So, with the closing of LDD's DesignBy Me, I went ahead and purchaced a few of my Star Wars Galaxies creations... as a Christmas present to me and my 2 younger brothers. Here are a few of the pictures they sent back. It's weird seeing a creation you made on the computer turn into reality. Out of the 3, the Dunelizard was the hardest they had said... and the weakest suprisenly. That was one of the bad parts of LDD was seeing how strong a part was. Some of you guys might remember them from this thread I did awhile back about them when they were out of LDD. M3-A Scyk fighter Just gotta love the war paint from my brother there. V-wing And maybe the best of all of them, the G1-M4-C Dunelizard Starfighter (style 2)! Enjoy! I know my brothers already are!

There's something addicting with this kind of music hahaha

Ahh... alright then. I'll be keeping that in mind for future topics. Thank you very much!

Odd... so I guess even though the LDD is city themed, it still goes to the LDD section? I had one before that is LDD and was never moved... but I guess it being a WIP its ok then. Had ended up looking around the city theme trying to find my own thread earlier hoping it just wasn't deleted >.<. Yep... same here. I wish I was able to remake it with bricks as well. Might through on the LDD file in the MOC pages sometime for others to enjoy at least.

Thanks! Yep, LDD is all I really have. But with it, my building has no limits!

Bus V-LB-03F, V-LC-17D to V-LC-17F Well, I had put these up on the MOC pages and I'll go ahead and show them here as well. They are all recreations of what I once had back when I was going to high school. One of the fun things was me and my little brother would build then and end up pushing (or could be concidered launching...) them across the carpet floors in my parent's house. Sometimes we would start from opposite sides and push them at each other and they would either crash or drive right past each other. Here is what I have... along with links to their pages with more pictures. Enjoy! First is my little mini Truck. Next is a London bus... I still have the origional too, only that one is covered with stickers of advertisements on it. (Unfortuently, it is in a storage unit... so no real pictures of it yet) And last but not least is my Semi Trucks I used to build. Those were always fun.

Same here... yea it might be down. Last I was on was yesterday and I can't get on at all today.
-
Hmm... now that you mentioned it, the head does look a tad small. I might do a little tweaking there and raise it up higher. Ahh... yea I see now what you mean. I read it wrong... already am scaling down the cargohold by a few inches. I can also tell that it is too long as well. Thanks for pointing that out :D And yep, that guy is very relaxed... he has his coffee... or whatever that is. So he is cool with the wait lol.
-
Thanks... I think the framework might have been the hardest as well as very repetivive. The main project might take some time and the waits for any updates a bit longer. My references are my many screenshots I took from the MMO it was from as well as my own knowlegde on it as I decorated the heck out of the one I owned. The screenshots are here in my flicker page. Some of the ones I have it over cities and stuff. I might eventually get around to post the interior of it... but the interior is mostly at the top "head" of it as well as the portion over the cargoholds. Everywhere else is either storage or interior machinery and avionics. Though I do plan on customizing the cargohold as it can easily serve as a hanger. That was how I had it on the game... downside was you could not enter the cargohold in game. So I might be going for a big bulky and open look within it... like from Serenity.
-
Here is the final update for the framework I had been working on so I could get a general idea on the angles of the ship. With its size, I had to take multiple screenshots and copy and paste them together in one picture. The engines and most of the spherical parts I have not installed... so that's why there is a nice gap under the cargohold. Sometimes pictures don't give a good show of the details... so I had included the LDD file for the frame on its MOC page near the bottom. Enjoy!
-
Ohh... good idea. With these and the engines I know what I might be working on once I pull mine out from the storage unit. I at least wish I had a bedroom to leave mine at lol.
-
Wow... yes the droid there is a good step up from the normal R2 unit. Out of curiosity, I visited to Lego store in San Diego and unfortuently they are not even stocked with any of the new 2012 sets :(. They seem to actually be waiting until January hits to bring them out lol. I did still walk away with a 853219 PotC Battle Pack for some of the outfits though.
-
Never owned the Death Star, I didn't think it really looked that heavy, guess I was wrong. I'd hate to see how flat the pieces on the bottom would be after awhile o.0
-
Wow... that's heavy. I might end up designing a gap inside where I can install a metal beam to help if I ever build it. That and a custom display stand on wheels lol. I wish they had an option in LDD where you can toggle gravity and see where needs reinforced.
-
I'll have to say all of them as well... maybe even bring back the classic yellow minifigs heh
-
That's the plan :)... I'm estamating around 6-7 feet tall with real Legos. I would not want to think how heavy the thing would be >.<
-
Smallish update here. Working on the front part now. Along with that, got where the living section would be that is right over the cargoholds. The engines will be connected to where that box is under the cargoholds... as well as having positioning thrusters underneith it.
-
Well, even though I have the page on my MOC page, I plan to put my updates here as well. For those who have easily noticed, I like building ships from the now ended online game of Star Wars Galaxies. Earlier today, I had got it in my head to start a project that I have always wanted to start for a very long time. To build a Y8 Mining Ship scaled to Lego Man size. It's a weird shape for a ship, but I have an idea that can work out to allow it to land on the ground that I will eventually get to. For now, I have started on the framework and its skeleton. So far I have only competed the frame of the cargohold, which I have placed my latest competed LDD creation inside to give a good scale to how big this thing will really be. I'll have to stare at my screenshots some more, but I think the cargoholds are about the right size. If you had looked at the wookieepedia site (the second link in the first paragraph) you would see the "head" of it up on the very top. A YT-1300 would be a little over half that lenght. My Sorosuub yacht in the right scale would be about the size of the whole "head". On to what I have so far. The three cargo holds. Each hold would have a large, thick pressurized door on both ends to connect each together. That, and each hold will have alot of headroom. I'll also be building them so they will be able to disconnect separatly from each other. I'll be updating more as I go along. I honestly have never completed anything bigger then my fighters so I think I will be occuping myself with this for awhile. One thing I always hated was that LDD was always harder to build with then real Legos. Anyways, wish me luck. I hope to finish this at least in LDD... or at least try to before it starts to lag out with the amount of pieces. Then I might ahv eto end up trying to build each section and saved separatly. It might take longer to gather up all the parts to build in real life >.<... so at least I will be making the instructions.
-
I got them from the bottom of my shoes :p
-
I think I'll post a joke that has bothered me since I bought the new V-wing that uses its guns as landing gear... Edit: For those who don't know, FOD is a aviation term. It stands for Foreign Object Damage... like rocks and stuff.

My name is Morten - Huge Lego Star Wars and UCS nut :)
Tuskano replied to mortesv's topic in Hello! My name is...
Hey there! Welcome to the forums! Star Wars fan here as well. I just have to say that being a fan of UCS are expensive hehe. But yes, same here... defintly liked how you put more detail on the engine portion of the SD there. I have one packed away in a storage unit that I can't wait to bring back out. I'll look forward to future modifications you shall be showing! Until then... I'll continue my work in LDD. I only live in a barracks room and I have zero space for Legos >.< -
lego star wars themes for LDD?
Tuskano replied to Tyler Boon's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Hi there, I think I have an idea what you are asking about. No there is not a theme for Star Wars on LDD. There is only the 3 themes... Design By Me, Mindstorm, and Lego Universe. There is also another theme that you can unlock (think there is a thread on that here... I forget how I did it exactly) that is called Lego Extended. That one has basically all the parts including alot of the Star Wars themed ones within it that you can use. If you do a little digging you should find how to unlock it. Ah, just checked where... its stickied in the LDD section here. Has all the instructions there. -
I love the Design By Me box that the Pilot is bringing out the back of the shuttle lol. That was resized very well.
-
I like the black lines I gave it on the wings too. It turned out great... though to buy one on Design-By-Me is like $200 lol
-
Woot! Finished this in time for Christmas! Even gave it a red nose lol. This is yet another starfighter from the MMO, enjoy. G1-M4-C Dunelizard Starfighter (style 1)
