1. I receive my Toyfare Magazine #131 today and on Page 22 are pictures of the upcoming StarWars Lego Sets - AT-TE Walker, Magnaguard Starfighter, V-19 Torrent and the Indiana Jones TRU Exclusive - Peril In Peru set. Here is what it says: INDIANA JONES & CLONE WARS By Lego Release Date: July/August It's a good time to be LEGO George Lucas, with LEGO sets of both Clone Wars and Indiana Jones swinging into stores. (Yada-yada-yada...) The Indiana Jones "Peril In Peru" set which brings a scene from Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull to life, will debut on July 1 exclusively at Toys R' Us and on LEGO.com. Isn't that too late since the movie is being shown this Thursday in the US? That's like 5+ weeks more of waiting...
2. That is true... TRU tends to have the new sets out earlier than the Lego stores (at least in my area). A trend, I think, that will continue. To give you an example: When the new Indiana Jones sets first came out, my local TRU has it displayed 2 weeks ahead before I saw it in the Lego store. Although I haven't seen any new sets lately at my TRU store - Coast Guard sets and such... Good luck on your (Lego) hunting!
3. Very interesting... all these years and I thought it was me who doesn't know how to work it properly. Just like most of you, I stopped using this service out of frustration and give S@H at least 2 weeks for delivery of my orders from date-of-order. After that time, I'd call their Customer Service Dept and inquire.
4. simonwillems and ralph s... thank you so much!... That's the one I'm talking about. Ain't it funny? It makes my day everytime I see that. Well, I'm heading over to MOCpages and try to contact him. Again, my thanks to all of you for being so helpful! I've been learning alot since I joined EB...
5. I'll admit it... I'm stupid when it comes to computers. One reason why I couldn't post a link to the gallery. But if any of you have the time and talent, maybe you can help me out... Once in BrickShelf, do a search by typing "Yamato" and several folders will be displayed. The one I'm talking about is a MOC of this great ship 'sinking' as in an anime-style. It cracks me up everytime I look at it due to the minifigs' facial expressions. I want to know who made it so I can contact this guy/gal and ask him/her some questions about it. Hope you guys can help. Not all of us are computer-savvy.
6. Ah! Everytime I hear you guys talk about these sets, it makes me want to drool... Just like alot of you, I've been waiting since the day I heard/saw of these sets to add to my layout. To those who already have and assembled the Coast Guard sets, lucky you's... and thanks for the reviews and comments. It gives those of us who're still waiting for these sets to appear in our local stores some ideas. I was at the Lego store near my area last night, hoping they'd have these sets already... but came out empty handed. I wonder when these sets will be released in the US (west coast)? Most likely Toys R' Us will have it first in stock (more often than not). Ah!... the torture of waiting...
7. Ooppss - sorry if I wasn't clear. That is correct, I'm talking about the Factory Sets. So it does NOT come with any building instructions and can only be viewed by downloading the LDD file. Wow... something to think about.
8. It's probably simpler and easiest to just request a catalog (by phone or online) with your new address/location. Having your old address change doesn't always work (99% of the time it does). Just a suggestion. I got mine yesterday and it is small, but still thankful I got a copy for future reference. Thanks, TLC!
9. Same here... wish I could go but no budget for the trip. Maybe next year? I'm also going to miss the NMRA Convention in Anaheim, CA this July which really sucks. Maybe I'll just console myself with a day trip to Legoland CA sometime this summer. Anyone care to join me?
10. I'd like to know how good (or bad) is the instruction booklet that comes with each set if we do order at S@H. It is pricey so at least we can have a decent/well printed booklet. Has anyone have any experience ordering from the S@H Factory (items)? Pls share your comments for the rest of us.
11. Thanks again for your responses. So it's like a dead-end or locating a needle in a haystack... That's what I thought since I couldn't find any info about individuals who post on BrickShelf. Oh well... life goes on.
12. As the title says, it there a way to contact certain people who post their MOCs on BrickShelf? Does one have to be a registered user on the website to do so? Thanks in advance for your responses.
13. I agree... We should be thankful there is still a catalog (either big or small).
14. I hope not... although producing a catalog 4-6 times a year is expensive. Most likely a Summer and Holiday catalogs will be the full-size version that we got used to in the past. Reason: Summer is the slowest time of the year and Christmas is... gift buying... so on both cases, Lego has to sell more or the company won't meet its sales projections for the quarter.
15. If you guys head over to the Lego S@H website, you'll be able to view the latest catalog. It does have fewer pages (less than 20, I believe). Nothing exciting really as we already know most of the new sets. Nevertheless, it's nice to see it in paper (officially). Hope this helps.
16. Yes!... I remember this episode. It was accidental, I was channel surfing and came across this show. That was really cool of the producers of the show to decorate that boy's room with Lego. Which reminds me, there was also an episode from Flip That House wherein an AFFOL was asked to disregard her MOCs of Lego. You could see the tortured expression in the AFFOL's face as her MOCs were brought out of the house and placed in the driveway as the interior of the house was emptied with Lego creations. The show host was even surprised how could someone 'decorate' her house with Lego.
17. This set being a TRU Exclusive... will S@H or Lego stores be carrying it, too? I'm asking because in the past, I've seen TRU Exclusive sets being available in Lego stores. Maybe, yes, no... wishful thinking?
18. Wow! This is informative... I never knew there are so many shows/movies wherein Lego was used. I'm sure there's more...
19. Shortsightedness in my part. I apologize. The title is "First Shop of Coffee Prince" or plain "Coffee Prince." It's a 16-episode series and the Legos started appearing in either Episode 5 or 6. I don't have a link, sorry. Maybe YouTube has something. Like I said, it's very interesting as the director used Legos as some of the props, emplasizing one of the leading character's hobby is also collecting Legos.
20. It has subtitles: French, English, Chinese... You should try it sometime.
21. Hello everyone, This subject came to be when a friend of mine (who knew that I collect/play with Lego) mentioned that she have watched this Korean TV Series wherein Legos were used as props. Out of curiosity, I decided to watch it and sure enough, several City Sets were used as display in one of the major character's condo. There was even a layout/diorama of a medieval battle in one of the rooms! Bionicles were also featured. So now, I'm wondering how many such movies or tv series are out there that you guys know about. To our South Korean brothers, if there are any in this forum... "nice job!"
22. Hi... I'd say you will (but not 100% sure). I say 'yes' because once you are in the 'subscription list,' you will automatically get the next 'set' that is being mailed out. That's how I understood it. Correct me if I'm wrong though.
23. Several times in the past, my local Lego store didn't have the sets that I want; the Lego employees were kind enough to 'place the order' for me thru the store and shipping is free. So I guess this is a company policy to keep customers (especially adults) happy by getting free shipping.
24. I'm not gifted or talented as most of you are, so when I do finish a MOC, it stays up forever. Least to say, I don't have that many. 2-3 in the past... hhmmnn... 17 years?
25. I had a similar experience a few years back, when MegaBlocks (no offense to those who collects this brand) was releasing military sets. I was impressed with the images/pictures I saw at the store so I bought a couple of sets. Upon opening, frustration abound. I was lucky enough to sell both sets in a garage sale we held that same summer; at least I got some of my money back. Moral lesson of the story: Don't believe everything that you see - especially if the featured pictures are too good to be true. Hope our comments help.
