The Lego TV Commercial Archive
salty tbone replied to Brickadier General's topic in General LEGO Discussion
These are great! Although I don't usually do the "running man" when building pirate sets. :-P -
Well I just finally caved in and bought the chess "battle pack" this weekend, so I probably won't be getting these. But I'm still excited about the news if these are legit. Battle packs are an AFOL's dream come true (well, at least mine. :-) )

The more pics I'm seeing, the more I'm loving this set. When I saw the parts list mentioned earlier in this thread, I was wondering how harpoon guns would be used. I never thought they'd make nice fire-escape railings. :-) Perfect if you're escaping a fire and need to fend off sharks at the same time. There's so many details to this set. The second-floor curtains, baby stroller, radiator, the roof. I'll gladly eat ramen noodles for a month just to afford this set. *sweet*

Is the new Castle line making old ones obsolete?
salty tbone replied to concreteasflesh's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
As others have said, nostalgia for me means that classic castle will never be obsolete. The crownies' shiny duds just reflect their wealth in my fantasy world (they do have a gold mine, after all :-) ) That wealth has made them the target of most all the other factions (my yellow castle serves as the original "crownie" keep in my kingdom). -
Nowadays cell phones would probably be 1x1 tiles, although that would look kinda wierd. :-)

Thanks, I forgot about those pics, although that doesn't seem to be a complete part list. (It doesn't include windows, doors or bananas -- that's the most obvious I could pick out) At any rate, now I have a new idea to use skeleton legs in my mocs! *sweet*

Nuts, you're right. I was hoping for a new 2x3x1 window mold, but I'll let the awesomeness of the rest of the set drown out any disappointment. :-) If this has already been discussed, I'm sorry if I missed it, but can anyone tell how the black railing on the roof is done? (I've looked at it so long, my eyes are going buggy) It looks to me like a row of black skeleton legs with a bar running the length of the roof. I can't figure out what the star-like "details" are, though.

I'm pretty sure that's a manatee. :-)

Someone in Minnesota is selling one on eBay, so I wonder if they'll be popping into stores in the U.S. soon?

I see the dual-wielding guns as Star Wars blasters with (technic?) tubes attached to the ends. I don't think we'll be seeing new weapons (outside of new colors).

I know this has been debated to death, but I really think that ship sailed when Lego released the yellow castle in 1978. The non-violence supporters can say it wasn't modern times or it was make-believe, but let me tell ya, when my brother and I got that set, our minifigs weren't gathered around a table discussing the pros and cons of a monarch-based government. They were hacking each others heads and arms off. *sweet*

All I want are some sharks with frickin' lazer beams on their heads! (ok, so they're flick-fire missiles ...) I was hoping these sets would be good for some new parts, but apart from the Lego laptop, barbed wire loop and the bad guy helmet, I'm not seeing much here (although the remote-control gators provide some campy fun). I predict most of my Lego money this summer will be going to Indy and Castle. :-)

Looks like a cute set. Thanks for the pics, but like it was mentioned, perhaps you could shrink the photos some next time. *sweet* I feel as though my face is 2 inches from the set when looking at these. 8-

Well, judging from the picture at the very beginning of this thread, I would definitely say it's a new piece.

Personally, I would make the brewery the center of your town, because I just think that's simply an awesome MOC. Plus, well, it's a brewery. *sweet*

Out of curiousity I looked up Enlighten sets on eBay. One of the sellers had this in the description: "NOT recommended to serious LEGO Collectors." :-P

I would think that for asking that much, the seller could at least have a pic of the set. :-|

He was referring to the skeleton chariot impulse set in the last two pics. (Whether it's the actual set or a recreation I can't tell.)

Yes, I've been reminded too often in past years of the ancient proverb, "You snooze, you lose." *sing*

Well, I could definitely be wrong, but wouldn't it be tough to put the flags at an angle? Also, the SNOT design makes me imagine there is a four-sided "headlight" brick on its side, with the t-bars attached. At least, that's how I'd do it. :-)

Looks to me like the "T" bar piece (Having trouble describing it, but I often think of it as the handle for a dynamite detonator :-/ ) http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=4696b

Somehow I was never quite as cool in school as Jack Jack the Lego Maniac. 8-|

OK. I was just thinking/hoping the lady fig was a hint at a Castle Cafe Corner-esque set (which IMO would be more inline with a AFOL-geared set than an advent calendar). Oh well.

I like the tank, too. I also noticed the smoke from the gun. :-) The fingers make me chuckle, though, because those arms look as practical as a T-rex's. Aliens will have to literally jump into the fingers in order to be captured. :-P
