looks' like your getting less, meaning you feel the hurt more when you fork out loads, and get what instantly appears less. -
This is lovely! The interior is done so well as a playset yet the exterior looks so tidy that it can easily pass as a very good display model!

Ive been searching through some old threads... i thought this was one and that this was old news... now ive just seen the date and its very recent. I now need new underwear :<

Solution for Millenium Falcon boarding ramp

This, I shall be doing to my 2011 MF! great mod =D -
@ Oxus I wholeheartedly agree with you. @Brickadeer, I wholeheartedly understand your point of view, and you do make some very good points! However I find there is a certain flaw with your logic. We are humans, and humans are prone to having emotions. Some express them more, some less, this is what makes us all unique. In your logic, it is basically unreasonable to ever get upset over anything that has the remotest chance of being changed. Example of why I have literally just been made upset. I just went to Ireland to go for a medical test so I could get a medical licence to be able to go on a course to become a pilot (coincidence to your post ^_^). However, it was not for the fact of my previous eye operations, nor from my left and right broken wrists I suffered previously, but from my lack of ability to blow out enough air from my lungs in the ventilator test. If i failed due to the eye ops, or the wrists, that would be unchangeable. I can expand my lung capacity by certain exercises. Yet is it unreasonable of me to be upset at the fact I did not pass a simple test which would have given me the go ahead to then go on the pilot course? I know the emotion will pass, and I understand to look at everything positive, and I am, but my emotions can't help me feeling upset about this (not least due to the extra cost of having to go back to Ireland at some point!). I havn't gotten the MF, I'd like to, and am upset at the fact I missed the opportunity to get it at retail price. If they re-released it, I am in a better position to get it now. If they do not, well, I am not going to grudge over it. I have chosen to put my current lego money towards building a minifig scale sized AT-AT which. But I do not feel it unreasonable to feel a slight bit of upset at the memory of knowing I missed out on a good set...

@Fallenangel Thanks for the advice, I think I may just go with it. With regards to the sloping bricks creating difficulties with the side panels, I hadnt thought too much about them at the moment, only I have basic ideas in my head of which I have done the sloping bricks to suit. It will create difficulty, but I will also have more difficulty in creating the side panels so they actually fit on the LDD version with their weird angles, so I think I shall create the skeleton, and then when I have the actual lego to build it, I shall then go about making the side armour in real life. As for the head, I can see exactly what you mean and to a point I do agree, but to do that would mean (from my lack of knowledge) restructuring a lot of it and possibly starting it over... I think I am happy with it for now =D I was thinking the same thing, but then, all the grenade did was set off about 4/5 small explosions that triggered the head to blow up(logic? xD). Nothing indicated it was actually the engine room. I think due to that, I will go with speeder bikes on the bottom, and say they were the little explosions which blew up something which triggered the head to explode causing the thing to topple over because the actual body remained intact (if an engine room exploded I would imagine that the whole thing would have blown up leaving nothing left to topple over, and because the actual drive engines for the legs are underneath the AT-AT in big cylinders. The third engine (the one inside the AT-AT) is I would imagine a power generator for the engines below (?) or the filtration/atmospheric exchangers stuff :o Either way, thank you guys, your comments have inspired my decision!

UCS Super Star Destroyer 10221: A build and review
Fuppylodders replied to Raytracer's topic in LEGO Star Wars
This ^^^^ Seconded -
Those LED's give (especially the rear) that slight better finishing touch that the set seems to be missing =D Brilliant!

I am currently having a bit of a dilemma.... It is regarding the Rear section of the body. The vehicle bay and the engine bay. Various sources state that the engine bay is on the upper deck with the speeder bike bay being on the lower deck (both rear section). Yet other sources state that the speeder bike bay is located on the upper deck while the engine room is located on the lower deck... I do not know which to do! As it is, with the (body's) forward sloping roof, it will be able to be lifted up like a normal hatch would... If I had the speeder bikes in the upper deck, I could use this method to explain how the speeder bikes exit the AT-AT. If I had the speeder bikes on the lower deck, I would not need to fuss about with the rear top sloping roof bit being able to open enough to get the bikes out, but just as a 'viewing' area to see inside the engine bay. The speeder bikes could simply come out of the bike bay through doors to the central staging area where the large side boarding doors are and exit through there. Which should I do? :( Secondly, I can not clearly see how the troops go from the upper deck to the lower deck. Information on this seems to be invisible. Images do not clearly define this either, and I am positive the tiny forward and rear escape hatches on the sides are for emergency only, not their only way of getting on/off it. For the time being I have created 2 access hatches which will have ladders, but I would like someone else's say/knowledge on how access really is attained...? Many thanks! =D

For those that have been into Lego for long enough, with the money to spare. The one time I went into a shop and saw it for the first time, I was having bad luck with money/job and I can tell you, when there are more important things in life at that time to put my money into to keep myself afloat, and then have someone say basically its my fault for not getting there quick enough, and that I now deserve to pay £1000 or so for one, is quite frankly, an arrogant mindset. Those that have one of the first few thousand that had the collectors edition number, were REAL collectors edition items. Any MF after that, people are just kidding themselves thinking it is something specially unique and rare to collect. You take a look on Bricklink/E-bay.... they are NOT rare. Just stupidly overpriced.
