He he... I also visited the Lego shop in Oberhausen today. I bought the Maersk train (including a free PaB-cup) and 6 custom Minifigs. I also bought 7 Collectable Minifigs (6 from the 2nd series, and 1 from the third) at Kaufhof. In germany we'll get a free PaB-cup if we spend at least 50€ at a Lego shop this month. I'm not sure if this offer takes place in other countries, too.

Yay, finally a decent train-set. It looks so much better than this Maersk-thing. Also: pink & purple beats Maersk-blue.

City WIP: Sidewalks
Nebsirob replied to alienwar9's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I do understand, that alienwar9 modelled a US city, and my post was no attempt to criticize or usurp his fantastic designs. I just wanted to show the difference of the traffic lights, since this was the reason for my confusion. After seeing the traffic lights in your link, I also see the difficulty, alienwar9 had in designing the arrangement of the signals in an obvious way (without the arrows). -

Thanks for the clarification. I only knew these traffic lights with extra turn signals: (The second color for the turn signal under the green one is either yellow or orange.) In LEGO it would look like this: -

Don`t worry. LDD shows "only" 1513 pieces. Great job, alienwar9 (as always). My favorites are the different light posts. The only thing, I don't understand is: Why do some traffic lights have 5 lamps? -

Here's my entry: The Dwarf-Container Due to the fact that most of their customers were unsatisfied with their shipping times, our brave dwarfs had to adept to modern types of transportation. Therefore they needed to construct a (wooden) container: However, since the dwarfs are too greedy to pay for transport-insurance, they always have a guard on board (who can only just look):

I think, he refers to the one, which can be seen during the end credits. Unfortunately it's a bit too blurry for me. I can't identify any parts of the train/monorail/vehicel, nor the tracks they used.

INDEXED Set Number: 7848 Name: Toys R Us delivery truck Theme: City Year of Release: 2010 Pieces: 356 Minifigs: 3 Price: 29.99 Euro BrickLink BrickSet --------------------------------- Hello, this is my first review of a Lego set. I hope you like it. The box shows our brave hero, who arrives just in time to fill up the shelves of Lego City´s first Toys'R'Us. As you can see, the poor saleswoman already tried to bribe the kid, by giving him a car for free. The box is about the same size as the one from his yellow brother 3221. (Just a couple of inches thicker). And, as always, it is barely half filled. The sides of the box shows us the Minifigs, and the front picture. The back gives an impression of the shop´s interior, as well as the proof, that the boy only wanted to buy Lego (and no toy-car). After opening the box, we´ll get 4 bags, 2 instruction-books, a DSS, and 3 dark bley plates (one of them is a baseplate). The DSS (sorry for the blurry pic) gives us 14 stickers. Fortunally, my sheet wasn´t bend, or wrinkled. A random page from the 2nd book. This is, what you get, when you open (and sort) the 4 bags. The inventory pages (also blurry... even though, I used my scanner for this one). Here are the 3 Minifigs. The Driver, is just the same, as in 3221. The saleswoman has a dark bley jacket with a purple scarf. The boy wears a white/light blue hoodie... ...which is also printed on the back. Since the Truck is basicly the same as 3221, I'll just show the results of the first three bags: Bag 1 Bag 2 The Truck (Bags 1 & 2) The Trailer (Bag 3) Finally, we´ll look at the contents of the 4. bag: Random exterior shot during the build. Random interior shot during the build. A close-up of the 3 new Lego-Lego-sets. Unfortunally, just one police-bike. The fire-truck comes in 2 different boxes. One is just a tile on a plate, and the other has the tile attached to a 2x2 brick. The Lego-sets are attached to the yellow plate, to avoid their downfall. The trans-clear panels work nicely as shelves. A close-up of the toy-car and the small hovercraft. They are attached via a black 1x1 round plate. The other side of the shop, featuring the miniatures, and the toy-weapons in a barrel. The front of the store is covered by two 2x2 tiles and a blue 2x4 tile. Each of them gets it's own sticker. The completed store. (Bag 4). Interior shot of the store. And finally a picture of the entire set. Spare parts. The truck itself is just great. Just like his 3221-counterpart he´s huge, he´s powerfull, and a great addition to any Lego-town/-city/-collection. The minifigs are also fantastic. The driver may be the same, as in 3221, but you can always change parts and create new/different civilians. Speaking of civilians, the saleswoman is adorable. A nice torso (jacket with scarf), and not (yet) overused hair. As for the boy: I like his hoodie and the uncommon face with brown eyebrows and the smirky smile. The Store may seem a little small, but it is nevertheless a nice piece of diorama, which can easily be extended. Plus, it is packed with a lot of toys... Lego, miniatures, "toy"-weapons, and a bear. Bonus: A comparison-shot of 3221 and 7848. The payloads. The "supporting cast". Trailer-mix. Thank you for the read. Neb

I just came back from our local Toys'R'Us, which also had the Public Transport (99 €), and the Toys'R'Us-Truchk (29,95 €). I bought the Truck, and will write a review during the next hours (my camera´s batteries are still charging).
-
I bought my City Truck yesterday for only 19,95€ at our "Müller". Also mytoys sells it right now for 19,99€.
-
Since TRU in germany offers a 20% discount on LEGO sets (30€ and higher), I bought the 7682 Shanghai Chase, and the 7683 Fight on the Flying Wing for 61,58€ (about 83 $). Now, I´m just missing 9 Sets (and the Jungle cruiser ^^).

I think, I´ll give him a hairpiece, and use him as Solomon Grundy.

Best wishes for a happy birthday and a wonderful day of joy and surprises.

In only had the 675 Snack Bar & the 6683 Hamburger Stand. It was nice to give my minifigs the possibility to choose their fav. food. As for myself, I always prefered the Hamburger Stand. (Therefore, I voted for it) Also, I would call the Pizza To Go a close 2nd. (I´ll hopefully get one this year).

On Saturday, In finally got my very own Dwarve´s Mine. Oh, and the Knight´s Battle Pack, too. Also I bought the Orc/Troll Impulse Set, and the Batcopter/Scarecrow Set (Finally my ´07 Batman line is complete).

Oh my god, how could I have missed that day. Belated best wishes, Sinner!

What game are we playing at the moment?
Nebsirob replied to Mr Hobbles's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I started Kingdim Hearts a few days ago. And I still have Rampage: Total Destruction (PS2) on my shelf, and waiting to be played. -
Well, it´s about 47 minutes away (using bus & train). Okay, lame excuse. Usually, I visit our local shops, and look for special offers. Since I had much luck, I hadn´t enough money left to buy anything at the LEGO store. Therefore I would´ve only tortured myself, if I´ve gotten there sooner (without money).
-
I found them at the (official) LEGO-store in Oberhausen. They had about 10 of each hanging in the castle-corner.
-
Today, I bought my first Skeleton Battle Pack. I also "created" 2 minifigs at a LEGO store, and bought them... Only to get some parts, I didn´t had before.
-
Today, I finally visited the LEGO store in Oberhausen. It was amazin, to see the UCS Millenium Falcon (and Grievous), and Town Plan live, and in living color. But as always... So much to buy, and so little money. However, the Pick-A-Brick-wall was a bit disappointing...

Today, I got a small bricklink order for a "secret project". I also bought 8813 - "Battle at the pass", which was finally reduced from 42 to 30 €, and the 8159 Speed Racer Set (Taejo & Racer X) for 17,99 €.

Thanks, for your opinions (so far). Right now it looks like this: #1: 3 votes #2: 1 votes #3: 5 votes (+1 from my girl-friend ) It seems, like I´ll conrinue the building with the third design. I´ll try to give you an update of the plans asap (that is, IF you are interested).

Hi everybody. Since I´ll finally get my own LEGO-room next year, I can finally plan my very own City. One of the landmarks will be the "Ben-Corp.-Tower". The roof of this tower shall shape the letter "B". With MLCad, I tried different designs. Here are the final three: But now, I can´t decide, which of these designs shows the best "B". I would like to hear some opinions, and/or tips for improvements.
