Kaliphlin Guild: Homepage, Sign-up and Discussion
Maxim I replied to Si-MOCs's topic in Guilds of Historica
(Edit:) First of all: it is LORD Damaximus for you. Hmmm, let us see: Drow against Avalonia (a few weeks ago): "Blablablabla, you will be enslaved blablablablabla and destroyed blablablabla" Avalonia saw this as a declaration of war... Avalonian member (and head of the AAG) against Kaliphlin member: "blablablablablablablabla. You will be destroyed" May Kaliphlin see this as a declaration of war??? I hope not, so that's why I give you the time to rephrase your words See, I am not that bad... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Now in other news: The whole story of the Failed Assassination Attempt on Menshe Isra Ar!!!!! Who did this? Why? => Well, the answer is NOT in the story, but it is still worth reading!!! => My link <= -
The Assassination Attempt ("The Chronicles of Lord Damaximus", Part II: "Rise of Mpya Stedor" - Chapter XVIII written by Geshi Edeh Nihs) Kaliphlin is a Guild where the freedom of speech is almost holy. So every Kaliphlin resident may say what he thinks. Ofcourse, the more important the person is, the more people listen to him. So when professor Sociology and Psychology Menshe Isra Ar started writing guest-columns in the Kaliphlin Times, there was a lot of reaction on his work. Well, a lot of Avalonian reaction to be specific. They blamed him to work with the Drow, to want the world burn and so on and so on... The reason? In his columns, he attacked the Avalonian reaction on the events in Nocturnus. He never said pro-Drow things, only anti-Avalonians. He is Kaliphlin, so he got the right to say what he want, as long as he can give evidences, otherwise no one would believe him. Menshe Isra Ar is professor at the Free University of Petraea, but also at the Mpya Stedor University. Just like his good friend Geshi Edeh Nis. But let us begin with the story: On a very beautiful day, just like all the other days in the year, there was a lot of activity going on at the Market of Mpya Stedor: But because these uncertain times, Lord Damaximus decided to use members of the I.A.M.S. to help guarding. More specific the famous Knifethrowers: Standing on the first floor of the wall, they had an excellent view of everything going on beneath them. On that particular day in Mpya Stedor, Geshi (grey cape) and Menshe (white cape) were talking to eachother at the market: Menshe: How are your students doing with their exams? Geshi: - Not bad, not bad. I am pretty proud of them to be honest. They are really interested in History. And your students? Menshe: - Half of them will pass, the other half fail, like always But I had a really angry student 2 days ago. He threatened to kill me... Geshi: - Haha what u said? "You have to hurry as whole Avalonia wants me dead too?" Menshe: - Yeah, something like that I said You know, I respect them... Geshi: - Who? The students? Menshe: - I meant Avalonia Of course not everyone, they are still Avalonian. But I respect Artorius Rex. Such a control he has over Avalonia... His people follow him with their eyes closed... Still to bad he decided to help the current leader of Nocturnus... Geshi: - Indeed... That is supposed to be a war between the Nocturnians, not between the Guilds... Menshe: - Even if Lord S wins now, they will not accept him anymore as he looks weak in their eyes... ... And so they talked for another hour... Geshi: - Oh, it's almost midday, I promised my wife to buy apples... I see you Monday at the University again Menshe: - Yes indeed my friend! Say 'hi' to her! And so Geshi walked away: And after Menshe bought a nice looking map, he did the same: When suddenly, almost out of nowhere: But even it was unexpected, she would never hit her target. 2 knifes flying in the air, one perfectly hitting her neck, the other one her back. Without a single noise she felt down, hitting the ground with a loud "plof". Less than a minute later, the area was full of Marketguards and frightened people. Even Geshi was in shock... At the city walls, 2 Knifethrowers look to eachother and smiled. They are faster then their shadows. Their eyes are quicker then those of hawks. And they never miss their targets... The news of the failed assassination attempt spread throughout all over Historica, everyone blaming someone else. Was it the AAG to stop the columns about Avalonia? Were it the Drow who wanted to bring panic in Kaliphlin? Or was it the angry student who wanted revenge?? Right now, nobody could answer those questions... Well almost nobody ofcourse as the Assassin was ordered by some people to kill Menshe... The only thing everyone could agree with, was that the I.A.M.S. are very deadly... ~ At the palace ~ (edit: this conversation is written years after the facts and it is impossible that someone else could hear it as the palace is surround by water) Alarmed by the screaming of the people at the Market, Lord Max Samu and Lord Damaximus went to the Western balcony where they had a good view of the theater. Lord Damaximus: - It's funny that you can tell by the time of the day where the Assassin is coming from. Avalonians only work when there is a lot of light. Drow and Nocturnians only at Night. Kaliphlin Assassins prefer to work in the evening as it is a lot fresher then while Mitgardian assassins only work in the morning as it is cold then. Lord Max Samu: - That is indeed true. Dama: - Who was he? Max: - It was a she. Trained by the AAG. Pretty experienced, she already had a nice amount of heads collected... Dama: - Poor lady... Many people will be very disappointed... Max: (smiles) - Indeed, maybe except for the one who gave her orders ...

That is just the point... Nocturnus needs a powerful leader, not a leader that needs assistance from other Guilds... Nocturnians love power, that's a fact, so they need someone who they never will rebel against 2000????????????? Indeed, that is an army we all only can dream of But strange but true, when joining a Guild, a member always choose a role related to the seize of his army. Those who have not that many warriors became assassins, traders, famous craftsmen, ... Those with bigger armies, became citylords 2000 men is just (like the army Siercon & Coral can assemble) something very unique for a Lego Army (even in the piratesworld, scifi world, ...) . So we better don't keep your army in mind when discussing something like this But please read the discussion -

There are only 2 Nocturnians who stayed loyal to their leader: Hyler and Tazmaniac All other Nocturnians I know or don't care or support the Drow Artorius Rex is to early to claim victory... Well, it are not really Drows who are in Mitgardia, but groups related to the Drow... Most of them are even attacking from Avalonia into Mitgardia. For most it are all rumours. But some know the real facts -

Big things happened in Mpya Stedor!!! Failed assassinationattempt at Menshe Isra Ar!!! Teaser: And Lord Damaximus counted his soldiers! The balance: 20 Mounted Knights 4 Gladiators 16 I.A.M.S. - members 52 Archers (or crossbowmen) 10 Pikemen 14 Spearmen 13 Greataxemen 25 (heavy) Swordsmen => A total 154 (and with myself 155) :D And probably some I forgot to count now, but the exact number and pictures are for tomorrow! -

Not really: Small resume: The Drow rebelled against the current leader of Nocturnus. Most Nocturnians have joined the Drow. Avalonia supports the current leader, so they declared war on the Drow and sent some troops to the borders of Nocturnus. Now the Avalonians and the Drow are fighting some battles. Also the Drow declared war on Mitgardia by sending troops to raid their villages. The only Guild where there is still peace is Kaliphlin as we stay neutral in this conflict (because we are traders) About the rebellion in Nocturnus: at this moment, nobody can call himself a winner. Neverthless some big events will happen in the next days -
Great challenge!!! As West-Mpya Stedor is way bigger than 48x48, I'll make a smaller MOC

Bummer... But way more realistic :D The first thing I thought was: daaaaaamn that would cost him around 5000 Dollar!!!! By the way, same remark as I did in the topic of de Gothia: we agreed that we won't use multiplication when describing our army-size The discussion started here: My link And the last post was this: My link So if you put numbers in a post, you have to be able to prove that -

Please note this: "note: The opinion of Menshe Isra Ar is not necessarily the one of "The Kaliphlin Times", The F.U.P. or the M.S.U." As a member of a neutral Guild with freedom of speech, Menshe can say his opinion, just like every other Kaliphlin wise man can say his opinion These opinions are not necessarily those of the Kaliphlin Times or the city the speaker is related to. As far as I know he never supported the Drow in his articles, he just ask questions by the way Avalonia is warfaring And by the way: If you accuse someone of being wrong, you have to prove why he is wrong. You don't have to try to attack his credibility... The Drow already did that for you if I remember right -

And also in this edition, Menshe Isra Ar wrote an article: 1 June The Flight of The Dragons. Written by Menshe Isra Ar, Professor Sociology and Psychology at the F.U.P. and the U.M.S. Historic facts approved by Geshi Edeh Nis, Professor History at the F.U.P. and the U.M.S. I ended my article in the previous edition by asking: "what are the plans of Avalonia? Do they want to conquer all of Nocturnus pretending to fight only the Drow? Or are the men just afraid of their wife at home and are they just seeking distraction?" Let us see if we can answer this question already. A lot changed already. Mitgardia is now also in a state of war with the Drow. Many Mitgardians are sending troops to help the Avalonian villages. Keep this in mind for the rest of the article! So Avalonia says they are sending their troops to Nocturnus. Avalonians who refused to do this are being remembered they made a promise a long time ago. So this would mean the troops of Avalonia are at the border of Nocturnus and their villages are unprotected... Avalonia states "that their troops will fight side by side with Nocturnian troops". To help their Avalonian brothers, Mitgardia sent troops to Avalonia to protect these villages against raids. Meanwhile, the first confrontations with the Drow are made. The first outpost of the Drow IN Nocturnus has been sieged by an Avalonian army. So far, this all make sense. Nothing wrong with this... But now comes the strange part: Avalonia states now they have only 50 men at the border, only scouts! And they also state they are not sending troop into Nocturnus (yet)!! So this means that everything they said earlier was just one big lie! This even would mean that their stories about attacking Drow outposts are just a big lie!! This also means, that their troops are still inside Avalonia. So why are there so many Mitgardian reinforcments then in Avalonia??? But let us add one more fact before we start with my opinion: Artorious Rex is summoning the Flight of the Dragon. The Flight of the Dragon is led by the most important Avalonians. Their goal: forming the largest army Historica has ever seen! This all to remain the peace in Historica So hold on, wait a minute... The last time the Flight of the Dragon was summoned, it was to "bring peace into Avalonia". As a result they conquered Avalonia. All important members of the Flight of the Dragon are now important Avalonians, all with their own lands and knights... Now they are summoning their Flight again, but now to "bring peace into Historica". For this, they will have to invade Nocturnus, as almost all Nocturnians are loyal to the Drow. Will the men of the Flight of the Dragons become the next new leaders of Nocturnus? Just like they did when they conquered Avalonia? note: The opinion of Menshe Isra Ar is not necessarily the one of "The Kaliphlin Times", The F.U.P. or the M.S.U. -

Ooh, come on... 50 man are supposed to rescue Nocturnus from the Drow? They only scout without even crossing the border?? (like Rex says...) 50 brave scouts "fight side by side by loyalists to Lord S." ??? -

Allright this means 2 things: - or this text is just written to fool everyone - or Avalonians are even worse than women in co-ordination and the hundreds soldiers of DeGothia are now somewhere melting down in the extremely hot Kaliphlin Desert Oh and by the way, if Avalonia is indeed forming the largest army ever seen in Historica, then why are they so affraid that the Drow are a threat for every Historican??? Proof again that Avalonians are just as warmoning or even worse than the Drow. Also I would like to point you to the fact that there are already Avalonians in Nocturnus fighting against the Drow (K. Kreations for example)... -
That first picture is just perfect!! It's almost unbelievable it's without photoshop! Also, very nice side-details. With this I mean the father and the son and the scouts patrolling beside the main group One remark, not entirely adressed to you, but to those who are putting questions by army-size (Dustin and others): I discussed this a while ago at the general topic of Historica. There was not really an official declaration, but I the discussion was closed with this: - if you are talking about a story in the past, you may choose the armysize - if you are talking about a story in the present, you will have to base your armysize on the number of minifig-soldiers you really have

I am still happy there I didn't had to hire Avalonians to build my walls and towers... But for "older" buildings, it may work indeed. Imposing watchtower!! So great job Ecclesiastes! edit: in time of exams, it looks like I lost the ability to write English sentences without any faults... => I am still happy, I didn't...

It is based on the design of the wall I got :) Will be something like this: 24*48 (base) and 45 bricks heigh :) But first I will make it in LDD, so probably it will change a bit :) It will also depend on what deals I can find on bricklink as the PaB's here in Europe are a rarity

Nice ram :) They are certainly well-protected your men :) Now I remember why I designed my Gatehouse against all common constructionrules But that will be for July...

In Kaliphlin, it is always summer at day The only difference between summer and winter are the temperatures in the nights and the length of the days (winter: 6 hours of total darkness in the night instead of 4) -
thx to all :) I am sure the I.A.M.S. will play a big role in the future, but more about that later (out of character:) @dG: I have around 182 Dark Bluish Grey Rock Panels :) simple reason: I bought them for 0.22$ a piece. For that money, you never can make a part of a mountain with the same size just by bricks But I have to admit that I have a lot of work when I want to put some variation in it oh by the way, I just discovered something funny about the I.A.M.S.: I.A.M.S is lead by Max Samu => I.Am.Max.Samu edit: to avoid confusion: Lord Damaximus is not Max Samu

I have to disappoint you, Kaliphlin is one of the most safe places at Historica nowadays and it will be like that even after Avalonia falls Even if there would come gates like that here in Kaliphlin, the creatures will not be adapted to the overdosis of light they will see. The sun and the deserts are strong alliances of Kaliphlin. It is even like she is shining more brighter and brighter every day, while it is becoming darker and darker in the other Guilds... And without us, the Drow would have a lot of trouble as they need us as tradepartners, just like Avalonia and Mitgardia needs us Ooh, and by the way, the Drow are not using all their power right now...
